I agree with you, that they are different. I think they were only "similar" back in the days when Coldplay came out with Parachutes (lovely album!). They both use falsetto, true, but there is something about Thom Yorke's falsetto that just.. I don't know, it cannot be compared with Christ Martin's falsetto.

i bet this was gwyneth's idea. :D it's their earned money so they can do what they want, but then when you think of dying children in africa and really unfortunate people like that, it's too bad that rich folks like chris and gwyneth and other celebs mostly end up spending money for themselves.

He he those two are in my top 5.. i will give up both X&Y and VLV albums to keep those two songs in my Coldplay folder XD anyway I forgot to mention YES on my dislike list because i think i actually deleted that song - i can't stand the strings/guitar riff thingy that pops up frequently in the song, i think it is one of the most annoying/unnecessary little tune i have ever heard in my life and too bad it's a coldplay song. i also forgot to mention "Talk"

songs i dislike: 1. 42 (this song tries hard at being brilliant but fails) 2. Speed of sound (when Chris goes "birds come flying.." i cringe and press FF) 3. white shadows (just don't like this song) 4. The Hardest Part (just don't like this one either) i have more but i'll stop.. but generally i don't think there is any song i dislike in Parachutes and AROBTTH - love 'em

@mc^2: One shouldn't be so quick to dismiss Radiohead music as merely 'depressing'. Despite the not-so-uplifting melodies, their music is er- allow me to state the obvious - so brilliant and amazing that you feel happy and hopeful in the midst of sad melodies. But to be honest.. maybe I love RH music because I am kinda neurotic to begin with. But seriously, you are a Coldplay fan and if you like Parachutes (songs like Spies, Don't Panic, whatever else) I don't see why you would not be interested in RH's earlier works too, like The Bends.

I would take emily over leslie feist any day. :D but then i am biased since i've been to emily's solo gigs twice and never saw feist i love her EP more than the full length though... and i love metric's first record , as with 2nd and 3rd, i think the latest one is a bit too rock-ish for me but still cool!

no.. not so much.. i used to post on coldplay's official message board a long time ago, with parachutes-ish design?? not sure what happened to that board though - and then i kind of stopped keeping up. to be honest part of the reason i come here is to get some radiohead news, via this thread; i post at atease too but there are so many asses there EDIT: btw is that Emily Haines in your avatar?? i love it... love her she's so cooool @ricardo..well it's an awesome song!! heheheh

Well I didn't know people here would be so eager to pick apart my posts for saying something of such little significance. You'd think a typical forum reader would just overlook it or naturally think it as being harmless. Anyway, off-topic, so moving on..

don't put words into my mouth, i never said coldplay was shitty. it's just that, recently i realized whenever i listen to coldplay songs i never really think much about his part - i remember chris's singing, jonny's riffs, etc.. anyway never mind.
