My logic in that iiiiis mister, that as soon as promo singles get sent out, they leak. Or, maybe even more likely: they get sold on the internet. Especially when it's Coldplay stuff. There are people willing to pay a lot of money for a promo cd of a song that no one has ever heard yet. That's why, in Coldplay's case, promo's often get sent AFTER it has had a radio premiere. This applies to almost every first single of an album. (Speed of sound, Christmas lights, ..), because when the full album is out, the songs leak anyway

But they would have to at least give the title of the album, no ? + You say that a single now and the album in autumn is quite common. But Violet Hill was released in May and VLVODAAHF in June (same with X&Y)

This is a very good point actually. They can't just release a single, without telling the title of the album where it's from, or the release date of that album. So they can't really just throw it out there... They could however release a B-side or something, but I don't think they would go through so much effort just for a B-side

Well, I might not be a genius but I can read. When people are saying: 'can't wait until monday! oh wait, monday is a bank holiday... Can't wait until tuesday', then yes, I believe that people here genuinly believe that there is something going to happen this monday (or tuesday).

People. This is just like the may 21th rapture thing. It's not because a lyric contains the words monday morning that something big is about to happen. If it would've said 'monday morning, the 30th of may 2011, 9 PM', I would've been all over this as well. But for now, you guys seem just as crazy as those rapture freaks. I'm a non believer for now

jup, going to try the same thing. It's a bit of a wait, but it's not that bad. Probably an hour or 4, but you'll be full of adrenaline and you won't have any troubles staying awake :p + with good company time will pass very very fast

I didn't and it was worth the wait. I'll listen to a song if it's the first single, because I won't be able to avoid it anywhere I think. But if the album would leak tomorrow, I'd definately wait until I have a physical copy in my hands

I think that the monday morning thing could be a possible title, but not an announcement. It's just lyrics. They haven't made them especially for these teasers or anything. I think we can't pin them down on monday morning. But it would be a nice title though
