Lovely thread, lovely story! I was there that day, and shed a tear myself when they started up LiT I must say. Luckily I'd parked myself at the back of the crowd away from the cameras so the only time I was seen on screen was the back of my head hehe.. I went wild as usual though during Lovers in Japan, hidden in the confetti clouds :)
  2. I'm getting soooo excited about this particular gig, and really hope this thread will get a bit more active towards the gig and especially on the night itself!!
  3. An astonishingly badly-written review, but hopefully the leak is on the way :)
  4. All the best to you fella, all my thoughts are with you, your good family, and your faithful companion you have been so lucky to have. It may not be much help right now, probably nothing is, but one fine day when the sun finally comes out again you will find it true I'm sure: I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. (From Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem In Memoriam:27, 1850) Big hugs :) kimchi
  5. I think it's safest to assume that anything on this thread will NOT be any sort of surprise to Debs. If you want it to definitely be a surprise that would have to be organised off-board.
  6. Can they play Glass of Water without either a rhythm guitar or piano? I thought that was why we hadn't heard it since Albert's last night.

  8. The third major setlist change, arguably, and the UK hasn't yet had the chance to see any of them

  10. Confetti bumpetti. cherrio! really hope someone will be kind enough to get some to you from the gig you went to :)
  11. You're sharpening your techniques? Chris will/should be quaking in his (New York) bed lol :laugh3:
  12. I always wanna visit Japan, but no time so much as when I listen to this. My Osaka sun is calling to me, always :cool: I'll teach ya when you visit London Kels, show you in about five minutes :) (Then there'll be no excuses not to visit for the cherry blossoms hehe :P)
  13. Weren't we told before the album was released that it's around five minutes?
  14. Organic weetabix and/or bananas (breakfast of elephants)
  15. LOVED the live version - thought it was even going to beat LiJ, Politik and Warning Sign into first place right there, but don't much care for the studio version snippet we've heard so far...it lacks the power and urgency of the live one imho....:(
  16. Eno's been kicking ass!! Had Straw over the barrel on the 'dodgy dossier' earlier, even had a signed copy from him :D A very interesting, articulate fellow who it'd be a pleasure to converse with. You can see what the lads see in him, and on this evidence Chris won't be letting him go anywhere for LP5
  17. Ooh Eno's straight in with his 'toxic Fox news' (won the last election) comment (why isn't the 'carnival of idiots' video playing in the background eh?) hehe
  18. Come on Brian, show us your poppy(fields) :D lol 'the woman at the back, yes...or is it a man' 'i'm a man, yes'
  19. Eno's there, looking very dashing with his poppy :) So, who's there in the audience then eh to ask the more important questions?
  20. Completely agree, and the last part is a very good idea. I'll just say, again, that I think after Chrismas is too late. Not only will the project lose some of the considerable steam it's built up, but it's also going to be long, long after Postcards, and the whole EP in fact, is released, which is the band's final incredible pressie to us at the end of this so-memorable year.
  21. Just a bump to remind UK viewers that Brian Eno was supposed to be on Question Time tonight, if no-one managed to get tickets to ask about Famous Old Parsnips then it may well still be interesting :)
  22. I agree with 'I don't wanna die on my own here tonight'. And I read on one of the other threads that that might be from the Poppyfields half and not Prospekt's March itself, and if so :stunned:
  23. A little bit disappointed with Glass of Water after falling in love with the (kindly aggregated by I-forget-who-sorry) live version, so it's Rainy Day for me. Now i'm most anticipating Poppy Fields.
  24. Lol I know the theme I'll be using for this year's Chrismas cards, it's settled :D
