  1. As far as I'm concerned, the album is at least nearly done. A single could easily be ready for presentation. Moreover, I never saw a clear statement that said: There won't be any new songs at the festivals. All I've seen was overinterpretation and a reaction to this that said something like "I don't think there's anything bad about playing a greatest hits set with old songs at festivals". Themes of the album are clear, the website shows that. Not only from the information in this thread, but also from the latest roadie blog it seems clear, that everything is near finished. So there must be songs that could at least be played live. => First new song(s) June, 3rd at the latest And the following day it's not too unlikely that the peformance will be televised live on German TV. So we could hear the first high quality version(s) on June, 4th.
  2. Thanks a lot for the information! A new song to be listened to all of a sudden would be a perfect marketing strategy. Everyone would be excited straight away, they'd want to listen to it at that very time and the excitement wouldn't be fading. Plus, releasing records just when they're done will be the future. Still I think the album will come with a (short?) delay. Looking forward to the next few days and weeks, escpecially the festivals, such a lot!
  3. Try it on ebay. The later, the better I'd say. You might get a 3 day ticket for 100 € in 2 weeks. If you are an o2 customer, you can already get them for 100 on o2more.de
  4. I kind of get the impression they'll do quite a short notice thing...
  5. You can't take EVERYTHING into consideration. I understand disappointments but nobody can be blamed for it
  6. 1-day tickets for Rock im Park now available. Don't expect any for Rock am Ring.
  7. ideal 90 Min festival setlist: 1. Politik 2. Yellow 3. Lost 4. White Shadows 5. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face 6. *New song* 7. Trouble 8. Green Eyes/A Message (acoustic) 9. Shiver 10. In My Place 11. Lovers In Japan 12. A Rush Of Blood To The Head 13. Clocks 14. Viva La Vida 15. Fix You Encore 16. Violet Hill 17. *New song* 18. The Scientist
  8. stage times are announced... never had so many tough overlaps there... Pete during Coldplay -.-
  9. It must be nearly finished. "No change there". It gets closer and cloer
  10. i didn't expect much more, so i'm very pleased to have a new blog =). and he indicates he's waiting for something as a basis for work on the festival tour => new songs played at festivals. shouldn't be a surprise but due to a strange atricle many people believed they wouldn't be
  11. 7 Coldplay concerts since 2005, haven't heard it once :-( A Rush Of Blood To The Head Amsterdam Shiver Green Eyes Spies Sparks Warning Sign Bigger Stronger ...
  12. Why Brandon Flowers??? Couldn't it be something good?
  13. Very good. Seems to me that the festival dates are supposed to be the finish line and that they're right on time. I'd be surprised if the festivals weren't the first (one of the first) step(s) of album promotion, despite everything that has been said before.
  14. Maybe they didn't know it themselves.
  15. Damn. I have not expected anything like this happening this year...
  16. 1. There's nothing bad about mainly playing a greatest hits/best of set at festivals. We might get to hear some old songs they haven't done for a while. Festival tours are different than album tours. 2. "There definitely won't be anything new before Glastonbury and their summer dates" This is the only statement the wholes article and this discussion is based upon. Where does the source, quoted by the Daily Star, say they wouldn't play new songs at the festivals???
  17. The headline suggests something very different to the actual content. It just says there won't be new stuff before their festival performances. I'd even say the headline should be "New material at Glastonbury"
  18. I'm fine with that. The Coldplay LP5 phase starts in June anyway. At the festivals I suppose they'll do a greatest hits/best of set with some new songs. A lot of (great) bands have done that before and it worked.

You're right. Low has been played a few times, though.

Amsterdam A Rush Of Blood To The Head Spies Shiver Prospekt's March Sparks I Ran Away See You Soon Green Eyes Warning Sign Daylight Crest Of Waves Also great (but already heard live): White Shadows, Square One, A Message (though I'd prefer the Haiti version), Don't Panic, Trouble, Swallowed In The Sea
  21. Don't really understand why Prospekt's March isn't on VLV. I reckon it one of their best songs. I'm sure they'll bring back some brilliant ballads
