Haha, I know what you mean, I got used to it too, but its not so bad for me seeing that making music keeps me busy. Thats until my soundcard fried a few hours ago after trying to record something from an amp. So yeah now I'm bored too :p

Spies
So true about the live version, its even better than the studio version, and the same with AROBTTH ofcourse. Hopefully they'll realise this time around that those extra solos in some of their live stuff make the song that little bit more special. But anyway, I havn't heard this other version of spies, but from what I'm hearing I would probably prefer the album version, seeing as I tend to like their atmospheric stuff anyway.

4th album cover leaked!
Its a nice cover, but judging by the fact that anyone with some artistc talent and some experience with Photoshop can knock out something like this in a couple of hours, I would say its fake. If im feeling evil, I might do one myself and pass it off as a leak :sneaky: But since I just exposed myself before the crime, I guess i'll give it a miss

Prog lovers unite
Someone was talking about Blackfield earlier in the thread (Steve Wilson's side project) , I like them, but i think Porcupine Tree are better. I dont know, it just seems like someone else is writing the lyrics, and Wilson is singing it for them - although i do like quite alot of their songs.

NEW STARS ON COLDPLAY.COM
Oh my God I got a sudden instinct to look on coldplay.com and there it was! Its no release date, but these messages just keep getting more exciting, I think its because theyre talking about particular songs now and how they sound... And Prospect's March? What could that possibly mean? So much to think about... oh my goodness

bEST cOLDPAY SONG LYRICALLLY
Yes well great minds think alike I suppose ;), we have agreed on quite alot of things. The delay of LP4 in particular :laugh3: Although i think it shows that unlike other fans who are obsessed with the band members more than anything else, we tend to care more about the quality of the music they produce and the direction they might be going for their next release. I don't know about you, but I have a feeling we're yet to see the best of Coldplay. I think theres quite a lot of untapped potential.

Chris Martin Sound-alikes thread
Wow, thats more similar to Chris' voice than the guy from Blue Merle... :shocked2: Interesting. His falsetto sounds different though.

bEST cOLDPAY SONG LYRICALLLY
Haha, its good to know that other people feel the same way on the subject ;), sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who is not that impressed with X&Y. I have a friend who loves the album, I think he loves every song on there except Fix You. I don't hate X&Y either, it's a pretty good album... and yeah, not all of the songs are lyrically inferior. Its when people start heralding it as 'The best album ever' and 'Coldplay's Masterpiece' when I start to wonder what they can possibly like more in an album that has two siblings which are better in almost every respect. Having said that, I still love Speed of Sound, Square One, A Message, Swallowed in the Sea, and Sleeping Sun from the era. I just hope now that they can move on from that sound & style of music and give us something fresh and original.

bEST cOLDPAY SONG LYRICALLLY
Just my opinion but I think their older stuff has far better lyrics than some of their later stuff (ie: X&Y). I also like their sound in the Parachutes and AROBTTH eras better, so I might be a little biased.

bEST cOLDPAY SONG LYRICALLLY
A Rush of Blood To The Head (song) has good lyrics. I'm not sure whether Bucket for a Crown counts but i like the lyrics of that song aswell.

Radiohead
Oh my God - Last Flowers definately does the live version justice!

How does CD2 compare with the album?

If You Were Brian Eno How Would You Produce LP4?
I know, that would be so awesome. But maybe that's asking a bit too much from them :dozey:

If You Were Brian Eno How Would You Produce LP4?
Exactly my thoughts one the subject, couldn't have put it better actually. I really hope they don't mess this one up. Last night I found myself imagining what the opening track of the album would be like. Starting off with just drums, then the introduction of hard, pounding piano chords, with a guitar riff slowly building ontop of all of it until it becomes a perfect blend of Coldplay sound. Basically, an instrumental track. Uh, now if those aren't signs of desperation for the new record, I don't know what are.
