  1. VANESSA have you gotten my letter yet?
  2. ....hmmmm me too :)
  3. I dislike those times very much (ewe...hold on let me change this song that is playing right now.... it sounds like jazzy indian music!) okay I don't like the times when I have these odd moments of time, either late at night or early morning. And NO One is here. Those are sad sad times. :(
  4. oh....sounds like a deal. And I guess it could push it up sooner.... :cheesy:
  5. no help there..but ...good luck ;)
  6. well dmb has lmany many cd's out there and each one (to me) is good for it's own reason and personal style. so to get a mix of allll their best stuff...please get 'The Central Park Concert' album. It has all their best songs on it. -another live disc would be Listener Supported (2 part disc)...it also contains so good live ones) (I put stars next to some personal favorites ) The Central Park Concert (Disc 1) 1 Don't Drink The Water** 2 So Much To Say 3 Too Much** 4 Granny 5 Crush********* :) 6 When The World Ends The Central Park Concert (Disc 2) 1 Dancing Nancies* 2 Warehouse* 3 Ants Marching 4 Rhyme And Reason* 5 Two Step****** 6 Help Myself The Central Park Concert (Disc 3) 1 Cortez, The Killer 2 Jimi Thing*** 3 What Would You Say** 4 Where Are You Going 5 All Along The Watchtower**** (jimi hendrix cover) 6 Grey Street 7 What You Are 8 Stay (Wasting Time)* it's pretty much all live, (concert version...duh) But personally (and I would say other dmb lovers would agree) that live, they jam like crazy! And that is always best no? that is my certified advice. DO IT! ;) If you're not ready to jump into the live stuff (some peeps would rather not) , then get either 'Crash' or 'Under The Table And Dreaming' Dave Matthews Band
  7. heh...sorry, but it is best to know the truths behind these things. Then you know where the artists are coming from :) Like that song by Billy Holiday called Strange Fruit. It's real low and (creepy if you aske me) but since it exhibited her strong voice in a beautiful way ... most people didn't care to notice that the lyrics where so very sick! The lyrics speak of the hangings of blacks/african american people .... yeah. BUT i don't understand how people didn't notice them till some closer analysis ( ) what they meant! I mean ..singing those lyrics out loud...would give it all away...but uh. Strange Fruit Southern trees bear strange fruit, Blood on the leaves and blood at the root, Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze, Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees. Pastoral scene of the gallant south, The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth, Scent of magnolias, sweet and fresh, Then the sudden smell of burning flesh. Here is fruit for the crows to pluck, For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck, For the sun to rot, for the trees to drop, Here is a strange and bitter crop.
  8. damnit! when will i be here at the same time as you ALLYYY!?
  9. I saw this one already. It's very well done! Those French and their film skills!
  10. thanks .... ;) those were some pretty wicked pics. specially the sweaty ones! :P
  11. ;) Thanks for keepin us updated. Maybe I will see them at Bonnaroo, I am still not decided if I want to travel aaalll that distance to see em. I wonder if they would perform something off of the new album?
  12. ME too... sleepy meee night night and sweet dreams  good night all :)
  13. I dunno. I am always NOT looking forward to new albums by artists I enjoy...but at the same time, I look forward to it....to hear what it is like. BUT i get myself aaaalllll worked up hoping and wishing it will be mega good and all. But sometimes ...it is very hard to find really good sequals to albums. Like...I waited forever for X&Y to come out..thinking it was gonna be THE shit. BUt it turns out it was not as great as I expected and can honestly say if it wasn't for the songs 'Til Kingdom COme' and 'Fix You' I wish X&Y would not have come out..why? because it is nothing like AROBTTH ....much less Parachutes. WHich no album of theirs can ever top! So i really really do hope that THe Arcade surprises me with more heart throbbing music but keeps to their unique style and that they don't make it all " mainstreamy" ..just cuz they made it to the top :)
  14. what is your new job? I am still a bum and do not have a job to speak of. BUt I do make cash with some odd jobs I do on the computer. So it's all good ;)
  15. lame! :p whoever is talking about my lover Thom Yorke and his character-fiiiilllled lazy eye..better shuuuudup! :mean: no really. it's cool, and something to remember him by. I STILL don't get why people compare Chris Martin to Thom Yorke or Thom Yorke to Chris Martin (there IS a difference)
  16. Same here. I remeber names really well...when most people don't, so they feel bad sometimes. And I remeber people from like, waaaaay back when....I can see how that can be creeepy..but whoooootever. I am cool  Glad to see you around too chico :)
  17. whoever said that bloc party, keane, james blunt are underrated in the US is wrong..they are so all over the place..it's sick. Fiona Apple is prety known, but not for her (amazing) skills, but for her attitude (especially during concerts.) But yes...I wish everyone could hear just how beautiful she makes music... with the style and lyrically! Ben Folds /Five.....I would agree with that too. His piano skills are a blast and his vocals....welll you HAVE to listen to em! Plus he gives a hell of a show with well done covers (if you can, listen to his cover of 'Tiny Dancer' ) :)
  18. yeah...they all seem to have some kind of magical (even if negative) past
  19. baaaaad news  but you have already seen them once at least...B grateful
  20. okay. here is the scoop on the song ' Haiti' Regine Butler (you know, from The Arcade Fire  ) Lived in Haiti as a youth. I don't know the reason exactly, ( I assume it was because her parents did not approve of it) but Regine started to learn how to play a variety of instruments ..but in secret from her family. Meanwhile, there is a dictatorship in Haiti, so her family flees to the United States (I believe it was New Jersey...but could have been New York..i read about it weeks ago) THen they move to Canada...and so on. But the point is...the song is basically about all the troubles ruling about in Haiti during the dictatorship and how families are tossed about during these times. So now this should give you some insight on where the 'origin' came from...you can tell that this is probably a powerful song for Regine/about her...if you read the lyrics AND know her past... I think it is really important to know artists' pasts because it lets you know where they are coming from and know what many wish to know ...the meaning of a song. ( with translations of French words in [ ] brackets) ' Haiti' Haiti, mon pays, [ 'my country' in French, Regine speaks it] wounded mother I'll never see. Ma famille [my family] set me free. Throw my ashes into the sea. Mes cousins jamais nés [my cousins, never born] hantent les nuits de Duvalier. [the nights of Duvalier(where she lived) haunt] Rien n'arrete nos esprits. [Nothing stops/quits our spirits] Guns can't kill what soldiers can't see. In the forest we are hiding, unmarked graves where flowers grow. Hear the soldiers angry yelling, in the river we will go. Tous les morts-nés forment une armée, [All the still-born children form an army] soon we will reclaim the earth. All the tears and all the bodies bring about our second birth. Haiti, never free, n'aie pas peur de sonner l'alarme. [ not afraid to sound alarm] Tes enfants sont partis, [Your children left] In those days their blood was still warm
  21. is your question cencerning the picture, or what was written? here are the answers to both, since Nik didn't get to em... The Picture with the poster by a subway: During their HTTT tour, Radiohead had these poster put all around town with questions from the song lyrics to ' We Suck Young Blood' .... Like " hungry?" "sweet?" "fresh?" to what was written by Nik... THe Radiohead song called ' Climbing up the Walls' ... is based on a occupation that Thom Yorke held in his past. He worked at a mental institute, and some patient there imagined there being things climbing up walls with red eyes and the such...
