Coldplagiarism
?? I'd say they went pop after rush of blood. First two records were more alt-rock, and X&Y/VLV = pop. although they did try to flirt with a bit of experimentation in VLV.. that song vida la vida is pure pop perfection

[Pictures] 6th December 2008: Chris Martin Leaving London Home
i really think jonny/guy/will got the best end of the deal. they get the fame and riches of being in coldplay without the paps pestering them 24/7 like they do to poor chris.

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
Don't Panic (Blue Room EP). I like this version better than Parachutes, especially the way he sings "we live --- in a beautiful world" instead of "we - live - in a beautiful world". and his voice sounds so much more fragile here, i love this song so much AHHH

Absolute Radio Rock-Off - SEMI-FINALS - COLDPLAY V GREEN DAY
i love origin of symmetry and absolution was good too but i don't really like the last record. :S but i don't think it sucks as much as x&y *ducks* still.. gonna have to vote coldplay on this one

Guitarist Joe Satriani sues Coldplay for plagiarism
the man is suing coldplay, why on earth would he adhere to 'polite' coldplay statement?! i don't think chris plagiarized (could he be so dumb??! to think he could get away with it if he really had plagiarized?), just an unfortunate coincidence.

They were probably made aware of the statement being published on their website, but they probably weren't involved with coming up with that statement, is probably what the other poster was getting at. Which is probably true.

By the way, which coldplay ticket is $60? Granted I haven't gone to coldplay shows since 2003 but back then, five years ago, I remember paying approx. $60.

Why worry, people? Coldplay = rich, I'm sure they could easily hire the most expensive lawyers in the world and win this case. All from the money the die hard fans pour on these guys.

Download Lhuna (duet with Kylie) on Monday! [1/12/08 World Aids day]
Lhuna = amazing i am astonished that so many people do not appreciate this song. i agree with chris and i'd think he knows what he's talking about when he praised this song. it is definitely too sexy for a coldplay record and better as a stand alone. listen to it on repeat for 20x (or more) and i think then you'll know how awesome and addictive this song is.

Dare I say that Prospekt's March is Better than VLV?
actually, it gets more interesting if you put in on repeat. i listened to this song on repeat throughout the whole night this one time i couldn't go to sleep. it was pretty damn amazing.

Dare I say that Prospekt's March is Better than VLV?
+ EASY TO PLEASE!!!! one of the best coldplay song ever.

Dare I say that Prospekt's March is Better than VLV?
Prospekts March (the song) alone >>>> VLV this song re-confirmed my love for coldplay, the kind i had when i spent my teenage years listening to Brothers & Sisters EP/Parachutes

Rewriting a Coldplay Song: The Story Behind 42 (Rolling Stone article)
yeah the middle part does remind me a bit of sit down stand up, so it's a good thing that guy pointed it out, since i'm guessing it was even worse before (similarity). but the 3rd part (2:50 mark) of 42 sounds like ANOTHER radiohead song, namely this one: (wait until around 1:15) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9_ngO76bso]YouTube - Radiohead - Cuttooth[/ame]

Coldplay's Viva-Jet™
do they really need such a huge jet? that is rather large for one band, i don't care if they are 'biggest' band in the world. i guess since they are all millionaires they can do whatever they want but still.

Ken Nelson not Eno.
john leckie!! and create something really sinister like Origin of Symmetry or a classic like The Bends

Could "Strawberry Swing" be THE Coldplay song that STANDS THE TEST OF TIME?
i loved it on my first listen, but now it's a bit boring. i would hope that THE coldplay song that stands the test of time would be POLITIK!!

Your developed feeling about VLVODAAHF
the lyrics to lost bother me as well, especially when he goes "you might be a big fish // in a litttle pond!" and what follows after..just sounds a bit lame. and 42 i could do without also, it just shows their poor attempt at trying to create an epic-like multiple part song (that actually does not flow and thus does not work) and i skip Yes because the string section i find rather frightfully annoying.. i don't know what's going on there. however i really like life in technicolor, cemeteries, chinese sleep chant.. those are great. strawberry swing is good too.
-
Your developed feeling about VLVODAAHF
frankly i am bored with it now and find myself going back to Rush of Blood to the head.. no offence, Viva is a solid album and is better than most shit out there but doesn't bring out emotions/feelings like Rush of blood does to me. Tracks like Politik, A rush of blood to the head, The scientist, etc. alone are better than VLV in its entirety.

What do you think about the running time of "Viva La Vida" tour concerts???
you really ought to stop analyzing others' posts piece by piece, as if it's some sort of SAT question. some people are let down by the length of the show and the breadth of the songs, which takes away the fun of multiple concert attendance. that is really all we want to say. coldplay is one of the biggest if not the biggest band right now, not some young inexperienced band experiencing massive attention all of a sudden. like what jonny said in one interview, they've been around for more than 10 years, although age wise they are still considered 'young'. if you've been to concerts by bands as acclaimed as coldplay, you'd know where the complaints are coming from. some people are so blinded by their love for the band that they try to make the lamest excuses i.e. "they are tired", "they are young band". don't get so defensive, this is just an online forum where fans express their opinions. it's a bit silly of you to think people who express disappointments are doing so in the hopes of getting their voices heard to the band. it's called a discussion, so relax buddy.

i guess some people here are very Easy to Please. try seeing other bands in the same league (or above) as coldplay, without the confetti.

Viva La Vida Tour - Disapointing Set Lists
1 encore is almost borderline not appreciating the fans. it's as if they refuse to deviate from a set of songs they practiced or something.
