Battle
http://www.myspace.com/thisisbattle http://www.thisisbattle.com Excellent band, they've released one mini-album, "Back To Earth" and their first proper album, "Break the Banks" was released last Monday, September 3rd, featuring the singles "The Longest Time" and "Paper Street". It got 4/10 in the NME (which counts for shit basically). Standout tracks: the two singles, "North Sea", "Looking for Bullets" and "Sit With Me". Anyone else a fan? Oh and no this wasn't already in the band index.

It's the time of year when Mr Jobs...
I'm getting an iPod classic soon. Old 30gig video that I had my eye on for a while: €249 New 80gig classic that would give me more than enough space to fit my music collection on, plus audiobooks, podcasts and videos: €249. Brilliant price. :D

Air Traffic
Oooooops, didn't see this. Meh. I was surprised that the NME give it a 6/10. I thought they didn't like that kind of stuff (apart from Coldplay). The NME is a joke nowadays.

Air Traffic
Brilliant band. Their album, "Fractured Life" is out now on CD, download and 12". Their next single is "No More Running Away", which will be released late next month.

Libble invites
Anyone like a http://www.libble.com invite? I have 5 to give away at the moment. :) PM me if you want one. A good sized music collection is essential. If you do get invited, use the search function before uploading anything. You must know how to create, upload and seed torrents. I would recommend uTorrent. Reding the rules is extremely important. Easier to become a Power User (Upload 5GB vs OiNK's 10GB) Staff aren't a bunch of uptight obnoxious idiots. You get a second chance i.e you do not get temp banned if you break a rule first time e.g uploading a transcode. The offer's out there.

Battle of the Musical Acts 2007: Round One Voting
1 Arctic Monkeys vs. Elbow Haven't really gotten into Elbow, and the new AM record is amazing, so... 2 The Beatles vs. Dashboard Confessional Don't really listen to either, but the Beatles are legends. 3 Sigur Rós vs. REM I don't like REM. 'Nuff said. 4 Arcade Fire vs. Explosions In The Sky Arcade Fire are AMAZING, plus I don't know that other lot are. :P 5 Death Cab For Cutie vs. We Are Scientists What I have heard of We Are Scientists, I like. 6 Radiohead vs. The Clash This will be a Blow Out (Bad pun :laugh3:) 7 Blur vs. The Killers I haven't heard any Blur. 8 U2 vs. The Libertines Haven't heard any Libs..yet. Also, why else do you think I picked U2? Go figure. :P 9 The Strokes vs. Maximo Park I like some Strokes now and then. 10 British Sea Power vs. Bright Eyes Haven't heard any BSP. Anyway, Cassadaga is a brilliant album. 11 Oasis vs. The Smiths Just because. 12 Muse vs. Stereophonics Don't think I need to explain this. 13 Keane vs. Ben Folds Keane: just better. 14 Red Hot Chili Peppers vs. Interpol Because Untitled is a tune. Plus Banks can sing. 15 Mew vs. Nick Drake Haven't heard any Nick Drake. Mew are good though. 16 Bloc Party vs. Snow Patrol Why must you do this to me!?!? Snow Patrol, by quite a distance, if only because I've seen them live. Twice.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Absolution may well be the easiest to get into, but in my opinion, you should work backwards. BH&R: Mashup of styles, sometimes nodding towards Absolution, sometimes veering off in new directions. Absolution: In most cases, a continuation of the heavierness found in Origin of Symmetry. Origin of Symmetry: Revealed a different, harder, less piano-based Muse. If you like, it was a complete reinvention. Showbiz: Can't really describe this, as I haven't listened to it much. Martin's Recommendations BH&R: Map of the Problematique, Assassin (if you can, get the Grand Omega Bosses edit), Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia. Absolution: I would actually recommend the whole album, but in particular: Apocalyspe Please, Stockholm Syndrome, Hysteria, .utterflies & Hurricanes, TSP (The Small Print), Thoughts of a Dying Atheist) Origin of Symmetry: New Born, Bliss, Hyper Music, Citizen Erased, Darkshines, Feeling Good, Micro Cuts. Showbiz: Sunburn, Muscle Museum, Filip, Cave, Showbiz, Uno, Unintended. There you go.
