these look like they probably came from posts on the timeline on Coldplay's official site, so i would say they're good to go ;)

they'd have to be really short songs so they don't break their 42-minute album rule :P

i don't necessarily think this happened in this instance, but the idea of one piece of what was supposed to be a Big Sean song ending up as part of a collab with Coldplay on a song originally without collaboration is not completely out of the realm of possibility. that's what happened with Lost+, after all

i see what you mean, but the thing for me in this instance is that it's not an album, it's only an EP i feel like for them it's more about sharing these songs they were excited to make rather than marketing it like they would with an LP. whoever was going to buy it before the band went and practically released it already is still going to buy it once it actually comes out and whoever isn't going to probably wasn't going to from the start. :p

actually, i feel like releasing the songs on youtube might make casual listeners more inclined to buy it? or at least they know that it and those songs exist. i feel like if it's an EP probably only more interested fans are going to be the ones buying it anyway, but i could be wrong

or Hypnotised, since we can't know how it differs from the version they released in March (especially with the extra time on there) til we get the EP but still, they have in some form given us the entire EP already, just not the way we actually want it :P

yeah, i think the argument could be made that the perspective Eno brought of the band being free to make whatever kind of music they want and not care about genres maybe in some ways influenced them to turn to, as people say, more "pop" songs and collaborations with people they probably would not have felt comfortable collaborating with before so it's not Eno having a direct effect on the music like, say, Stargate did. more of just a ripple effect

or maybe it's just Chris eating more chocolate buttons :joy:

haha, i mean it's up to interpretation! i could see how those original two songs would fit on there, but All Your Friends and Ghost Story definitely have more of a dark sound to them musically than Magic and Everglow :D

it's possible, but the South Bank Show episode came out in 2009, two full years before MX was released and we all know how long it took them to get to the final version of that, the acoustic album that was partly tossed, etc :P it's kinda that weird in between of the two eras that happens since recording and release/touring happen so far apart but either era makes sense for both Eno & Dravs
