that song is one of my all-time favorites. its just incredible: the lyrics, the mood...everything. it took me ages to work out that theres like no percussion in the entire song, though! i think that's part of what gives it that special feel.

agreed. i love love love the notes, and new ones do make me quite happy, but for right now i'd totally forgo the notes about things that happened in the past for more current info!! according to debs, it "shouldnt be too much longer," but COME ON, GUYS, PLEASE!! i must say that if theyre as far along with it as they seem to be and if theyre going to tell us soon, why cant they just tell us NOW? they must have all the info layed out, right?

i would love a meet-up sometime, though i think it would be kind of hard unless it was at a concert. i think annie and i could meet relatively easily at a philly coldplay concert, and anna and i live really close...:D

yeahhh, that's a good thing that was before 9/11!! because my friend had them in his CARRYON and he was arrested and spent a loooooong time in the british police office and the rest of our group was held up and questioned as well. and he was thirteen freaking years old!! not that i have a hell of a lot of faith in airport security even today...

when i was 13 i took a flight to london with a bunch of my friends, and we just so happened to leave on a day where there was a blizzard. we were delayed at JFK for 4 hours (think about 16 thirteen-year-olds running around a terminal :thinking:), which was fine because we were all so excited and together, but then we finally got on the plane and were sitting on the runway aaaaaand...the plane in front of us caught fire, so we were delayed for TWO MORE HOURS while on the plane. my friend next to me had never flown before and he was practically wetting himself because of the plane fire ahead of us. and because we were on the runway, for some reason we couldnt be fed or given water or watch movies or anything. it was horrible. and then on that same trip, on the way back, one of my friends had bought a keychain made out of an old bullet in some gift shop on our trip and stupidly PUT IT IN HIS CARRYON BAG. keep in mind that this was about... 6 months after 9/11. he was immediately arrested and we were all detained a little bit. he finally got home MUCH later than the rest of us and all his luggage was confiscated. what a moron. but it's a great story to tell. and i went to minnesota once when i was like 10, and because we were only briefly stopping at an airport in ohio, my dad was under the impression that we would be taking the same plane back to connecticut and told us to leave all our carryons ON THE PLANE. i was 10 and didnt know better, so i did. and then i bawled my eyes out when we got "back" on board and none of our stuff was there. we got it back though.

i think if chris has an account on here (i really wouldnt be all that surprised if the guys did in fact have registered usernames on here, but never really posted anything with them and just used them for an odd random comment), i highly doubt it would be "chrismartin"! :laugh1: i bet it would be something obscure so we'd never ever guess. but i think the guys are kind of screwed if they ever need to use this forum to relay information to us (like if the situation gets so bad with EMI that they cant even use their site), they cant even register as "ChrisMartin" or "JonnyBuckland" or whatever because theyre all pretty much already taken! shame, too, since we rarely seem to see those people post much here...

well thats good that it doesnt sound too bad!! i think food poisoning (or whatever) is pretty minor compared to what could have been wrong. i'm glad she's ok!!

^i think its when you talk to them more than most other people and feel like you know them a little better than just some anonymous online person. and PMs are also good...i've had some marathon PM conversations...

i think i've created maybe 3 threads in 2 years. i dont know, i'm still a bit timid about creating threads...:P besides, most everything has already been created.

the scientist because it's amazing from a cinematographic and visual point of view, then shiver because its their first video and theyre around my age and theyre so cute (and i love how chris doesnt really look into the camera until the middle/end, like he finally gains the confidence and gets comfortable with it), then speed of sound because its what made me a coldplay fan, then trouble (UK) because i think beating up guy is hilarious, and then in my place because...i dont know. so those are my top 5! :D i'm such a music video geek, even if that above was painfully uneloquent and brief.

haha, thanks rachael!! im in a hotel now and am moving in tomorrow... but i pretty much agree about the whole CD thing...there's something to be said for having the music in a physical form rather than in invisible pieces of information in the computer. which is why i brought the 3 CDs. i really wish i could have brought the vinyl, but i would have been paranoid about it getting scratched or broken, so i put it back in my record box, sadly...

i sort of hope that she isnt/wasnt pregnant, because she looked so awful that it must be dire. and that's just the worst: not only you being sick, but having a sick unborn baby whos chance at life could be at stake. i really really hope she didnt have a miscarriage. that would be absolutely devastating.

on a complete whim, i bought parachutes today in best buy. the only copy ive ever had before is a burned one from a friend (even though ive got it on vinyl too), and ive been kind of wanting a real copy for a while (even though it is supporting EMI...), so i got one. i'm leaving for college tomorrow, and even though i dont NEED CDs (ive got my ipod and am not even bringing a CD player or my car this term), i decided to bring along AROBTTH. then i thought that i would bring X&Y too, so therefore i HAD to bring parachutes as well, so i might as well bring a pretty one rather than a crappy burned CD. i'm probably never going to listen to them while i'm there, but its more of a...symbolic thing. i'm leaving my records and record player at home, though :cry2:. but as i was packing today, i noticed that my AROBTTH vinyl had stowed away in one of my bins of things. i think it wants to come with me...

argh, every time i think of this it just makes me want to kill all paparazzi. i thought i was annoyed by them when they stalked and bothered other celebs, even ones that want the ridiculous attention (*ahem* britney), but when they bother ones that a) dont want any part of their ridiculousness, b) that i really like and respect, and c) that are obviously unwell and stressed and are just trying to get home...ohhh, i get so mad. i think the guy got his camera back, though. i suppose thats a good thing, since that could probably cause a real stink for chris, considering its personal property and quite expensive. besides, i dont think those guys would have backed off if he didnt give it back. i bet chris is taking all this pretty hard, too, knowing him...

i think its probably really different when youre expecting someone to ask you questions and take your photo than when youre just trying to walk down the street or get home after a night in hospital. i mean, they can hardly even go outside without being swarmed, and to me thats just sad. that would piss me off too, all those lowlifes that follow me round just for a single shot that they can then SELL. interviews are consentual and planned, at least the kinds that we see chris acting normal and cute in, and you can like, mentally prepare yourself for the barrage of questions, which are usually more thoughtful than just "OMG are you PREGNANT?" and "why were you in hospital?!" actual reporters and interviewers ask about the MUSIC and their work, which is undoubtedly much more comfortable to talk about then the most personal and private aspects of their private lives which none of us need to know about. i have to admit, though, seeing the video a second time was more shocking :stunned:

heh, well she doesnt understand that chris is generally a sweet-natured, adorable guy. well, she does, but she also kinda thinks he's a woosie :lol:. us watching the segment together only sparked the story in her mind when eddie vedder of pearl jam (her absolute love) punched a photographer and was put in jail. i think she's trying to one-up me by saying her celebrity crush is more manly than mine... but then in the ET segment, they showed clips of chris singing "fix you" etc and said something like "generally a kind, quiet, smiley musician who writes tender and introspective lyrics, such a brutal outlash is unexpected from martin." PHHHH. do they remember the aussie thing? and why isnt this vid online anywhere? you would think it would be all over the place and not just on ET.

yeahhhh, i dont think shes pregnant. it sounded too serious to be that. at least, i would think she would need to be a bit farther along to have really serious complications. oh yeah, that one pap yelled after chris "THANKS FOR THE VIDEO" in a kind of annoyed tone of voice, and at that point it looked somewhat like the photographer that chris shoved over was on chris's back in a sort of bear-hug from behind trying to get his camera back, but the video camera was so jerky i could be wrong. and yeah, they were coming from hospital, which is all the more reason why chris was totally justified in knocking the dude over. though my mom was like "jeez, that's all? i was expecting him to at least punch him."

^what's worse is when you slice your hand open with the plastic while trying to do that! i've done that a couple times, trying to transfer the inserts from broken CD cases into new ones!

i was kind of scared of posting when i first joined, so i only posted when i thought i had something really good to say. i read everything though! and i quickly learned that people didnt hate me just because i was a noob...even though i was still kind of a modest poster. it took me almost two years to branch out from just the coldplay forums! but it was coldplaying that got me into radiohead. i would have never even bothered to check them out (even though it took a couple tries to really get into them :freak:) if it wasnt for this place! that i think is probably the greatest thing to come out of being a member here, though there are so many...
