  15. ok more coldplay action... Sing it out now Wrap it in strands of candy floss Feed me, I need a little sugar I want candy coated pills Of you to take when I get blue And when the fever strikes me Yellow Sing it back now Drink it in like ruby wine Seeps into the veins Washes over the mind Undulates in waves
  16. Excellent, good to see such artistry :D Ok this is one of my older ones, exuse the length..I'm fond of it because it's mostly direct and a little quirky/unusual I call it Minutes From A Curious Allure Happy reading, enjoy... I practice my look in the mirror, that long double take when i’ll catch the pursing of those ruby lips but see the solvency of your eyes- pockets of teal sunken in the pale- and wonder if there lies a lonely girl, well heeled, but girlish still. I imagine you a taut petiole plucked from the pumice of night, twisting on a parquet floor at a ball, or a coiled honeysuckle waiting for the season to begin. Though even if it never does i’ll still willfully submerge myself in the carbon aftertaste of your rosewater breath should you decide upon a garage entombment, slumped in that old chrome lined glass casket on wheels clad with rust and varicolored panels. You see for years i’ve watched, from a carefully measured distance, you welcome crimson blisters onto tired feet and splice them on rose thorns while running barefoot through the gardens, forcing nervous laughter each time pretty girls you call friends wrap their fingers in barbed wire then pay you backhanded compliments. Last week’s gauzes still hang from the lines, soaking in the rain. Fat droplets off the cloths usher you into adulthood, reddening the grass. Maybe it would be the methyl sting behind my eyes, your snake-like thighs framed in the leather interior, or a toxic halo set above you, but something would make me gaze at the limestone plane of your face and those involute tendrils hung from its rafters as we arrive late for the wrecking ball so early in the twilight.
  17. Some great choices here so far. So many I could put...how 'bout "Well I hear that Laurel Canyon is full of famous stars but I hate them worse than lepers and i'll kill them in their cars" :o :o :o Neil Young at his most seething! "If I could hold on to just one thought For long enough to know Why my mind is moving so fast And the conversation is slow" "Don't let it bring you down It's only castles burning, Just find someone who's turning And you will come around." both Neil Young "Shes a sad tomato" Michael Stipe "Will I see you tonight on a downtown train" Tom Waits "I could drink a case of you" Joni Mitchell and yep gotta hand it to ol' axel rose, love this: "She's got a smile that it seems to me Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything Was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face She takes me away to that special place And if I stared too long I'd probably break down and cry" and one more from Neil :) "I am lonely but you can free me All in the way that you smile" and the awesome My Morning Jacket! The Way That He Sings "why's it so strange when they say that the world's movin upwards? Why's it surreal when my hands feel they cant roll the dice? Why's it so great just to wake every day, alive and by your side. It's a mystery I guess, there's lots of things I cant find. Its not the way that you look, but your move that catches my eye. Why's it so soft when the cannons unload on the others? Why're we so loud when we say it wont happen to us? Why does my mind blow to bits every time they play that song? It's just the way that he sings, not the words that he says, or the band. Im in love with this soul, it's a meaning that I understand." Xmas Curtain "hey! The Christmas curtain falls on lawbreakers that pave the way for thoughtless folks like me and j who'd pay, but cant afford the finer things in life so we heist them all.. we're criminals that never break the law! So, to all you frowns go down to town square and get some action, from the xmas girl that lives inside your womb. She's always there I think that im certain, you pay to get behind her Christmas curtain. you're the criminal that never breaks the law!"
  18. Yeah, the more the merrier, there should be a whole forum dedicated to it :D
  19. Both very cool! Some great lines in that 1st one esp. "Pick me out from beneath the thorns" nice, very nice and I love the line "Before the ants and wondering kittens do away with me" Quirky, but in a good way :-D Quirky appeals to me...ah more spiderweb themes! Seems popular for cp poems :D Bonus points for mentioning In My Place, my fave off of AROBTTH :) I'll try another one on the spot, here goes: rocking pendulum of skin and bone, the sound of clocks pulse in the cabinet that holds the crowd in place. The springs are coiled tight around their hearts and the sound of its beat is the soundtrack of the night I'll post some other poems later -Greg
  20. Hi All, yeah, only been here a very short time and finding this a very cool site/board, some friendly people here..have to say I didnt think i'd find a whole lot of people around my age but pleasantly suprised I was wrong :) But then I should've known- 1 sign of a great band is how they bring people of all ages/countries/walks of life together. cya around Greg
  21. thanks very much! I've got 100s and 100s so i'll post a few more maybe...just did a little one about cp, hope you like it :)
  22. how 'bout poems about coldplay? I'll try a little freestyle off the top of the head about 16/4/03 e.c. i went to: Oh, the girls in the front want "shiver," so I hear. They're draped in gossamers that the piano threads, the lights all shimmer and the singer's perched in his web. The girls cry "shiver," but the singer plays something else instead.
  23. can i butt in? :) I love poetry, have been "attempting" it for a few years now, this is one I wrote yesterday: I am pen run over your pages, blue streams between the lines I cross to be with you; contours raised above the blank space between us. I am a bootleg, with songs for you, recorded long ago from pirate stations. Light a candle, watch the rain, listen to the crackled end. Do not pay for me, though I have a price. Copy me, I am unprotected. cya around, Greg
  24. Hi All, i'm new around here. I've enjoyed reading this thread and agree with most of it too...I was there also, my 1st time seeing them and thought it was brilliant! The comments about the venue are spot on...but I got right down the front (standing) and really I wouldn't have known if we were all sittin' in a cave watchin' them 'cause I was so enraptured and captivated by them, esp. Chris who seems to go into some form of hyperaccelerated otherworldly possession at the piano :) I'd heard stories, and seen on tv the passion and energy but you really need to see it 1st hand and i'm so glad I was there, cant wait to see 'em again! Thanks for letting me relive it, it'll be playing in my head for some time to come ;) cheers Greg
  25. gotta go, nice chatting with ya, take care -Greg
