  1. When I saw Jonny at the Bakery back in November I asked about Famous Old Painters and he was pretty adamant that it would never see the light of day. Sad because it's so darn intriguing.
  2. Sydney Swing? Brisbane Lights? Magic In Melbourne? It would be awesome indeed.
  3. I'm undecided. Lovers In Japan is an amazing song, so is Death And All His Friends, both of which I thought sounded like pretty odd titles. That being said, I can't help harking back to the the days of the raw, emotive distinctly Coldplay titles. Songs like, "Trouble", "Everything's Not Lost", "Don't Panic", "Warning Sign" etc. I can't helping feeling (as they did with Viva) that they are making a concious effort to steer away from old habits with all of these abstract, poetic, vibrant, conceptual - or however you want to describe them - titles. That being said, music is what counts. Viva was amazing and I have complete faith.
  4. Good on them! :)
  5. I heard Gravity on an episode of The Block here last year.
  6. An absolute stab in the dark. 1. Harmony 2. Up With The Birds 3. Gardeners On The Frontline 4. Love In A Lethal Dose 5. Harbingers Of Doom 6. Drunks And Guns 7. Lucky Sevens 8. Cartoon Heart 9. Hurts Like Heaven 10. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall
  7. Bah. Need to mute it every time they mention the Ashes.
  8. I was hopeful yesterday that they'd reveal something big-ish (the title, release date for the first single) but given the Facebook update I'm thinking it's probably more along the lines of a brief update. Something regarding the progress of recording/mixing or the direction (no doubt Chris telling us Jonny really shines this time around).
  9. There was a print interview in January talking about Brian Eno working with the guys on Glass of Water (http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4020&theme=Printer) and also a number of track names revealed in February (http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/coldplay-at-work-on-something-different-for-upcoming-album-20080227).
  10. Don't know where that reputation comes from, I've met him twice and he was super super nice.
  11. I still wouldn't expect it any time before May. If I remember correctly they finished recording Viva in February and then mastered it in March. Then there's all the hoopla sorting out artwork, promotion, the tour etc.
  12. Parachutes (all) > Ode To Deodorant
  13. I was a latecomer to We Never Change, Sparks and High Speed but boy are they good.
  14. Don't Panic > Yellow Politik > Clocks Swallowed in the Sea > Speed of Sound Lovers in Japan > Viva
  15. Thanks! I've been waiting two years for that!
  16. Wow! Sounds absolutely amazing. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRef5S_ejGM]YouTube - Colplay 60 Minutes Pt 2[/ame] Check out 1:45
  17. The melody at :10 seconds is the one Chris plays on piano backstage in the 60 minutes feature.
  18. Nice work. The piano part sounds great!
  19. Which you chose to pay...to meet fellow Coldplayers, not the band.
  20. I'm baffled. Why are people complaining so ferociously? Granted I live on the other side of the planet and hadn't been following the pre-planning buzz too closely, but from what I gathered, there was no promise of an exclusive meet and greet with the band. You all made the decision to travel there and - the way I see it - got way more than was predicted. It's seems like a pretty thoughtful move on the part of the boys, and I would have given an arm and a leg to participate in a Coldplay music video, however brief the sequence and testing the environment. To me that seems an amazing experience so I'm confused as to why the resounding vibe seems to be that of negativity.
  21. I'm so glad they've gone back to their old font. It really feels like classic Coldplay.
