Any songs you would like Coldplay to cover?
seconded.. also, i think chris would sound good in travis songs. but i can't see coldplay covering radiohead - imagine chris singing paranoid android?? and who will cover jonny greenwood's guitar parts?? no offense but i think he's in a different league than jonny buckland

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
i think it's good that Guy is so good looking, otherwise he'd be just another bass player

Radiohead
I think IR is one of those albums that sound better live, in a concert setting .. one of my fav. concert momentss was when they were playing Arpeggi live in an outdoor venue and it was pouring rain and really cloudy and dark and the atmosphere was incredible.. whereas I enjoy listening to songs like Fake Plastic Trees alone with my headphones on, in private @ The Oracle: 'that's probably the case' ??? excuse me that IS the case

Radiohead
thanks!! yeah ive been complaining a lot and someone on this board linked me to this guy who cleaned up the old live mp3s.., not sure if it's the same artist though.. anyway, i think In Rainbows is a better made album overall, but there are certain songs in albums like The Bends and Ok Computer which mean so much more to me and I would take those few songs over IR any day. But that could also be because I have certain memories/feelings attached to those songs.. what is your fav. album? i like HTTT more than IR.

Radiohead
i know he plays piano in the studio version of Videotape but it doesn't have that same, yearning feel (don't know how to explain it??).. or at least that is how i felt when i saw them during 2006 tour... and yes i miss the glockenspiel (old version of nude).. you know when a song is sooo heartbreakingly sad yet beautiful at the same time?? that is no longer there, at least not to me! but they are still my fav. band :D :D :D

Radiohead
5 times.. 3 times in toronto, 1 in california (coachella), 1 in germany and i am not in love with in rainbows but what can you do... it seems my disappointment with Nude and Videotape will never fade. edit: but its not as bad as when i first heard X&Y - that was a heartbreaking moment

Things people who claim to be a coldplay fan should NEVER say
"VLV is so innovating it should win all awards"
-
Coldplay @ GRAMMY Awards 2009 | Performed Lost & Viva La Vida | WON 3 AWARDS! [PICTURES/VIDEOS IN FI
for Coldplay, VLV *is* pretty advanced and innovating. seriously, listen to X&Y, then VLV. relatively speaking, that's really a big step forward. but then i think x&y was rubbish so :\

Dark Coldplay
i absolutely love this song to death. this is a bit extreme but possibly the only reason I still hold on to this band. it's so genius. as for dark and haunting: other b-sides like I ran away, Bigger stronger.. and some parachutes/rush of blood songs like SPIES, Politik, etc. Personally, I think their "dark" phase ended with Rush of blood album. I don't find anything on X&Y to be dark and haunting, alas. As for VLV, perhaps cemeteries.. that song is also genius.

Radiohead
yeah the Towering above the rest version is pretty good.. but I think someone removed some clapping noise and things and created a cleaner version, for anal picky person like me :D to be honest the change is pretty minimal personally i don't listen to PH much.. for me it has too much guitar when it comes to the 1st album i prefer coldplay more. :)

Radiohead
i have a pretty decent version of Lift and it sounds pretty damn good!!

Post-Rock Bands
I haven't listened to EITS in a while.. but I love the track The only moment we were alone. Another band worth checking out is Windy & Carl

so lucky!! i would not be able to formulate any words and would just stand there like a complete fool if i ever got a chance to talk to Thom.

Radiohead
I was disappointed with how it turned out in In Rainbows :( :( :( But not as disappointed as I was with NUDE/BIG IDEAS. '98 live version was possibly my ultimate favourite Radiohead song and I was going nuts over the fact that it was going to be part of In Rainbows except it was.. such a let down.. no glockenspiel.. unnecessary outro.. i could go on forever .. oh well.

The Thom Yorke Thread
i can only say one thing.. don't give up on this record!!

The Thom Yorke Thread
I have the KCRW version, which I can send to you if you give me your email but I think it sounds best live.. Thom played it during their last tour [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrhDyCRA2E8]YouTube - radiohead cymbal rush jonny - colin 4.10.08 Tokyo Japan - first row[/ame]

The Thom Yorke Thread
i hate when thom fucks shit up like he did to Cymbal Rush studio version. i was so excited after hearing the live version but so irritated when i got the album. i don't care for his fondness for all things electro. to me it sounds like shit.

How much money have you spent on Coldplay?
2x parachutes CD ($30) 1x rush of blood CD ($15) 1x t-shirt ($25) 3x posters ($30) 1x concert in 2003 ($49 plus $8 TM fee) a little less than $160 CDN.. In hindsight I shouldn't have bought the posters and tshirt.. had 2 up on my wall for a while and never really wore the shirt

99 Anthems is so good.

Coldplay in Time Magazine's Year in Review: "It's still uncool" to like Coldplay
Back in the olden days of Parachutes, it was pretty cool to like Coldplay. They were considered more or less indie/alternative and only a small group of people actually knew about them outside of UK, but with ROBTTH, things started going downhill for Coldplay fans, as they started going uphill (in terms of popularity). And everyone, who is afraid of not being taken seriously by proclaiming that they are a Coldplay fan, will maintain the usual "I like Parachutes, but everything else really sux." statement. And I can't say I disagree whole heartedly with that statement, although ROBTTH (I think) is also good. Why everyone thinks it's uncool to be a coldplay fan probably doesn't have everything to do with the fact that the band has gotten so big, so commercial, so mainstream. There are bigger bands out there, and I don't think people give you just as much shit for liking, say U2.
