  1. yeah, i think i agree with you about the black background for "coldplaying." i still like #3 the best :D: i don't know which back i like the best, though! :bigcry: this one: or this one: the second one is definitely easier to see, and makes more of a bold statement, but i so love the idea of using their doodle-faces :wacky:.
  2. AHH! i LOOOVE it!! though i think we're going to need suggestions on how to remedy the issue of choosing/voting on the back design vs. the front...i think we have two back styles up for contention right now :uhoh:
  3. the part in bold is defintely true, i don't deny that. the difference is that it's unrealistic: a few hundred fans on a coldplay message board aren't going to change the fact that millions and billions of others in the world do look at this stuff, so i think to say that we shouldn't post the pictures in order to lower the monetary values of the photos so the paps wouldn't be so adamant about taking them in the first place is a moot point. i'm not saying that means we should all just look at them anyway: i think that's essentially a personal decision. i just don't think it should be as militantly enforced as some people are calling for, since it wouldn't make a difference to the larger picture or the industry in any way. not looking at pap pics might make that person feel better, but even if a few thousand decided not to look at them, the industry and call for them would still be there, so in essence, it doesn't make a difference whether we post them or not. i think it's fine (and nice) if it makes you feel better not to look at them (i wish i wasn't so curious myself! i do feel a twinge of guilt in looking at them), but i don't think there should be a blanket rule regarding their allowance on the forum, and i don't think there ever will be.
  4. i love the one with all of their faces :wacky:. i'd LOVE that to be across the back!
  5. i watched the entire first and second series of skins in 6 days. i don't even want to watch the third series with the new characters...i loved the old ones too much . i didn't even expect to like this show, i thought i'd just check out an episode or two, but the writing and most of the acting is miles better than most american teen dramas currently on the air over here, and it's refreshing to see a bit of a different take on the teen drama, since ours are basically all the same.
  6. as much as i feel a twinge of guilt for looking at pap pics of the kids, i think it's going a bit far to say that it's wrong to post any pictures of them ever. we're not going to stop the pictures being taken by not posting them, which is the real problem if you ask me, and we're not making it any easier for real stalkers to find the photos, since they're already out there for public consumption anyway. since the pictures are going to be taken no matter what (unfortunately) and since most of us here are just diehard FANS and not stalkers (stalkers would know where to find the pictures at their sources anyway, so us posting them doesn't change a thing), i don't see too much harm in posting them. we're not encouraging the paps to take them, just as we're not discouraging them from taking them by not looking at them or posting them. what we do here is harmless, just commenting on how cute the kids are and remarking on how much they look like the parents or how much they've grown, so we are neither hurting or helping any sort of cause by looking at pap pics. it's a personal choice to look at them, and it's completely fine if you don't want to do that for your own reasons, but i think it's a bit holier-than-thou to say that it's wrong to post them in general, since it's not going to change a thing, for better or worse. i will say, however, that i think there is a difference between paparazzi photos and leaked family photos.
  7. ^aww, i really like that too! (though i can't see the first pic ) i feel like the second one would look great for the back of a shirt or something! (though i don't really think we should have a separate poll for shirt backs...:uhoh:) could someone put that on a yellow shirt to make it more poll-worthy? :shy:
  8. haha, does it sound like i'm beating myself up?. i'm not, really, it's just on the brain a bit since i've been having a lot of england meetings recently. it's really on the back burner, so i'm not giving myself an ulcer or anything :P. i'm just in a ranty mood today, and i know you guys understand how important wembley is, versus most other people who, when i mention it to them, say "it's a concert...and haven't you seen them like 9 times before already anyway?" :dozey:.
  9. haha, thanks guys :D. mich, that's what i keep telling myself too, but i historically have the worst timing in the world, and when i ask people that have been on the same program about skipping that first saturday, they tend to wring their hands and come up with reasons why it's a bad idea. anyway. i just tend to worry myself way before something happens so when the event finally arrives, i'm finished worrying :P. also, when i skipped something for coldplay in 2006, i got in MAJOR trouble with my teacher/coworker and nearly lost my (quite important to me) job. i'm scarred for life because of that :P. also, i think the british and europeans in general value their weekends more :P. here, it's perfectly normal, actually USUAL, to schedule these sorts of big administrative things on a weekend in order to keep things running as usual during the week :P. must remember that you guys tend to keep your weekends and holidays more sacred!
  10. my first set of tickets have been shipped, the ones in section 400. i'm awaiting an email telling me my GA ticket has been shipped. however, funny story :dozey:. the first set of tickets i got in the presale, the ones in section 400 for me and my mom and brother, i ordered using my mom's credit card. fine. however, the next day when i impulsively decided to buy a GA ticket for me, i used my debit card, which is tied to my own bank account. i knew i was running low on funds i myself have earned, since i haven't held a real job in a year and a half now and i didn't make much nannying this summer, but my parents throw decent sums of money in there to cover my uni groceries and that kind of thing. i rarely check the balance because my dad watches it and keeps it beefed up when it's getting low. however, buying the GA ticket overdrew the account by $16 . whoooops. i thought i had more of my own earned money in there! :P no worries now, my dad immediately transferred more money in there and all is well. however, i'm sliiiightly worried that might have affected my GA ticket, not having enough funds to cover it at the time of purchase. however, i got a confirmation email saying the purchase went through and nothing suspicious after that, so i'm not too too worried, though i hope i get an email in the next few days saying it was shipped :uhoh:. otherwise it's section 400 for me :P. sorry, i'm rambling a lot on CPing today . don't mind me.
