The Cool and Crazy Coldplay Caption Thread!
Phtographer: "Okay, hold it up-- yeah, perfect. Now one more time, how long did Chris have it on his back?" Jonny: "Oh it was brilliant! Had it on his back for the whole bloody performance! Couldn't figure out why everyone was laughin' at him!" Chris: [under his breath] "Yeah, bloody funny, Jonny. You just wait 'till we get back to the hotel. . ." Jonny: "Muahahahaha . . ."

Who's your favorite band member of all time in any band?
Okay, here's my two cents. . . actually it's three :-D John Lennon from the beatles is my all time fav (he was a smart ass punk and I love him for it!!) Followed closely by Thom Yorke from Radiohead and then, of course, Mr. Chris Martin himself. (I know, please, hide your shock . . .)

HELP! Dance Music???
OKAY: My best friend's sister is graduating from High School and we are throwing her a surprise graduation party. WELL, my friend has opted NOT to hire a DJ and knows full well that I am a Kazaa freak and wants me to compile a "dancelist" and made a couple cds worth of music for dancing. Okay, I'm a Coldplay, Radiohead kinda gal and I'm really not UP on what's cool to dance to at parties! :( I need HELP, you guys! What would I put on a tracklist for a party where everyone is going to be primarily 16- 18 years old?!? Yours Sincerely, Pulling Her Hair Out in LA

The Cool and Crazy Coldplay Caption Thread!
Okay, so every message board usually has one of these. I couldn't find a thread for it, so if there already is one of these, then I am sure the moderators will close this thread, but hopefully we'll get to have a lot of fun here! You all know the way these works: post a pic and let the rest of us get creative on it! I'll start the festivities with this one: "No, I swear, it really *is* this big!" next?

Hollywood Bowl Pics
Actually, the Hollywood Bowl is one of the most beautiful ampitheaters I've ever been to! It's smack in the middle of the Hollywood hills and it's such a relaxing atmosphere: most people who go pack a nice picnic with wine and champagne and crackers and other fingerfoods and lounge around for a while before going in for the show. It's also cool 'cause every seat is a good one. (We were sitting towards the back, but still could see everything.) Sorry, it's just that a really good friend of mine plays bass for the philharmonic that usually plays there, so I'm rather partial to that place . . . :D

Chris signed the Guestbook!
Yeah-- doubtful it's him. Some flippin' moron signed a guestbook on my friend's website about an actor we like, claiming to be him. She was *flooded* with emails from pubescent girls swooning 'Oh I can't believe he signed it! How wonderful!' when it really turned out to not be him at all. Some people have nothing better to do . . .

Would you pay money for a Coldplaying t-shirt?
I would certainly buy it! :) (just paid 30 bucks for one over the weekend at the concert -- and my friend made me a shirt that says "politik"! It's awesome: just a plain black shirt with "politik" in small white letters". Love it . . .)

Stereophonics
I think the Stereophonics are a *fantastic* band and really wish they were known here in the States. I first heard them about three years ago visiting my best friend in beford and was totally surprised by how good they were!

whats the hell is up with all these 'the' bands...?
Er . . . Mr. Peed? Your avatar is REALLY freakin' me out there . . . :o (but *quite* funny . . . )

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
:-D hee hee hee. My favorite line: "WHO was Joan of Ark?" "Uh . . . Noah's wife?" OH and I love it when the teacher says "So then what you're telling me is that Napoleon was a short, dead dude?"

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Holy Shmoses. People will make *anything* into a movie these days. I hope this doesn't start a trend of 'lets turn a popular song into a movie' because if so. . . we are all screwed. *cringes* Can you imagine? "Warner Bros. is proud to present the story of a woman and the man who wanted her nekked. . . "Rock Your Body" starring Justin Timberlake . . ." **RUNS SCREAMING**

countdown to HAIL TO THE THIEF!!!!!
**I can't wait**!! EVER so excited about Hail to the Theif! At the Coldplay concert in LA on Saturday night they were handing out "Hail to the Theif" stickers! I GOT ONE!!!! YEAH!!!

Chris's water bottle.
I'm just jealous they played "Life is For Living". Have they played that at anyone else's concert? They didn't play it an the LA shows. . .

New Song @ Hollywood Bowl??
It was a faster one-- I asked my friend who went to their second show on Monday night, and she confirmed this too. In fact, I almost thought that it was Poor Me at first-- but they played Poor Me later too. :)

New Song @ Hollywood Bowl??
Hi Amanda! I'm Carley! And I'd just like to say . . . Crusty Crab Pizza is the only pizza for me! :-D
-
Why you love coldplay :)
Why? Because it's not an easy task to render me speechless. And they do. With damn near every song, they do.

New Song @ Hollywood Bowl??
How funny! And I thought we were special! :D Well, I guess if you find a crowd-pleasing joke, it's best to stick with it!

NAMES!!! NAMES!!!NAMES!!!
(no offense to any Carley's or blondes out there. . .) I personally do NOT like my name for three main reasons. Number Three? Because every Carley I have ever met is just a complete ditz. Admittedly, in High School my nickname was "Phoebe" (yes, the Friends Phoebe) so I am not without my. . . *cough* Cooky-ness *cough* ;) But, still, Carley's tend to bring a certain image to mind: an image which I resemble in no way. Number Two: NO ONE seems to ever get my name right. I really don't care-- it's no big deal, but I'm either Carla, Carrie, Carmen, Kara, Kayla, Chrissy, Karen . . . you get the picture. AND THE NUMBER ONE REASON I DO NOT LIKE MY NAME: In grade school I quickly discovered that my name was the easiest one to do the Name Game to: "Carley Barley Bo-Barley Bannana Fanna Fo-Farley, Me Mi Mo-Marley! Carley" So right down to this very day I am still called (albeit affectionately) "Barley". *sigh*

New Song @ Hollywood Bowl??
LoL! Yeah, that was *so funny* when he said that! Remember? He was singing 'Everything's Not Lost' and just slipped in the lyric "you just cut your hair and you regret it, it'll grow back don't you know." TOO FUNNY! And as for the new song? Yeah, it was fantastic! I remember they totally rocked the bowl with it-- wish to God I knew what it was called.

coldplay vs radiohead
Me Too! :-D Well, as the saying goes, to each his own. There is no right or wrong answer to this topic, despite the fact that many will fight tooth and nail to try and prove the contrary. I happen to, of course, adore Coldplay, I love Oasis and damn-near worship Radiohead. All for different reasons. There are fantastic things about all of those bands: what makes Oasis great is not the same thing that makes Radiohead great, and what makes Radiohead great is not the same thing that makes Coldplay great and vice versa, etc., etc., I count down the days to Radiohead’s new album (Hail to the Thief! Yeah!) with eagerness just as I count down the days to Coldplay’s new album. I happen to personally prefer Coldplay more at the moment, but I really do not think it is a fair thing to call such stellar bands “better” than the other. Radiohead is the veteran: they really got me and countless like me through High School without totally losing it, Oasis is the I-Don’t-Give-A-#*@%-Here-It-Is-Like-It-Or-Not and I love them for it, and Coldplay are the new fellas on the block: they have such an incredible future in front of them and it really is exciting to think of what wonderful things they’re going to do for music. (I mean, really: what other band out there today is like a breath of fresh air when their music comes on the radio? My * humble * opinion is that them and bands like them are going to save modern rock from falling into insipidity. . .) So I guess my point is: everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It’s just not fair to throw that opinion in someone else’s face as though it were gospel. ‘Cause it’s not. :)
