  1. i wish i could follow footie better, though i think i would probably support chelsea simply because of the name! :laugh1: a few weeks ago i nearly bought a chelsea FC sweatshirt, and i still kind of want to...well. maybe when i go to london next year.
  2. ugh, i hate teenagers and gossip. why did they have to lie about it?! you're right, they just shouldnt have said anything. if you like it, then that's all that matters, and anyone that truly matters will either like it because it looks kick-ass (i havent seen it yet, but i bet it does :D) or they will like it because you do and because you can pull it off. that's good that theyre starting to see they were jerks about it. people would often mock me for things i did (though usually little things, like taking notes in class with magic markers) and i would just keep on doing them to defy them. i think youre taking the right course of action! one of my friends had a similar situation last year when she gave herself bangs and they...werent very good bangs. people wouldnt shut up about them, but i told them to shove it up their asses because it wasnt their hair. eventually people got used to the change. eventually, everyone will LOVE your hair, i bet.
  3. umm, i don't really remember exactly, but i think annie was the first one i had like "conversations" with.
  4. ^i never thought about it like that!! mmm...chocolate! apparently it's about 45 mins away, but once i get my car down there with me next fall, i'll have chocolatey road trips every weekend! anybody want in? :D
  5. ^if they do america for the first/only time in fall 2009 through spring 2010, i'm absolutely screwed because i'll be in england all that time! i refuse to miss seeing them simply because i'll be in the wrong country. this possibility terrifies me.
  6. hah, then it would be a real bandwagon! we could have a party on it!
  7. oh, mo changed hers as well (from Erin to Space Cadet), so it's more of a bandwagon than i thought... still, i only recently figured out how to go about changing it, so i finally did :)
  8. ^if he's going by the commonly accepted conversion 1 dog year = 7 human years, chuck is 41! (sorry if you didnt want that revealed, chuck, but someone was bound to figure it out! :D)
  9. and thanks for all the congrats, everyone!!!! :D
  10. YOU LIVE IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY?! i live LITERALLY 5 mins from there. i practically live in NY as well. my school was right on the border. how come i didnt realize we were so close before?! :laugh1: anyway, goodnight!
  11. yeah, i went once when i was about 9 and i almost wet my pants when i met the big hershey kiss guy! i wonder how long it takes to drive from college to hershey...i'll have my car at school next term and can go all the time then!!
  12. heyyyy, i wasnt jumping on the bandwagon! :laugh1: besides, only me and rachael really changed! i hardly call two people a bandwagon. and i like elgantine! it makes me think of "elegant."
  13. YES!! all the time!!! its really close, apparently! (i feel like a doof posting so often in my own thread )
  14. i laughed so hard reading this!! but it also embarrasses the crap out of me, because i don't consider myself preppy at ALL, but i do a lot of those things...:embarassed:. my llbean tote bag is my life! and that video was like THE cool thing at my school like a year ago!!
  15. wait, anna, where do you live? (or did you just mean america, where we live?) but even though its an american term, the whole new england prep school culture is an attempt at copying british public schools, or at least how they used to be, which i find pretty funny.
  16. yep, about 15 mins from harrisburg. you could come visit me sometime! :laugh1: :P it was like 1.5 hours by train from philly. unfortunately, there's like nothing there besides a truck stop.
  17. my god, that girl is gorgeous. and the clothes are great too! i couldnt pull that stuff off, but yeah. and annie's right: american eagle/abercrombie is like trying to be preppy, like fake-preppy, but REAL preppy is like starched oxford shirts in pastel colors tucked into pleated pants and tweed jackets with bowe-ties for guys (just one of many examples), and pleated skirts and sweatervests and mary janes and kneesocks for girls. think of classic school uniforms with blazers and knee socks, and then imagine girls and boys wearing those clothes by choice on a regular basis because they think it makes them look wealthy and distinguished. this might help. i often forget that "preppy" is generally an american term that most other people dont understand! and its my favorite thing to rant about (or one of them) because sadly i was steeped in the REAL preppy world because i went to a new england prep school...i hate being associated with it.
  18. ^as of right now, moving (going off to college) really doesnt feel yay-worthy...i'm so nervous about it.
  19. i know. it seems like all my friends that concentrate on looking beautiful all te time (and usually end up looking slutty) have generally crappy lives because they put ALL their energy into looking good and no energy into schoolwork or their friends (besides the boyfriend of course) or their families or college apps....so theyre screwed over in every area other than their bodies. andi just think it's ridiculous trying to please yourself visually 100%: we're our own harshest critics, and there's probably going to always be that little something thats irking you about your hair or makeup or top. so why waste time messing with it? just accept it and go out and have a good time. that one rogue eyelash wont make you have any worse a time, so shut up. [/rant against girly girls]
  20. yeah, cardigans are pushing it. one of my friends wears them all the time (his dad is this big designer, so clothes are his thang), and i flinched the first time he wore one.
  21. heh, what do guys wear in philly? like baggy hip-hoppy pants and backwards hats? i dont really know--it's either gothy emo or insanely preppy around here. is that normal?
  22. exactly! i hate how BOYS are the central thing in most teenage girls' universes. and then they have the nerve to complain about not doing well in school. gahhhhhh. the WGA strike is currently grinding my gears.
  23. yep, good ole' penna. i like the college i'm going to, at least i do now, but...i'm not ready to give up my lazy, stressless lifestyle! and i've never been new before anywhere. so i'm also terrified.
  24. ^sadly, i have friends that dress like that. well, minus the badges on the sweater, but yes, people wore bowties/ties to class, BY CHOICE. i must say i do like that look for guys! for girls i'm a bit more picky.
  25. if this is my thread, does that mean we get to talk about what i want?? if so: i'm moving out of my house on friday and starting college, so that's what's new with me. if not: carry on...as you were...:D
