    Yupp, sure does.

TL is probably my favorite track on the album so far. I agree with the other poster who mentioned the X&Y vibes. Up In Flames was one of my least favorite tracks on the last album, and there is no comparison between this and that track IMO. First listen, I also thought Johnny's solo sounded kinda weird. Those initial impressions have changed, and I think it sounds awesome now, no problem at all.
  3. I loved Perfect Symmetry as well, although it's a bit different than the first two albums.
  4. I should also add, that I heard the song "Strangeland" (bonus song on the deluxe edition) weeks ago via the free download they gave as a prize for winning the maze game. After hearing the album, I couldn't believe Watch How You Go made the album, and Strangeland did not. Although I've heard the song, Watch How You Go has special meaning to Tim & Tom, being that's it's the first breakup song written that has shown a positive side. I've also heard the other 3 bonus tracks, and the only one besides Strangeland that I've really found any enjoyment in, is The Boys. The other 2 were just ok. I can see why all 3, excluding Strangeland were bonus songs.
  5. I'm pretty impressed with the album overall at this point, although at the moment I'm not really sure where it ranks among the other albums. I like pretty much every song, with the least favorite being Watch How You Go, although it's still a good song. My favorites include You Are Young, , Disconnected, Sovereign Light Cafe, Neon River, In Your Own Time, Black Rain, and Silenced By The Night. While the studio versions of Black Rain and Sea Fog are still great, I'm slightly disappointed, and feel the live versions sound a bit better. I liked the way Black Rain ended when they played it live, but the studio version just fades out. Sea fog sounds a bit faster than it did live to me, especially the ending parts where tom sings "sea fog rolling" X 3. With that said, I'm still enjoying the album very much so, and have it on repeat at the moment.
  6. 4 of the new 10 songs are on the previous page (258), including Black Rain.
  7. You should see the previous pages then, with the video posts of the live performances of the other 9 songs they've played from the new album. 'Black rain' is a beauty. It was featured in the album trailer video that they released some weeks ago which also featured 'Sovereign Light Cafe', and 'Silenced By The Night' at the end.
  8. For me it's been pretty hard not to like everything they've done since UTIS. I'm enjoying this latest single, although after hearing 10 songs from the album I'd say they could have chosen a better song for the first single. Black Rain is just ridiculously beautiful. The Starting Line, and Sea Fog are really good as well. I also enjoyed hearing On The Road, it is pretty catchy and upbeat, and makes you wanna dance.
  9. For those sayin I'm deaf, and there is no similarity, I think you are the ones who are deaf. The notes are pretty much identical. If you don't know what part of the song I'm talkin about, you really should re-read the first post. I'm not talking about the main guitar riff btw. The thing is, these notes are not common notes, in fact I'd never heard any song use them b4 "Beautiful", neither did I hear any other song feature these same notes, or similar ones after "beautiful" did, up untill Major Minus, where I knew right off I'd heard them b4.
  10. I'm tired of them playing Up In Flames. But Chris goes "WTF was that!" LMAO. I don't hate the song or anything, I'd just rather them play another new track such as DLIBYH.
  11. Watching from the U.S.!! Just followed the google translate link, then changed the language to french. Also changed the video to SD at dailymotion, then it worked!!
  12. The notes from Princess of China are a bit different, as there are additional notes in Princess of China that are not heard in this "Life Is A Temple" song you've brought forward. POC bares a closer resemblance to the Vietnamese song. Not the Nelly song, not the chant of some pro sports team.
  13. The correct lyrics are "Light a fire, a fire, a spark."
  14. I've been listening to the whole thing non stop. However, I'll list my favorites, even though I love, and appreciate every song on the album. Paradise Hurts Like Heaven Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall Charlie Brown Major Minus Princess of China Don't Let It Break Your Heart
  15. Could be. Because I noticed it right off when I heard Major Minus. I was a big fan of the song when it was released. So I remembered that melody quite well.
  16. I don't think it says "slowly burning tide". I think it says " and a soul burning tide". I think that would make more sense. "And a soul burning tide. Through my veins it's flowing".
  17. Meaning what exactly??? Did you even bother to read my response to the topic of this thread? Or did you just assume that because I raised the question of plagiarism in my own thread regarding the guitar riff from Major Minus, that I'm some how searching for instances where Coldplay has committed plagiarism? Regarding Major Minus, as I said already, the first time I heard it, I knew I'd heard the melody of the guitar riff somewhere else. I only brought it up as a response to this topic. Then I created the thread about Major Minus, although I had thought about it ever since hearing the song. Before then, I had not even openly discussed it. I'm not some Coldplay hater hoping that they get sued for plagiarism. However it is what it is. The melody in Princess of China resembles that of the one sang in the Vietnamese song. That's just the facts, and I'm not the only one who thinks so. I did not create this thread. I'll also have you know that I'm actually a huge fan of both songs. Both POC and Major Minus. So naturally I was attracted to this thread as were many others, some not even fans of the song. IMO it would be more likely for Coldplay to have committed plagiarism regarding the riff from Major Minus, more so than taking the melody for POC from the Vietnamese song. The song "Beautiful" by Snoop Dogg was a much more memorable, and popular song I'm certain.
  18. Coldplay770 replied to dadedade's topic in U.F.O.
I'm hearing "Been that life". Next part possibly could be "It's your ride/right".
  19. So that would then mean they took the melody from another song. Just because it's played slower, and in a higher pitch does not mean the idea did not come from somewhere else.
  20. I didn't search anything, as I said, when I first heard the song, I knew the melody was one I'd heard before. The end of Mylo Xyloto has nothing to do with the guitar riff found in Major Minus. You must also be deaf if you cannot hear the melody and the notes which are identical. The only difference being that in Major minus it is played much slower, and at a higher pitch.
  21. Umm yes. Are you deaf? Your going to have to put up a better argument than "umm.. no".
  22. I should also mention that the music video version of the song posted above earlier, is altered, and different from the original audio recording. The melody is sang 4 times in the original recording of the song. Hear the original audio recording below and start at 3:53. In Major Minus, the melody is repeated 4 times, then 4 times more before Johnny's awesome solo starts. Many times the ending of songs are very memorable. As I already stated, for myself being a big fan of that song when it was released, I remember very well the ending melody, because for me (I'm pretty sure for many others as well) it was one of my favorite parts of the song.[ame= ] [/ame]
  23. Has anyone actually checked the book that comes with the album to see if they named any sample songs? That vocal melody from the once very popular song "beautiful" is quite a memorable line from the song, so much so that as I already stated, I immediately thought of that song when I first heard it. I kept trying to figure out where I had heard that melody before. This can't be simply shoved off as a mere coincidence.
  24. It's a Coldplay song. It's just not the same Coldplay that only appeals to one audience. It's not purely an R&B song, it's not purely a pop song, it's not purely a dance song, it's not really Rock either. What is it then? It's Alternative. Something different, along with a great use of instruments and sounds. This is what Coldplay has always been about. It's why they appealed to me. Whatever you want to label it, the song jams, and many like it, even if older so-called Coldplay fans can't appreciate it. Why should they limit themselves to one audience? There are many other great tracks on the album to enjoy. This was made to appeal to others audiences, and possibly older Coldplay fans who listen to more than only a few genres, or those who only want a buch of slow songs. If you want slow songs, listen to Sleeping At Last (Wires is an amazing song by them). They've got plenty of them, and the singer has a much better voice than Chris Martin.
  25. The notes are different from the Nelly song, so that argument holds no water.