  11. thanks, carla. i figured they'd be starting to fill up in the area, which is why i was fine with staying somewhere more in central london but...the tube stops running at some point? in NY, the subways become less frequent after midnight, but they still run. i assumed the same was true with london, but i could be wrong. that's a good point about just being able to cancel the reservation...i should probably do that and then just cancel it later once my plans become more clear. thanks, carla :D i'm actually getting really nervous about all this...seriously, one weekend before or one weekend after would work SO much better than the 19th for me. that's my first weekend on my uni campus in norwich, and while i don't care about missing "getting settled" and meeting people and buying bedding and pots and pans and food like i've been warned, i'm afraid i'm going to miss course registration or other orientation activities that saturday, since i'll be in london all day and night . i WILL be at wembley, but i'm wondering what i'll have to sacrifice to get there--whether it's information about my life at my new uni, course sign-ups, or my professor's trust (he's responsible for me in england, so i don't want to tell him i'm skipping things to go to a concert if i can avoid it :P). anyway. i WILL be there, i just wish i could be there guilt-free. [/ramble]
  12. i think it's time to cut moses' hair. i'm all for long hair, but not THAT long :P and i think moses looks so much like chris in this one :wacky:
  13. i'm going to have to pick a hotel now too since i know for sure i'm going to have been moved up to norwich by then (ugh, this is going to be SUCH a logistical nightmare, though i WILL make it there somehow). i'm slightly hesitant on booking a hotel quite yet since i don't know my schedule perfectly right now. how long do you think i can wait to do that? i'm not really objected to being somewhere else in the city, anyway, since by then i'll know the tube like the back of my hand, and it's simple to follow anyway. anyway, any advice on a timeline for hotel booking would be greatly appreciated :P
  14. every time i watch this show, i think i should get someone to call me an ambulance because i can never breathe from laughing so hard. my mom and brother got into re-watching it last year, and even when my mom would retell me quotes over the phone, i thought i was going to wet myself from laughing so hard. i can't take this show simply because most of it is too hilarious and i will cause myself physical harm by watching too much of it.
  15. water, toothpaste, sometimes water again, then brush. i don't floss ever, really, but i've become a good mouthwash user, which gets the same job done for the most part. i'm neurotic about brushing my teeth: i HAVE to do it before i go to sleep, no question. otherwise i just feel gross. and i've never had a cavity, so i think i'm doing ok :D
  16. i SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE every time i remember i'm going GA now . i was even talking to my roommate about grades and instead of GPA, i said "GA" once we get closer to the date, girls, as long as i'm welcome to join you in line and at the show, we're going to have to plot a superawesome meet-up plan! :D
  17. why would you NOT go? especially if you already have a ticket! though it looks like you're RATHER far away from CT...
  18. i can't believe i just did that. my mom made a big *sigh*, but she's on board...i just have to make up the difference for whatever the ticket sells for under $135. i also feel bad for ditching my brother, but he's ok with it :D. OMFG, COLDPLAY UP CLOSE WITH THE COLDPLAY GIRLS. I'M SO EXCITED :bigcry: anyway, if anyone's interested, i have an extra ticket for coldplay
  19. i just talked to my mom, she said it's entirely up to me, but that she doesn't want me to do it. i'm going to have a think about it over the next few hours, but i don't think i'll go GA...it complicates everything too much. i'm not hopeful that there are any left anyway, certainly not by the time i decide. i even asked my brother if he had any friends that would be willing to buy my ticket off me and go with him, but he said he can't think of anyone that likes coldplay enough to do that. anyway, we'll see, but i think i'll probably be chilling in section 400.
  20. STOP GUYS :bigcry: i'm currently debating it in my head, but it's just so....implausible! it doesn't make sense.... i'm putting the idea past my mom now, but i'm not hopeful. YOU'RE NOT HELPING.
  21. it's tempting, you know, not that there are any left, probably. if it was just me going, i'd do it in a second, but my mom says she is too old for GA now (she used to do it all the time :P) and i'd have to drag her and my brother there early when the schedule already may be tight . i think i'm going to sit in my semi-crappy seats for this one and i'll get my GA experience at wembley :D (even though there might be severe scheduling conflicts with me and wembley, i'm making SURE i get there, even though i might screw up my life in the process ). besides, i had a MAJOR dose of coldplay-karma in jersey when i got upgrades...i can't complain about a stinking thing! :P however, if someone backs out at the last minute and you're left with an extra GA ticket....you know who to call :sneaky: :P
  22. OMFG!!! i am SOOOOO glad i was wrong! and i can't believe they're doing GA! that's definitely not happened on this tour in the US, i'm pretty sure! oh i'm SOOOOO happy for you all! :bigcry: i'm so relieved! damn, now i want GA!. ah well, my mom and brother wouldn't be too happy with GA, and i get to try out GA at wembley, so i can't complain too much :P. oh i'm SOOOO happpyyyyy for you guys!
  23. haha, well i know i said that, but i have experience with this particular venue on this side, and not yours. however, it's not the end of the world, and i'm thrilled to be there :D. i have seat #428, 429, and 430, which i assume are to the extreme side too, on guy's side. back in 2005, i didn't see guy allll night, the wall was in the way . anyway, it's a coldplay concert
  24. i hope so! i figure you're going to prove me all wrong and get amazing seats. i'll be jealous of your seats, but i'll be SO GLAD YOU'RE THERE!! i also got really stressed about wembley today for a completely unrelated reason, so if i'm a debbie downer about concerts today, that may be why :P
