  1. thanks! i forgot this post existed after 9 months.
  2. what? I didn't make a negative comment about your song sounding the same, I shared a similar story. Did you even read my post? (Maybe it was too long...)
  3. I know what you mean, several years ago I wrote a simple chorus of three chords that I liked, but I was never able to find a good place for it in any of my songs. I'm a big Radiohead fan, and when I heard one of Radiohead's unreleased songs, Videotape, I knew it sounded familiar. The majority of the song is based on three chords... the SAME chords I had used in my previous composition! They were in the exact same order and everything. Not only that, but my idea had been to use my delay pedal's reverse delay function to have some kind of reverse guitar part going, and at the end of Videotape, the piano and guitars are run through a similar effects pedal to make that sound. I'm not trying to take credit for writing such an amazing song like Videotape, but I was just shocked when I heard it and realised how similar it is to something I had written. Anyway, this post got a bit long... sorry. Also, my music is in my signature here, so you can check it out if you'd like to.
  4. wow, i listen to both groups, i've heard both songs many times, and i never figured out the connection there. it's not a completely blatant ripoff but it sounds really similar in many places.
  5. the music sounds great, petra. anyway, i occasionally post new material on my myspace profile to which there is a link below.
  6. both Simon Harris and I were musicians featured on the How We See the World album. I thought those of you who know about it might be interested in hearing two collaborations Simon and I have done. Both are currently on my myspace profile, which is... http://myspace.com/ifiifi. I am thankful for the CCC for providing me with the opportunity to make this music with Simon. Anyway, I just thought I'd share it with you since it involves two people from the How We See the World album. the songs are called "Sing With Me" and "Meaning of Life."
  7. if you've heard any of my music you've heard the piano soundfonts that i use. i have 3 that i use often, and i think they sound pretty good. if you're interested in these, get a hold of me either here or myspace or email or something.
  8. that's a weak ice cream cone but it'll do. i look forward to hearing your concert recording!

  10. That's how I am. Reading a tab or sheet music gets me more confused than just listening and playing it by ear.
  11. i couldn't find any good pictures of me; the only one i could find was when i was on vacation once, so here it is: if you're curious as to where that is... it's the badland national park in south dakota, usa.
  12. well, i mentioned that win butler was the star rather than the entire band standing out. it's just my opinion but they seemed like a group acting as one rather than a group led by win butler, and that's what they lost, that quality to their music. like i said, it's just my opinion, and the album is still very good.
  13. neon bible seems like the win butler show, but it's still good. i just feel like arcade fire lost one of the things that made them so great on funeral. neon bible is a very good CD with several good songs on it, but I don't like it as much as funeral.
  14. a floor monitor probably would yes. that of course depends on the quality, but chances are it will sound better.
  15. i'd say that a floor monitor would work fine but you still wouldn't be able to get the exact sound you want out of it. if you want to buy a keyboard amp, try http://www.musiciansfriend.com if you're from the usa. there are some that are just over $100. i hope this helps
