  1. But the Lounge is part of the Coldplaying forum - it's a place for those who care enough about the band to bother to join, make friends, and post so as to continue their discussions in a more relaxed way, no? And whether it's your intention or not this all reflects back on the forum as a whole (and, specifically, all the other members). Oh well, it's easy to write more, but I'll just let this thread full of bad manners towards other (entirely innocent) places on the internet speak for itself. :embarassed:
  2. You're a mod here? :inquisitive:
  3. Either one or two was agreed (one with hometown or country stuff, and/or another one).
  4. Why should everyone have to constantly check the first post just to see if something that had already been decided - an agreed date posted - been changed?* I don't think they should have to. And it's only a day. * Unless it's something very major and very important. And gets a very major and important update!!
  5. My favourite ever Coldplay song (and that is saying a huge amount, indeed) but I'm starting to fear I'll never hear it again live as long as I live... signed
  6. And you've done an incredible job my friend - not only in organising everything, but also in listening to everyone's views, and always trying to be as democratic as possible :)
  7. Imho, the date shouldn't be changed, definitely not. This thread's so confusing, just because it's so big, and information is hard enough to find already. There may be people working hard on this who don't check in here every hour, or even every day, to find that the date's changed. It's only a day anyway, isn't it?
  8. No need to worry about that, I'll already have let them know. Spamming/trolling of other sites is pathetic, childish, and totally against the spirit of the band we all claim to love and admire so much. :embarassed:
  9. Poll added (and the result so far with my one vote is clear hehe). Please vote, also convince me more that I'm wrong!
  10. Great points, kimchi! Now where is the Long Arm of the Lore?? :laugh3:
  11. Brilliant!! :D This is my worry. I saw them twice in London in June, and that was the feeling (as I described) this much-loved song gave me - too 'cool' and under-appreciated (even though those dates were at the height of its release, arguably). Come December, that's a lot more time for the casual fans to forget the track even more. I should think that in the States you get a lot of people who really love the band at the gigs, whereas here they're a household name. Everybody wants to see them even though they know only 'Clocks' etc - just so that they can tell people they were at the gig. This wonderful song's not on the radar for many such people, alas :(
  12. Interesting 2732, thanks for the input. You've seen them this tour I take it, and it well down very well with the crowd and really started the party mood? I'm so glad to hear that :) I just worry because here in the UK it only got a few weeks airtime before Viva was released, and after that radio-wise it's been completely forgotten (such is the all-powerful Viva, lol) To my mind that's a great shame - it's a cracking song. Even at the June gigs it didn't get much of a reception, despite being the first and much-awaited return of the band, though it was of course a decent singalong at the start and end. Anyway thanks again, you've given me hope it may yet rock the crowd in December :) Anyone else?
  13. I think this thread needs a reboot - or a new one started from scratch with where we're up to right now. So many important points are lost in the pages that people can't find them. Actually a reboot would do, all pertinent points up till now collated in one big post (hopefully soon).
  14. Second or third song, right? It feels 'cold' to me when they play it so early. At least, it did when I saw the band twice in June, and I'd been hoping they'd fixed it by now. But I've (obviously!!) been reading the reviews of every gig, and just now had a PM from a friend here who saw them just a few nights ago and said the very same thing... I really don't think this magnificent song should be one used to warm up the crowd. For a start, it doesn't do that at all. It seems just to keep them lukewarm (if that) after LiT - till the temperature rises later. I think it's not one to get people going and set their hearts on fire so early on, but would be a great crowdpleaser later on when everyone's already riding that high. Not quite an arena singalong like VLV, but pretty close, in the right spot. Much love for this one is going untapped, and it pains me. Thoughts?
  15. The third leg's about to start, and we've still had not a single 'proper' gig yet in the UK - it's absolutely rotten. I was lucky enough to get to Brixton and the BBC - I can't imagine how you other guys are feeling four months in - Coldplay anorexia I should think :( The band surely owe us UKers big time next year (along with Oz, Asia, South America, Africa (and Europe?)) :embarassed:
  16. Perhaps someone outside the UK can check when they go to the post office. Maybe I remembered that wrong anyway (there've been so many posts now!) - did we decide to let people put the two in one envelope to protect them? Also, should we go back and change our posts with the exact address of the Bakery now? Perhaps that's bening two careful, but the only thing that worried me about all this was that we might increase post there A LOT more than having the only the fans who visit dropping in the odd letter. (odd as in 'occasional' not as in 'strange' - I hope!) Just a thought, seems considerate to the band...
  17. They probably do in many, if not all countries, I guess. But I've had busy staff forget before and have had to remind them. Also, some people might buy the stamps and take them home to attach later and send from a local letterbox (I've made that mistake too many times in the past as well!). It's not a rule by itself as such, but perhaps some sort of little reminder would be best? Is it also worth mentioning you can put two postcards in an envelope if you want to protect them a bit better, or save on postage? Other than that, great work Chelsea :) 'Email sticker'? Whatever do you mean?? (Edited hehe, thanks a lot :embarassed::D)
  18. 7. If sending by airmail, make sure you attach an 'airmail' sticker on the written side adjacent to the address. Otherwise your postcards will probably be sent by sea, and arrive weeks or not months too late!
  19. I wonder if God said the same thing on the eighth day?!
  20. A brilliant idea, I couldn't have come up with a better one myself...oh wait, I did come up with that idea :laugh3:
  21. Go Debs! And all hail the long arm of the Lore!! :crown:
  22. Thanks Lore. I'd love to be the Postman if I could, as I wrote long ago, but I can't promise that weekend (because my sister is due to have a baby around then). If the baby is early, or late, then I can try to help of course, but you'll need to ask me much nearer the time. But that is not why I wrote my post like that! It was sarcastic, because while it is important to plan well and to think of every eventuality, there is TOO much planning here, too much unnecessary over-complication! It's as simple as I wrote!! Contact Debs asap. Get the project off the ground, and the postcards assembled. get someone positive and headstrong to be the Post(wo)man (and you may have found her already!) and just get things moving!! From an exasperrated kimchi:laugh3:
