  1. It's not going to be anything the media has reported, obviously. I hope it's original, but not too original or stupid-sounding, like Tink or Sophocles or even Mortimer. I think Apple's a cute name, but when she gets older, she'll probably hate her parents for naming her that and further singling her out. How about Chelsea?? :D
  2. 10/10 the world turned upside down

  11. RADIO-ONLY??? so that means no b-sides, right??  ARRRRG, then whats the point of a single?? That's why I BUY the singles...well, that's depressing. Anyway, I guess we have the video to look foward to, I hope its good. Have fun at your concert tonight!! I'm going in 13 DAYS!!

  17. i love love love this song!! The video is completely amazing too, one of their best. Chris actually had to learn how to sing the song backwards for it, and I think he did a fabulous job. When I saw Coldplay on the Twisted Logic tour, they played this AMAZING video on-screen while they played this song. It was this science video that started way way out in the universe and then zoomed in to our galaxy and our solar system and our planet....and on and on until you see this guy sleeping in his backyard, and then it zooms in to the skin on his hand and zooms in to the individiual cells and on and on...it was soooo amazing. I also really like this song because it sounds so similar to George Harrison's "Isn't It A Pity" (the piano part does, anyway). Chris actually admitted that he was listening to that song when he wrote it, and it had to influence him, because I thought they sounded similare even before he said he listened to it while writing "the scientist"

  19. ah, I hope they're not live tracks...I'm looking for new material!! (Or a studio version of "Ladder to the Sun"...) You can always download the singles directly from Coldplay.com, in the digital merchandise section. I bought the "Fix You" single off Amazon.com for like $15, and it was way too expensive. I assume "The Hardest Part" will be available for download on their site too.
  20. See You Soon, even though its so metaphorical. Then Amsterdam, Swallowed in the Sea, Fix You, Clocks, Green Eyes, The Scientist. Oh, and Yellow, of COURSE!! I'd say that's my all-time favorite. Warning Sign is in my top 3 coldplay songs ever, but it's more of a musical thing for me. The main reason I love Coldplay is for their lyrics. Oh, and Across the Universe by the Beatles has to be the best lyrics of all time for me.
  21. PARACHUTES: 1. Yellow 2. Shiver 3. Don't Panic A Rush Of Blood To The Head 1. Warning Sign 2. Clocks 3. Amsterdam/In My Place (I can't pick):\ X&Y 1. Speed Of Sound 2. Fix You 3. Swallowed in the Sea
  22. Ok, I've thought of my "Swallowed in the Sea" video. It's not as good as some of the others I've thought of in the past, but it'll have to do for now. It starts off with Chris sitting at an outdoor cafe in a city, reading a newspaper or something. He looks up and across the street to rest his eyes, and his gaze falls upon Gwyneth Paltrow crossing the street. He's obviously in awe of her. She sits at a nearby table at the cafe and orders a coffee or whatever and pulls out her cell phone. She starts to dial, but notices someone staring at her and looks up. Her eyes meet Chris's and their gaze locks for a long moment. She slightly smiles shyly and turns back to her phone. Time passes and she gathers her things and gets up to leave. Chris hurriedly pays his bill and dashes off to follow her. The camera cuts to Gwyneth walking down the sidewalk, with Chris following about a block behind. Gwyneth turns into a book store, and Chris follows too when he reaches the door. The next shot is inside the bookstore, with Gwyneth browsing the shelves. Chris is watching her, his eyes peeking over a book that he doesn't notice is upside-down. He notices her coming over and quickly becomes very interested in the book. She has a playful yet shy smile on as she meets his eyes. She flips the book around right-side-up and hands it back to him. He looks embarrassed as hell, but she laughs good-naturedly, and so does he. Cut to the two of them, walking and laughing together in a park at dusk, eating pizza slices off wax paper. Gwyneth stops and stands in front of him, very close, and it looks like they're going to kiss. But she hands him a bit of paper and walks away, smiling over her shoulder like the happiest person in the world. Chris watches her, open-mouthed. Once she's gone, he looks at the bit of paper, which has her number and address on it in loopy writing. He looks up and smiles broadly. Next shot is and aerial view of Chris walking down a long residential street at night. The only light is from the houses' windows and dim streetlights. The camera angle shifts from aerial to normal as the song goes on. Chris has the bit of paper in his hands and is looking at the number of every house. He suddenly stops; he's found the house. There's a long shot of the house. The only light on is in the upstairs window on the right. Chris begins to throw pebbles at the window from the front yard, and after a few Gwyneth opens the window and sticks her head out. They smile at each other for a moment, and Gwyneth signals for Chris to wait a second. After a few moments she comes out the front door and meets him in the front yard. They kiss passionately, with the camera going in a circle around them. As the song winds down, the two break apart and smile at each other. Chris takes her hand and they walk down the sidewalk, hand in hand, away from the camera (so we get a back view). Fade to black. So it's not terribly exciting or anything, but it's what I came up with for the song. Actually, most of the tracks on X&Y don't really put stories in my mind too much, as most other songs in the world do, so this was harder than it usually is for me to come up with these things. I had a really great video idea for "Fix You" that I wrote right after hearing the album for the first (maybe second) time, which I might post later (I think it was pretty cool, anyway). Anyway. There's my thoughts on it.
  23. I think that each album has a distinct feel to it, and I hope the next one follows suit. Parachutes seems very arty and original to me, AROBTTH is kinda isolationist and solitary and clean, and X&Y is very mathy/sciency. I cant really think of a possible mood/theme for the next album right now, but I hope it's completely different from the others in the mood-department. However, I want Coldplay to keep being coldplay and use pianos!! of course, the name should reflect the mood, but i've always thought a cool name for an album would be Approximately Infinite. Or maybe it should have a title in a different language and have a cultural/worldly feel!! haha
  24. I dunno, I much rather Swallowed in the Sea to be the next single, but I get excited for singles pretty much for the b-sides, so in the end it doesnt really matter to me because we're still getting 2 b-sides out of it, which have the potential to be fabulous. (I'm crossing my fingers for a studio version of Ladder to the Sun and one brand-new one that no one's ever heard...I hope they're great!!)
