  1. I didn't doubt that production is important, just whether you meant that commercial songs lack production value specifically sound quality. Either way, your reply clears things up and I can appreciate your POV now. However, i'm still holding out hope that the rumoured album won't be that way *if there even is one coming up.
  2. Oh, I don't quite have that same definition as you. I thought commerical ~ poppiness, lol. So when you talk about commercial albums being poorly produced, are you referring to the actual sound quality? (serious question)

  4. Regarding the fear of 'commercializing' Coldplay as was mentioned by the original article: even if it is true, I'd count ourselves as lucky for having a band like Coldplay be as un-commercial as they are. Regardless of everyone's opinion of Coldplay, no one can deny they are one of the biggest acts in the world with their success spreading internationally. I mean, with a band as big as Coldplay, its inevitable that they have some 'radio-friendly, 'commerical' and 'poppy' traits. When I hear these hipster comments along the lines of 'I sure hope they don't go all commercial on us', I wonder where they've been, 'cause the band has already gone a bit in that direction. I am actually thankful that despite their global success, the band hasn't gone completely Hollywood on us. What other band as big as Coldplay have managed to stay quite as under the radar as them?
  5. Tin foil hats on everyone
  6. oh, that wasn't directed at you specifically
  7. The following is assuming this rumour is true: I don't see how we can do much complaining about more new material coming from the lads. We say we can't wait for the new album to come and yet at the same time we say if they release a new album after that it's too soon...? Personally, I'll take whatever they give us. I hear a few comments that say to release 2 albums so close to one another isn't good (or at least not ideal) but I definitely wouldn't say its a bad thing.

  10. theres an icon above your message window (3rd from the right) to 'insert image'
  11. oh, you mean like 'God Put a Smile Upon Your Face'? To be blunt, hell yes, I prefer that video to this video. Let the actors act, let the singers sing. I think you'll agree GPASUYF fits your description exactly: they hired some actors to act out the story and in the gaps had the band playing; best of both worlds. I don't want this to spiral out of control, let me be clear that this is my opinion. I get that a majority do like this video. I'm not here to rain on your parade or anyone elses, but I thought I'd at least point it out.
  12. You're right, those 3 screencaps are a clear representation of the whole MV. And yes, I would say Guy and Jonny look more enthusiastic in this video than Magic because THEY ARENT IN MAGIC. To be honest, perhaps 'enthusiastic' isnt the right word. The main thing im trying to get across is the the boys arent actors and when they try to act, it doesn't look good.
  13. My counter to that is that Coldplay are known for giving great live performances and enthusiasm. They are not known for their acting. I would rather they play to their strengths in that regard then showcase their weaknesses. In my view, they were enthusiastic in the In My place video and the whole band showed up! In my view as well, Clocks was a little window as to what their actual live performance was like (lasers and such). To each their own, but I would still rather they keep the acting to a minimum.
  14. lol, very similar. I mean, the guys in Coldplay are pretty awkward in real life as it is. When you make 'em act, its almost cringe worthy.
  15. ZOMG it was Zhang Ziyi who broke them up !!!1111eleventeen1 check Magic MV /sarcasm
  16. And I think everyone agrees the rest of the band need to be in it. I mean, how are you gonna have Chris in TWO roles and the rest of the band in none?
  17. I, for one, do not like this video, but then again, I don't like many of Coldplay's MVs. I mean, they aren't actors (not good ones, but funnily bad ones). Then again, not a big deal considering what matters is the music playing. I'd actually prefer they dumb it way down and just play the song (a la clocks) instead of having them attempt to tell a story.
  18. inb4 zhang ziyi cheating rumours too soon?
  19. I wish I was wrong too!
  20. 5 minutes until nothing happens! yay
  21. snape? well, that makes sense since snape is a magician....
