  1.     (Ich bin zwar zu männlich um ein Fangirl zu sein, aber ich raste auch einfach mal aus ;))
  2. Die angegebenen Preise sind ohne Gebühren, oder? Uuuund weiß jemand wo das Bestellmaximum liegt? Bin natürlich dabei :D
  3. Great idea. Unfortunately I'll attend concerts on the 1st and the 4th, so I'd only have 2 days in London :-(
  4. Since they talked about 13 songs, it could also include 2 12'' records (or 10''). I'd say 40-60 € Edit: The records should be coloured! =)
  5. It really was played as often as the other ones in Germany! Even now they may play it more often than Yellow and Fix You here. Anyway, I'm quite sure the vast majority of the songs I've mentioned have been played numerous times on the radio in most Western countries.
  6. Are they kidding me? Come on, Yellow, In My Place, Clocks, Fix You, Talk, The Hardest Part, Violet Hill, Viva La Vida are songs that have been played on the radio millions of times. Everybody knows these songs. At least there's one off every record people know, as long they haven't moved to Mars.
  7. The dates don't seem unplausible for me. In 2008, they didn't always take straight routes either. I think the gap between the 2nd and 3rd show in 2012 will be filled, with more shows in Italy for example. A one week break after just 2 shows don't really make sense. Think they're still working on the schedule. Despite those rumours, I expect some tour announcements within the next 3 weeks.
  8. I thought the audience at Rock am Ring would be shit and it turned out to be one of the bests! Many people won't know the new songs but that's alright. They'll go crazy for the big hits =) I'm sure it'll be a great experience. Don't worry too much, just enjoy it and let go.
  9. Which I never did. And there was no showing off, just stating how ridiculous your question was. My post was extremely ironic ;) Coldplay is a litle more rocky. Both of them are not very alternative, maybe a little. But as I said, those distinctions are somewhat subjective and arbitrary.
  10. No, I have two of them signed by the band's singer and went to Travis and Fran Healy concerts but never listened to a single song of one of their albums. That's why I referred to them.
  11. Just read their agrument on page 4 (-5). Good n8 everyone =)
  12. @Mark: My last post wasn't referred to you =) @Lore: Opinions ;) Well, I'm out of here for now and let you stay in the belief you knew everything better than anyone else in here.
  13. Did you read my post? I did say Coldplay is Pop, but not only. There are some sligt differences between Travis and Coldplay. Travis: Pop, with some singer/songwriter elements Coldplay: Just what I said I talk about Travis' "The Man Who", "The Invisible Band" and "The Boy With No Name" because otherwise it'll be mor complicated and it's just to illustrate what I mean. And btw, I can say that ;) I'm not gonna feel offended and I think Fix42YellowClocks went a little over the top but I can easily see how people can feel offended by some of your posts.
  14. Replace fan with believer (or being convinced, with regards to politics) and you can easily convey this to religion, politics or anything else. And what's important then is, whether you're open for other people's differing opinions/tastes/... Uncritical worshipping is always connected with blindness. May it be love, religion, politics, being a fan or whatever. And that's not always a bad thing. One should try to be conscious of that and be tolerant. I'd say Coldplay music is Alternative Rock, Rock and Pop to some extent respectively. I remember I bought my copy of A Rush Of Blood To The Head in the "Alternative" section. With the release of X&Y (=> increasing success as a band) Coldplay has been removed to "Pop/Rock" in that very store. And I think both of it is true because they have elements of both categories. And there's nothing bad about being pop. Nearly every successful Rock band is a little poppy. cheap Pop: Boybands, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars,... Pop: The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Travis (Pop-)Rock: Foo Fighters Alternative Rock: dredg (pre- "Chuckles And Mr. Squeezy"...), ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead Alternative Rock/Pop: Placebo, Muse, Coldplay That's how I'd do it. But those things are arbitrary to a certain extent.
  15. I felt like she couldn't convey her songs to the audience that well. It seemed emotionless to me which was quite the opposite what I had expected. Though I still think she's a great musician and played very well. And I'd agree, nearly no one in the audience seemed to be affected by her (not in the way they were meant to be). Maybe I'd have appreciated her performance more if the audience had reacted some more. The little reaction seemed to reflect on her because she appeared a little insecure to me. I'm sure with a higher percentage of people cherishing her music, it would have been better. Portishead wasn't the huge crowd pleaser as well but there seemed to be much more people who enjoyed it. I think they also got more applause. And they (/the singer) seemed to be really into it every single second. An acquaintance I had spoken to later (and coincidentally met there) shared this opinion but also enjoyed PJ's performance. Depends on the festival. And then it depends on the festival and its audience what they find enjoyable (/entertaining). I agree with that, of course. =)
  16. Music and concerts don't need to be entertaining necessarily ;) But PJ just didn't work there. Fair enough.
  17. Yep. And anyway, it's a festival. Everybody knew who'd perform there. I've been to so many parties with shit music and soon I'll have to see 30 Seconds To Mars for the third time. After all, when you see one of you favourites afterwards, it's worth it.
  18. At some points I found it a little funny during PJ Harvey and once she even laughed about it. I'm glad it couldn't ruin the performance for me. But I know why I'd never do this myself... During Portishead it made me really angry and it was completely inappropriate and out of rhythm. It was annoying noise that overshadowed the music. Plus, the joke was over. Luckily enough, they only did it once because of many evil eyes they were given...
  19. Just saw this thread after I thought this is definitely one of their very best songs and will become another huge classic.
  20. It's so bitter to see Shiver in the setlist again... I remember when they played Green Eyes from December '08 on and just threw it out in Düsseldorf (or Warning Sign '05)...
  21. If they have 85 minutes of music and still write great new songs, maybe they should give themselves 2 more months, decrease the pressure and do a little more work to shape it until they can say: That's it! No doubt about it.
