Camden New Jersey 080705
I just got back too. Here's my basic review. First of all, I was front row center in the general admission pit. The best place in the house. I never thought I'd have been able to get there, but waiting on line for 3 hours before the gates opened paid off. I was so happy. There were a few assholes in the crowd, with pushing and such, but thats to be expected, especially in general admission areas. Black Mountain was terrible. Didn't understand a word they were saying. No one really had any stage presence. The drummer and bass player were the only ones who actually seemed to have a pulse. The lead singer looks exactly like Jesus. There was some girl in the group who basically did nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if they owed her parents a favor and let her be in the band or something. She just kinda stood there and stomped her foot with the beat. She did play random instruments, such as a cowbell and the tamborene. I don't think any of the keyboard player's equipment was hooked up. Couldn't hear him at all. Coldplay came out pretty much around standard time. There was no main difference in the regular set lists. So look up any other show, and its the same for this show. (Im just too lazy to retype it). Everything went flawlessly it seemed. "Yellow" was awesome with giant yellow balloons falling from the cieling and being bounced among the crowd. Chris encouraged everyone to pop them to let the confettii out, and didn't finish singing until the last one was popped. "Everything's Not Lost" was dedicated to the tailgaters, which Chris said they had no idea what that was two days ago. Chris was as lively and as energetic as ever. The only mess up was at the begining of "The Hardest Part" when I think Chris sang the wrong lyric. They started again and played it fine. Someone threw a shirt on stage early on in the set and Chris grabbed it, and when the band set up to play "Til Kingdom Come", Chris mentioned the shirt and that it said "Johnny Cash is a Friend of Mine", and then explained the history of the song and its connection to Johnny Cash. During "In My Place", Chris leaped off stage and did a full lap around the entire venue at the end of the song. It was planned because security was in place to run with him, but it was crazy and so unexpected to the fans. He did a full lap around the venue while the band finished the song. It was amazing. The light show, the band...everything. The entire lawn section was full of people. I was so lucky with where I was. I still can't believe I was right up front. It will take a few days to set in.

coldplay coming to Australia????
not really sure how a belgium show would be in relation to an australian show, unless youre doing some traveling. theres been no official word or anything, but based on the last tour, they did add australia at the end.

Do my tickets have to say Ticketmaster on them?
i got mine through the coldplay.com presale lottery and they are not regular ticketmaster tickets. they are clearchannel tickets. theyre kinda of a green/gray color. got them in the mail through UPS directly from the presale place and they are 100% legit.

$70 for 17 songs?
Ive seen Radiohead 3 times and Coldplay 2 times. I will be seeing Coldplay 4 more times this tour. I know its alot of money, but I dont doubt for a second that I will be having an amazing time at each show. I saw Radiohead at Liberty State Park two nights in a row in 2001. One night they did 4 encores. It was insane. Amazing. Yes they can do that. This was after their 5th album release. Coldplay only is on number 3. But Radiohead I feel has more dedicated fans than Coldplay fans. If Coldplay were to breakout the B-sides and rare songs, which would be awesome for most of us here, alot of common fans would be like "what the hell is this?". Radiohead isnt popular among the masses like Coldplay is. They can play night after night rare songs with most people knowing those songs. It'd be nice if Coldplay would play about 20 songs, but I think chino is right in that Chris might not be able to handle the high notes every other night of the week. And if they did break out songs like Idiot, A Ladder to the Sun, or Proof night after night, some fans would be disappointed that they didn't get to hear the songs they know (althought I'd love to see Proof played).

Toronto Aug 2 ACC [2005]
im seeing them 4 times. if i dont see some variety, ill be quite mad.

Yellow
Random question. I have a few old versions of Yellow that I got off here, where Chris does a little speech before hand, and when he introduces it, I could swear he says "Yellowless". That wasn't like an original name for the song was it?

The end of The Scientist?
when they played the KCRW concert chris actually played the song backwards on piano and sang the lyrics reversed. i think thatd be cooler if he did that everytime.

Glasto 2007
radiohead is planning on releasing an album in early 2006, so them headlining wouldnt surprise me.

Dumb question time....
OK im just a dumb american, and have never seen any glastonbury clips until the ones that are going up now. and i downloaded Square One and it was awesome. but heres my question.... what's with all those dam flags in the crowd? id be quite pissed if i wait for hours and hours to get close to the stage and some guy is waving a giant flag in front of me. are they really doing anything than pissing off the people behind you?

The new setlist...
I hope theres some change between nights at MSG. Im seeing them both nights there, and if its the same set, ill be angry. And i still dont like yellow where it is. from what ive heard on the Koko gig, its alot more tuned down. i dont like that. i like the huge stadium anthem type performance they made of it. the light show with it kicked ass. warning sign is a bit different that what ive heard. i like the piano ending like they did in houston. the ending of the scientist where they do some reverse stuff is nice.

Ladder to the Sun
the song is not known to have been recoreded. played a few times on the AROBTTH tour. various bootlegs exist with a copy of it. not studio version of it though. and there are plenty of CDs with non-album tracks. theyre called singles with b-sides :)

The new setlist...
from the setlist i saw from their show in france, they played yellow awfully early. i dont like it that early. it was like the 3rd song. i like how it was one of the last ones before they left for the encore. its such a fun high energy song, its like the highlight of the show. chris has so much fun with it and the whole crowd loves it. i hope they dont turn into how radiohead handled creep. i love radiohead too, but if thats your big song, you have to play it for the fans. they played it on their last tour, but went like 5 years without playing it. yellow is just awesome. the light show and everything. needs to be toward the end of the list.

tickets for toronto show go on sale at 10am!
im very happy with my ticket getting attempts. got camden and holmdel in the presale. and today got both MSG shows. i checked ebay for the hell of it. from 10am-1030am there were about 40 new additions of coldplay tickets. fucking scalpers. its insane. but its even more insane that people have already started bidding up to $500 for a pair of tickets at some venues.

The New Presale
- The New Presale
phew. finally got holmdel. that was way too stressful.- The New Presale
i hate this. both MSG shows were gone. i was all the way through the Holmdel shows when i entered all the info, and it said I was missing a field, but there was no text box for me to change any info. i couldnt get them. fuck fuck fuck.- The New Presale
now the main page wont even load. i give up i think. ill try in a little. it might not be a matter of scalpers getting them yet, but more of a thing of how many tickets they could reserve for this presale.- The New Presale
the seats i had for the holmdel show werent even that good, but now it crashed. gotta start again.- The New Presale
I got my tickets picked and shipping info entered, and now its stuck.- The New Presale
Dam this isnt going good. Taking forever to load up anything. Trying to get Holmdel, NJ tickets. Madison Square Garden pages wont load. Anyone having luck?- Coldplay live 2003 and Brian Eno
i dont think there was any other brian eno song used. they walked onto the stage while "An Ending (Ascent)" played. the intro music to "Yellow" i believe was written by Coldplay themselves, even tho it sounds a bit Brian Eno-ish.- D/L SOS Video
dumb question from a dumb person. whats the download manager? - The New Presale
