  1. I've had that No Me Llores guitar as my wallpaper for 18 months .... must have haha.
  2. I don't think anyone here was suggesting that we use the project to rival the top bidders (i.e the investors who'll spend $20,000+ on guitars and such) and create some whopping great monopoly, in the process robbing lone bidders of the chance to win anything. From what's been proposed, the project seems like a nice way to ensure that - to some degree - regular Coldplay fans are represented in the auction. Yes, it's true that there are deserving Coldplay fans who aren't members of the site. Yes, it's true that even if the site does win something, it may not go to the most hardcore Coldplaying devotee. It's exactly the same story with ticketing. Things are never going to be divided up equally and handed out to the most deserving. It's unjust. Plain and simple. Life isn't fair. You can sit here arguing with an absolutely defeatist attitude and complain about how immoral the whole thing is, or you could embrace a project developed in good faith (perhaps unlike the "really rich people who buy everything") and try and help see that some (rather than NONE) of the items find their way to appreciative fans.
  3. To an extent: backing tracks. I understand that to capture the essence of the studio version (or for the song to translate at all live) they need to play the odd backing track (an extra guitar, ambient noise, piano etc.). There are times though where I think it goes too far. I don't necessarily think the studio version has to be replicated in its entirety. There are moments where lead guitar, backing vocals and even the drums are being pumped through the speakers. Obviously it's not a major gripe. The boys still trump the majority of the pre-recorded garbage out there. They can play the stuff brilliantly, so it'd be nice to hear more of it live.

  5. Lucky lucky! I've been planning all year on going whenever it was announced, but realistically, it ain't going to happen.
  6. Yeah, I'm sure it was just the usual modesty. Postcards was definitely hand-written.
  7. I asked Chris about Famous Old Painters back in March. It's definitely not dead.

  13. Have a blast :)
  14. Full blown obsession too :)
  15. This sounds promising. I hope they'll include a tour diary too. I know Mat Whitecross mentioned something about following the boys around this year, but I haven't seen any evidence since then.
