Hello! :)
Honshu then it is! The Big Island!! My globe's resolution isn't showing Kanagawa, so I'll need to temporarily check on the net for a map..;) Kata-cana characters - have you mastered them?? They're phonetic foreign words, if I'm not mistaken? One trip to Wiki, and I know more than I need to! Yes, so Kanagawa is a prefecture then?! Tokyo's suburbs?

'WE HATE DARK CHOCOLATE' Thread (ALSO JOIN OUR GROUP!)
They're all just a bunch of Chocolate deficient noobs!:laugh3: Chocolate is the nectar of the Gods!! Necessary for those wild, creative visions achieved by Aztec high priests and the rest of us in need of a little boost!:P Buy the fair-trade stuff then if it's hard to discern from the rest where the beans come from, and how the workers are treated.. Or, get a greenhouse, and grow your own! Dark Chocolate (65% Cacao or better) is actually healthy! MMM.. wish I had some handy..

Death's friends
Dr. Jack Kevorkian, for those who are familiar with Dr. Death.. It means something else in their vernacular, I would imagine. Maybe it's referring to someone who's lost family members, and is the sole survivor in his family?

How Big Are CP In The US
Nickelback's great! ... & One good war-protest song they've done! But yes, it's all relative - the radio stations vary so widely across N. America with their lineups, and here, to hear Coldplay on the radio is somewhat of a miracle.. I'll check:\ - I haven't heard them on recently, but our stations generally won't play Coldplay, Radiohead, Oasis, or many, many other top groups.. (regional tastes I gather..) So, how does one gauge the magnitude of a group these days??
-
Random Coldplay thoughts...
:laugh3:Aw, c'mon now, they're just peeps like you and I anyways.. I can only imagine what their kids go through, though.. To be famous is one thing, but to be the children of famous people is quite another! Oh well, they'll do fine - just gotta be a different way of growing up..

Green Economy & Fair Trade Globe
The Manifesto: A Common Elements Approach to Humanity's Future: What I am proposing is the idea that, to have a healthy economy, we need to focus on risk; a large segment of which is due to our choices for materials. Given the natural global limit on supplies of certain metals, and the risks associated with their mining and refining, I see a future where we have intelligently chosen to use the less risk-adverse metals, ceramics, natural materials, and bio-plastics to replace the current applications of these metals whenever possible. New battery technologies, conductors, and corrosion-resistant material will be better if made from the elements common in the Earth's crust, and since we have evolved in sync with our planet, we too will be better off, as our bodies are well adapted to handle these more common elements. Less risk means better living for everyone, and an abundant supply of resources that will be virtually inexhaustible.

Where is everyone?!
I'm about to propose another manifesto..:book2: Not sure if that's so wise here, but, OH WELL! ;=]

Does God play dice with the Universe?

Coldplay vs. U2 for album of the year?
Grammy-award winning groups... :lock::sunny::bandana::laugh3: Personally, the 8-inch nails are much easier to hammer home:P. So, to win the Grammy, you have to (a.) schmooze the members? (b.) patronize the members? (c.) kiss the member's tushes? (d.) be really "artistic" so only members would find the music of high caliber? (e.) groom the member's pets? :gorgeous: (f.) something else..

How Big Are CP In The US
As a member of the registered society of hermits, I would have to guess!:P Given that they pretty much own the top listened-to songs on LastFM, and with all the publicity going all-out, I think they're No.1. (but as the old Dixie-cup joke goes, "what did the Beatles say when hiking near the base of a mountain during an avalanche? Look out for the Rolling Stones!":laugh3: ) For some reason, when I think of New Jersey, I think of Garden State:)..

Where is everyone?!
How can anyone be bored?? There's a zillion things to do and discover! What about searching on the net for something amazing, like pictures of planets, or music, or anything!

Help Me Open Live For Coldplay Please *bites fingers*
Well, that's California for you! National Geographic had a special on the west, and California's covered quite extensively - it's just a natural condition living with surrounding dry chaparral forest and brush - but yea, that would be a bit strange to us in the upper Midwest! We did have some smoke from fires burning out in the Dakotas once, but it was pretty mild by comparison.. But musically, you'll do fine! Just breath a little oxygen first, and you'll be good to go!:)

Green Economy & Fair Trade Globe
Anyhow, but onward to a Green Economy! = . = My philosophy is to minimize risk in materials we use. Say, for instance, instead of using plastics that are high-risk to make, and present an environmental hazard to workers, consumers, and ultimately the global environment, I tend to select bioplastics when possible, or use natural products to replace the functions of those plastics. Better still would be to simply phase out the dangerous types for all but critical applications, and make biodegradable types by and large the norm. Knowing there's a floating mass of plastic bits out in the ocean the size of the continent of Africa has me pretty much freaked out - it was bad enough just realizing the risks in the making and using of these products, but to think of us doing that much damage to the oceans with just plastic is mind boggling.. And the same could be said for certain types of metals. Reducing demand for the risky ones by using substitute materials seems to offer a way out of many dilemmas..

Hi! / Hola!
Hola Cris! Welcome to Ian's funhouse!:laugh3: And how was that concert?
