This is pretty funny. In my band we used to have a bass player that we kicked out because after 2 months, I wanted to beat the shit out of him lol One of the greatest bass players I'v ever seen, but I just couldn't take his damn attitude anymore. So we have a new bass player that is pretty good and works good with the other band members. What I'm trying to say is that you should go with who ever is the most committed and everyone gets alone with. And yes, about everyone these days knows how to play guitar ;)

It also depends on what you want to play. I just bought a new guitar and tried out the Epiphone Casino, but not the Dot. The Casino deff has a nice clean sound to it, but I hated the feedback when you put the distortion on. The guitar I got was an Epiphone Sharton which has a little bit of both worlds. Clean sounds awesome and sounds amazing with distortion and metal even. It should be about the same price as the Casino. But really you need to go to where ever you are buying this guitar and try them both out and see which one you really really love;)
