Rewatched the performance on the west coast (finally!), in HD versus a little live stream from the east coast airing. Everything looked great, the set and the color was amazing. Sadly, everything sounded weak. Xylobands were pretty good, but not anything like I was expecting (e.g. the Xfactor performance). Better luck next year, and at the Brits.

Performers usually perform a song that's up for nomination, which is why Paradise was played instead of Charlie Brown. The only exception is if it's a special occasion, or a collaboration/duet.

Rihanna's performance was bleh... The POC acoustic was great IMO, my guess is they kept it acoustic cause of Chris's voice. Paradise was... safe? Considering Chris is sick, he did pretty good. I was expecting more Xylobands, dunno if the stream I was watching just didn't showcase the color, or if the audience just wouldn't get their hands up. On the other hand, their set with the MX graffiti was great. Hopefully they'll be back to perform next year, since we know MX will be eligible for awards. And am I the only one secretly hoping that Coldplay, or at least the Xylobands will be part of the big finale? Fix You would be a fitting finale and tribute.

Unusual for Coldplay. It kind of worked, followed the lyrics and the story. But...it had xylobands, lasers and fireworks, so that's cool. And the camera shot from the head of Guy's bass was pretty neat.

Most likely they will play Paradise or ETIAW as well, since they are up for awards. Much like they did Lost+ then Viva a few years ago.

That Peponi arrangement is amazing! They really took some care and put a lot of work into it.

I may try for one of the Hollywood Bowl nights, imagine the fireworks and light show we could get there! However, I have a feeling Staples Center and Honda Center dates will pop up soon. If so then I'm going to Anaheim.

I've also been noticing DLIBYH during Nascar on ESPN, both during the races and their 'Nascar Now" shows. Along with Paradise and ETIAW. Can't wait for next year when Fox returns, they use Coldplay during Nascar more than any other network.

I'm a huge fan of Nascar, and I often catch snippits of Coldplay when TV goes away to commercial. Clocks was very common when NBC was covering races. Also have heard Speed Of Sound, Talk, Viva La Vida, Square One, Yellow ( all between Fox, ESPN, NBC, Speed and TNT, but Fox seems to be most common, I swear whoever chooses songs for cutaways is a Coldplay fan). Recently on ESPN have been hearing ETIAW, Paradise and yesterday on their 'Nascar Now' show I heard Don't Let It Break Your Heart!

Awesome, one of my favorites. Notice it's the most relaxing with lyrics/words, the other 4 are instrumental.

Perhaps an experiment show just to see how it works?

I was hoping Coldplay would follow up Arcade Fire's LED Coachella balls, that was pretty epic. And the sparkling wristbands in Madrid looked awesome, can't wait to see what their other innovative idea is.

Watching on the west coast now. Heard they played Paradise and Up In Flames Colbert: "My guest Coldplay has a new album out, it's called Mylo Xyloto, and if you say it backwards they return to their home dimension."

I thought it was odd they were at the Apple event this morning then have to make it to NY for Colbert. Makes sense they would move it to tomorrow. Edit: After some brief googling, many sites show their appearance as Oct 20. So I guess they did postpone.

That's kind of interesting, since they are scheduled to perform on The Colbert Report in NY tonight. Wonder how that logistics will work out.

I'm not sure what to think... at times I was confused, at other times I was chuckling... I'd really like to learn the backstory to this video idea

Defiantly noticed that on first listen, I just hope Wedding Bells creeps up somewhere later, either as a b-side or something. We know Chris worked for a while on that. Then again, Wedding Bells might turn into the "Bucket For A Crown" of MX.
