I'm making me and my co-worker listen to WPLJ right now and it's just Janet Jackson tickets and commercials. :angry: 5:06PM. they said 13 minutes!!!! 5:17PM. maybe they meant 30 mins. 5:30PM they mean now!

I must have not been on LI for their Jones Beach show. But yeah, the sound is pretty bad esp in the nosebleeds. They could come to Nassau Coliseum again, that place may be a dump but the sound is good and even the worst seats are not too bad. Just hard to get to for people w/o a car. Good, I'm not the only one that hates the station. I think they ran that promo for the China Club performance too. Now I have to bring a radio to work to listen or something. My co-worker keeps recommending 101.9, they play better classic rock.

This is the website for the PBS show: http://www.spainontheroadagain.com I caught "On the Road Again" on PBS on Sunday afternoon. Great looking show: gorgeous actresses, scenery, and the food. Gwyneth's spanish is definitely not gringo. Being as skinny as she is, it's hard to fathom that she actually eats. The only thing she didn't eat was raw partridge(though Batali got food poisoning from it so she was better off) and she was adamant about animals being raised humanely. The only notably weird part of the episode came when Batali and Gwyneth went to see an El Greco painting, The Burial of Count Orgaz, inside a church(Santo Tome) and noticed that the seventh person was shadowed differently. She then proceeds to wonder out loud if El Greco ever studied Kabbalah. Then Batali calls her out on it and says something like not everyone follows Madonna. She also left at the end of the 1st episode to go home to take care of the kids, but she's in previews for ep 2.

Ok. I looked up the ways to get a standby tickets. There's a dress rehearsal and the live show. Looks like the chances of getting a standby ticket is better if the host and musical guest are not popular, since it's October we can't hope for a blizzard either. Here's the info I got from this site: Getting Standby Saturday Night Live Tickets: For stand-by tickets, arrive by 7 a.m. on the morning of the taping under the "NBC Studios" marquee on the 50th St. side of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Standby tickets are available for either the 8 pm dress rehearsal or the 11:30 pm live show. Only one ticket will be issued per person. Please note that a stand-by ticket does not guarantee admission. I've read on other sites that the line for the standby can start as early as 5pm FRIDAY.

I will also keep my ears open to any radio station contests, the last time wplj did the contest for the China Club show. So the venue has to hold at least 500 people and have videotaping capabilities. I wonder if it's going to be a regular venue or just a studio.

I wonder if this contest is weighted towards people living in the Tri-State area since it says "Are you a Coldplay fan living in the New York City or New Jersey area? " I really really want to win.

The complainers are in the comments section of his initial review, link. I ain't complaining, most of the Coldplay concerts I've been to were 1 hr 30 mins so that was what I was expecting. Not that I didn't wish it was longer. Unless I went to a Springsteen concert that was only 90mins, I wouldn't complain. The people that started screaming "encore" when the house lights came on were the kids high on E that were sitting in front of me, wth do they know.

I told my friend in Japan about the concert, I hope she goes so she can tell me about it. A darn good lineup at the festival besides Coldplay.
