You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
When you have to hear every alt version, remix or b-side they've ever put out!

Hi I'm Jimmy and I hate Coldplay!
I can relate because personally I find myself at odds with alot of Coldplay fans music wise. I still like my heavy metal and tend to dislike most of the bands that are considered to be in Coldplay's ilk. Ironically I guess I actually hate Martin's influence Bono and U2 but love Coldplay. The reason for this is because honestly they're such a multi-dimensional band, or atleast unlike alot of their counterparts they wallow in the muck and sorrow and can also be as bright and beautiful as any band before or since. They seem to understand that to play only one kind of song is to be limiting and further experiment with their sound. What's cool though is that Coldplay mainly started out as a more instrumental based band and now their sound is more synthetic in nature but in a good way. Besides Chris' voice doesn't annoy the piss out of me like say Bono or the guy from The Killers. And I too used to HATE Coldplay or I should say more specifically the song "Yellow" (don't worry, I've come to appreciate that song as much as any of their tracks). I think the first song that I actually liked by Coldplay was "What If". That song turned me into a fan of the band, well that and Clocks. Plus I couldn't believe they cut such heavy tracks like "Politik" and "Square One" (Btw Glass Of Water blew me away when I heard that one, again Coldplay branches out) but then could write such happy and sad songs. After back tracking I began to love each album although for me personally I enjoy more of Coldplay's NON-Hits...I'm like that with every band though.

Liam Gallagher still hates Coldplay...or their fans
I dunno, I seemed to remember having an extremely good time at the Coldplay concert I attended. I guess it's a good thing I turned my friend down when he asked me if I wanted to attend the Oasis concert he won FREE tickets to. Even if it was free I KNOW I wouldn't be having a time at THEIR concert. Hey Liam, you'll never be The Beatles...time to stop trying.

Now That We Have It....REACTIONS
LIT II - Amazing Song. This honestly should have opened the actual album, or at the very least bookended it. Ie. DAAOHF then LIT II then The Escapist...but that's just me. Postcards From Far Away - I read a review on here where someone said it was good that this song was in the middle of two epic songs and it's true, it's a good little bookmark as it were, although I wish it were longer. Glass Of Water - Literally the best song on the whole E.P. It reaches the epic heights of Viva La Vida and Violet Hill but also sounds heavy and weighted, it's like a song that us rockers have been waiting for coldplay to release for years now. Rainy Day - Eh, sounds too much like U2. I love the chorus "Oh rainy day" but the verses are straight from anything U2 does these days...and what's great about Coldplay for me is that they AREN'T U2. Though the song is rapidly growing on me, it's a nice little break between the better songs IMO and even if I don't like the "different" direction I have to give Coldplay kudos for doing something different. Prospekt's March/Poppyfields - This is becoming my second favourite song on the whole album, it could do with being a bit longer but it really is a soft and uplifting little song. Poppyfields is pretty cool too, it uses a guitar effect that I have on m guitar pedal so I like it for that :D Lost+ - Honestly....this didn't need to be on here, one rhyme from Jay-Z really isn't inclusion worthy and this version of the song really fit better on the Lost Single. Heck the song is pretty much what you get on VLV plus one verse from Jay-Z...now if the song had changed somewhat...come to think of it, if Lost had to make it to Prospekt's March I would have prefered the Piano Version Lovers In Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) - Same as above, why was this included? So that we could have a single version of LIJ instead of it being tacked on with Reign Of Love? I really like Lovers In Japan, it's a great track, but how is this a remix? Coldplay really could have put something better on here like say including "Death Will Never Conquer" or even "Spell A Rebel Yell" or how about the "Thin White Duke Remix" of Viva La Vida? Now My Feet Won't Touch The Ground - I've listened to the song abit but honestly it's not as memorable as the previous songs. That's not meant as a bad thing but I also blame this on the fact that it's the last track, wedged in between two tracks I feel were personally pointless to have been included on this E.P. so when I do get to Lost + I'm more than likely to shut the CD off than to let it play through or skip to this song. Maybe I'll add more to this once the song becomes engrained in my brain like "Prospekt's March" and "Glass Of Water" are.

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
I notice Johnny and Will on the team, but where are Guy and Chris? Do they join in? Edit: I can't tell, but is that Guy in the black 72 jersey?

My new fav song
Sorry if this has been brought up, but is this Chris Martin singing the whole way through the song? Cause I swear during the more spoken part of the song it sounds like Bono from U2.

AMAZING SONG!
Just my opinion but Glass Of Water is the only song on here that should have been on the actual VLV album. I guess we already had epicness with Viva La Vida itself and even the closing track, too much epicness? Either way it is (again IMO) the best song on the whole E.P.

03-Nov-08: Detroit - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 05-Jul]
I was just glad to see Coldplay Live. I went with my best friend, who has a child on the way, so originally the Coldplay show was out of the question because their delivery date was supposed to be around then. So as the show got closer and closer any hope of going to see them got further and further out of reach. However as November 3rd got closer he and his wife started to realize that the baby wouldn't be out by the 3rd. So the race was on.......again. This would be the THIRD time my friend saw Coldplay Live and still that didn't deter him from getting tickets. The guy was on the phone like crazy trying to talk to people with tickets. At one point there were tickets to the far right of the stage. My friend was going to buy those for 200 dollars a pop. Always trying for a deal, he held off and tried other avenues. As the day of the concert came, the one lady decided to jack up the price because someone else was desperate enough to buy them. The other offer didn't come through and she sold her tickets. Fearing that we were screwed.....my friend opted for the only resource left to him.......TICKETMASTER. We would have been content getting nosebleeds but when he called asking for best available we got FLOOR SEATS in the A section. I couldn't believe it, neither could he. Best part, they were 100 dollars cheaper than the girl wanted her tickets for. My friend made a comment that's so true, as we stood on the floor for the concert he looked back and said "See those people back there?" I turned and said "Yeah" and he responded "those people bought their tickets months ago....we bought ours TODAY and we're on the floor!" As for the show itself, it was amazing. I was a little sad that some songs they played, the ones from Viva La Vida weren't getting the love that they deserved. Nobody seemed to sing for "42" or even knew what the "Chinese Sleep Chant" was. Then again, I haven't really heard anything from the forthcoming 'Prospekts March' E.P. so I didn't recognize the stuff from that either. What I WAS happy about was that they played "Cemeteries Of London" one of my favourite tracks from Viva La Vida. I was hoping they'd play it and my friend who had seen Coldplay on the Twisted Logic Tour assured me that they'd play most of the 'NEW' album at the show and I was the only one who yelled "YESSSSSS!" when they started playing 'Cemeteries' which was sadly another song nobody seemed to know the lyrics for! I knew going in I'd probably wouldn't be hearing "What If", "X & Y", "Don't Panic", "Shiver" (sad that only one song from Parachutes made the concert...oh well!) so it wasn't so bad when I heard "42", "Cemeteries", "Lost!" and the like. Man was Viva La Vida electric or what? That's pretty much replaced Clocks as having the best live vibe....or atleast at that show it was.....I think it's because Clocks was played early and Viva La Vida was the anticipated song everyone was waiting for them to launch into. Either way, they played every song you'd hope they would and delivered a solid show. Those guys are blessed to be able to do that every night and feel the love from the crowd, such amazing artists is Coldplay!
