  1. No need to apologize. I was unsure of how to interpret your reply without the proper voice/tone to read it in. On my initial read I thought it was a dig at me, so I wrote an angrily worded reply. I then quickly edited it since perhaps it was just me lacking sleep at 1am which turned out to be right. All that behind us now, I've heard those tracks as well and got them from that same thread you talked about. I don't see them appearing in this era though but they would've fit really well in the viva era given the brass and strings style and all.
  2. Not appearing on mine but the app is now avail on mobile devices. I assume you have one (why get Apple TV otherwise?) so just view on Tuesday through airplay if all fails.
  3. I happen to remember that thread as well, so I can attest to the gist of what you wrote. As for the comment I was actually responding to. All the proof that was given in that post was that Will said he liked a song called Famous Old Painters that didn't make it to the final LP4 cut. Alls I said was that this does not prove that OP's song is the same song. Like I said in my previous post, all this proves is that a song called Famous Old Painters exists (which we knew already) and that Will liked it. Whether the song OP posted is the song Will is talking about is unknown. To clarify, I'm not in denial of whether this song is 'real' or not. I was simply stating that using that piece of information from twitter as enough evidence confirming OP's link is the real track is absurd by my own personal standards. My standards obviously differ from that posters. That's why I did my own digging using that shazam method. The results of which I have posted previously. Now, with your additional information we can make an even better guess at the legitimacy of the track but again, is it quite enough to close the book on it? I'm not sure either way, but we appreciate you gathering the evidence for it I guess.... Lastly, Occam's Razor? Yes I've heard of it. I might actually argue that someone putting a fake song on YouTube under the name Famous Old Painters is a more simple solution than someone magically being able to obtain a previously unobtainable song without Coldplay noticing and on top of that selling it under their noses but that's just me. Tl;dr Evidence lacking to say confirmed. But likely that this is the track. *Highly edited by author to avoid conflict*
  4. ^ All that confirms is that they had a song called "Famous Old Painters" (which we already knew) and that some of them liked it. It does not confirm that the link OP posted is the same song. Protip: in cases where someone posts a song saying they found a leak, use Shazam. More often than not, its a fake. I will be doing this for this song and post what the results are. Results: inconclusive. Multiple 'Shazams' to the video suggest different songs each run or unknown songs altogether. In other words, Shazam doesn't know what song this is with 100% accuracy. That being said, this does not confirm this song is Famous Old Painters.

  6. If the band buys this site, they (or at least their management) wont be too happy with their b-sides going away for free. But from what I understand it`s not just buying the site, its maintaining the site. Maintaining the site will require a steady stream of money being pumped into it as long as the site exists and not just a one time sum.
  7. ^meh, whichever it was, it was no coldplaying....no offence
  8. I think that's the one that was mentioned in the comments section of the news article explaining they were gonna sell the site
  9. BUT YOURE SO GOOD AND FAST AT ITTTTTTT! inb4 that's what she said
  10. Just another one of those little things the fandom can talk about, like CarKids and 42. Meaningless in the end, but good to kill time with in between albums edit: oh god, wouldn't car kids be amazing as one of the exclusive target songs?! See, ^ just like that, meaningless, unlikely but keeps the fandom running
  11. To be honest, discussing the songs is all well and good, but the brilliance of Coldplaying is the amount of news I got from it. If we could just get a group of people to continue finding those news links and post them on Twitter at least that would be the minimum that I would need. And Tash, if i'm not mistaken, you're fairly good at posting things in a timely fashion ;). I also recently started noticing a "T" at the end of some of Coldplaying's tweets, might that be you? If the site goes belly up, do you have your own twitter where you may continue doing this?
  12. IIRC, it was brought up to the Oracle as well. I'm para-para-paraphrasing but the response was that it's not something the band goes out of their way to try and do. The oracle actually didn't count Charlie Brown as a "colour song" anyways. Edit: Here's the Oracle post
  13. At the same time, what data would you want to move from this site to another site? The b-sides and whatnot are all over the web and i'm sure most of us have everything (b-sides, bootlegs) that we wanted already anyways. Also, i'm curious as to where everyone migrated to. I for one struggled to find a good site. I jumped to ColdplayZone and had to translate everything which was a hastle, tried a site suggested in the comments of that 'farewell' news article and eventually settled on r/Coldplay in reddit.

Exactly, I think they're just rating a 10 because it's Coldplay and in their eyes, they can do no wrong. Obviously they have done some work that has flopped or is downright bad like everyone has. But if you ever were to question that to certain fans, you'd get labeled as "not as big a fan as they are". Despite the view of some, you can dislike some of their work whilst still being a fan, a huge fan at that. One of two things may be causing it in my view: either they're trying to prove how much they love the band by blindly voting for them whether the song is good or not or they genuinely think the song is a 10. I for one don't think it's a perfect 10 song. I remember a week or so ago fake 'leaks' of the songs were appearing on youtube and 'fans' were loving how they sound except the songs were actually short clips from other bands. Somehow, as soon as you attach the word Coldplay on it, its a piece of art. All that aside, my own views on the song have changed since hearing it. I actually find myself enjoying it more after listening to Magic and I can see now how well they fit together and on the eventual Ghost Stories album.
  15. ^ lol, hey, you and I have the same signature idea! I was actually gonna do that font thing too
  16. Coldplay are a pretty 'green' band, I don't think they wanna waste paper to print lyrics if they're on their site already anyways. Plus they haven't done it in their previous 5 albums and I don't expect this to be any different.
  17. I say 'yellow' next to hit all 5 album eras
  18. Probably not. The gig they did in Newcastle also had them in 'new' clothes. I think the idea is that their usual uniforms are to promote themselves and the album but this gig is more to promote a cause.
  19. or maybe they flipped their setlist upside down?
  20. getting the hits out of the way first eh?
  21. Hey smarties, 'casualties' could mean dead OR injured
  22. sounds like a good vacation though....:p
