  1. yeah publishing...me a lazy bum too! I've never tried to get any of my stuff published, will try one day  I did have one published recently tho, the editor approached me at that site (he posts there too under the name Hopper) heres a link if you'd like to check it out: http://www.whistlingshade.com/0203/cadiz.html yeah it's a good little site, some good writers there :)
  2. hate actually *annoys me when i catch myself using it too!..it doesnt actually mean anything in a sentence, actually (see?) brassiere, pants, undergarments *no wonder we people say bras and knickers :P foreigner

  6. this is one of my early ones: What is there left to say? An open mouth forms icicles, words crippled and paralyzed, crushed by the weight of a drama in my mind. Tidal waves shatter in silence, blood and ice spray the empty canvas of my thoughts, like a genius in a frenzy like a dishonered master in search of retribution, seeking solution though the problem is misidentified. What is there left to say? today ends like tommorrow, on a calender page, in a fit of rage, like a red curtain on a stage. What is there left to say? is something owed? Something stolen once borrowed? Without identification it's never put back inside me where it belongs, intact or broken. So when today meets tommorrow, no words are spoken.
  7. wow that's very very good...when i was 14 i probably didnt even know what poetry was! I didnt even start writing poetry till i was 19 :) The last 3 lines are especially good..yeah know that feeling :(
  8. Hi :) since you're Polish thought you might like to hear this, the book says "the word for left in Polish (lewo) conveys the idea of "illegal" and is often used to refer to a sneaky underhanded trick  I like the Romany word for it tho, "bongo" :D
  9. oooh a lefty thread :) i'm a lefty as well...and since i'm a book freak :o i've got some books about leftys! there's this one called The Left Hander, which gets waay in-depth, theories and such..won't bore you too much with it but there's some interesting stuff in it like: the right hemisphere of our brain is the source of our creativity, it gives us our sense of art, form, line, space, our appreciation of music ;) , tone and harmony as well as emotion, and empathy. no wonder i love music, art, writing and am doing a graphic design degree :) according to the book's surveys: people with blonde hair (like me) are twice as likely to be left handed than are people with other colored hair vegetarians are more likely to be left handed fewer left handed people can roll their tongue :P (tho i can do it) also we're more likely to be smokers and drinkers...on the downside (like smoking & drinking aint bad at all :o ) it says we're more likely to suffer from depression and that left handedness is connected to a variety of problems that have strongly negative health implications!! sorry to bring you down! :( ...but then this is vague all people suffer from these things unfortunately...

  12. Yy'ello all :) I've been aware of coldplay for over 3 years now, back when they were a support band, but never saw them..have to admit at first hearing trouble and yellow and liking them I wasn't a real follower..until friends started raving about them that is..and as I heard more I liked more..only wished i'd done it sooner to have seen them live..I also bought Parachutes after AROBTTH 'cause I, cheapskate that I am got it 2nd hand ;) aaaanyways, I was hooked bigtime with the thumping piano of Politik and then finally got round to seeing them live on the 16th @ E.C. and now it's 'game set & match Martin' :) They really do have to be experienced in person...now I walk around going aaaaahahahahahyeeeaaah hhheeeaaaayaayaa tell me your own politiiiiiiiiaaaaiikk :P

Well, to be a complete geek here... i read through this and was interested in the term's origin so did a little search and found: the first use of the phrase in the Omaha (Nebraska, USA) Herald in 1889: There is as much whisky consumed in Iowa now as there was before..."for medical purposes only," and on the boot-leg plan. A bootleg refers to the long leather boots worn by cowboys in the Old West. They were used to store all manner of illicit goods, including an extra gun, a bowie knife, or a flask of moonshine. then i read a few more links and saw that Tom said is correct and that according to "international law" (people are gonna think i'm fbi now :o ) it is illegal to sell them but yet legal to own them :-o :-o so then?... I guess we're all ok then downloading these things as there's no selling involved...no one I know's ever got busted buying anyways :D I doubt it's ever enforced..far more severe crimes being committed out there!
  14. and proclaimed himself to be the son of god
  15. :-o :-o :-o Wally 2? Wally 3?? Pickles??!! Britney Spears songs???? What happened to bubba? Wait there he is, bubba picks up the mic & belts out kareoke (sp?) classic My Way followed by Oops I did it again...then..(this is getting ridiculous) the lights went out...
  16. ("those cats was fast as lightnin'!!) :D Then he, who shall remain nameless no more, let's call him bubba, then bubba attempted a flying dropkick into the buffet table and is now in traction..hence our story switches to george, bubba's bald middle aged chess champion cousin who likes to wear headbands and aviators; bubba is in the corner giving a reading from his prize winning autobiography Rooked Again when suddenly...
  17. Cheers :D it seems like home, home where i wanted to go, home :) think i'll stick around for a while...may disappear for a bit on the 28th to finish uni but i'll be back...thanks for the welcome
  18. Oooh :( for sure, understandable pre-pubescent rage! here's a "crush" poem i wrote: Susanne, have you ever seen two stars fall in mirrored arches?--Lambent flares gliding through a failing light, only to wane then vanish. In you I saw a celestial form draped in floral dresses, old cardigans and army boots. In those eyes I saw Jupiter afloat on an ivory sea. I hung on your words like a damp checkered shirt flailing on a winter line, waited for you to take me in to dry. Susanne, you and I will look up one night and see the two of us sifted from stardust.
  19. (there were other pages?? :-o :D) master advanced yoga (??!)
  20. oooh, vicious poem :o :D I wouldn't have wanted to cross you back then! I loved knight rider as a kid :)

  22. yep good ol' david! Always good for a laugh! :P
  23. ahaha yeeeaaah...lets lighten the mood... Oh David (An Ode to Hasselhoff) Oh David, they say you absconded from the reprehensible Baywatch, but we're not here to speak of such horrors... I felt for you, your artistic torment- always overshadowed by silicone. David, Oh David, resplendent in the cathode's glow, cable is so fickle dear boy, and one day you will surely go. So if that fateful day does come- the last broadcast of your cauliflower mullet and leather attire, my mournful head will droop as I retire... to my basement for marathon sessions of taped Knight Rider classics. Oh David, we'll always have Germany where record sales still astound; for tis a curious favorite son they've found. Alas David, the demon drink may have claimed you now, though one day they'll make you the patron saint of rehab; but should you ever fall from grace and need another round I'll shout out aloud: "Don't you know who he is?!" and gladly pick up the tab.
