well i do biolgy and we talked about organ donorship earlier in the year. a point you havent got is as follows. you know how they try to 'match' organs? well, no two people will ever match. only identical twins have indentical tissue. all other people have different antigens (protein recognition markers) on the outside of their body cells. if these antigens are different and detected by the body as non-self, the body well begin to destroy the tissue... so.. unless someone recieves their organ from an indentical twin, they need to take immunosuppressant drugs. these drugs turn off the immune system so it wont recognise the foreign antigens (the organ) in the body. however the negative effect to these immunosuppresant drugs is that they make the recipient alot more susceptible to small diseases like the flu as their immune systems capability is diminished. they also often feel lathargic and experience nausea. *BIG POINT YOU SHOULD INCLUDE!!* i know, i'm a biology nerd :P
