I remember reading that, too. And Chris always seems to mention he is the least important part of the band. He always admits that the other members do most of the composition and technical aspects when they're writing and recording. And also keep in mind that Will is probably the most musically skilled out of them all (but no offense to the other guys, they're all incredible musicians). He taught himself how to drum to be a part of Coldplay. He was already playing guitar and piano and such, so in reality he can do it all. Haha not LITERALLY do everything without the other guys, but you probably won't see Chris trying to jump behind the drums for Square One ;) So when Chris says "I live in fear of someone leaving" he most definitely means it. Don't get me wrong, he sounds lovely by himself with a piano, but that's only 25% of the Coldplay we know and love :nice:

Spies again for me, I almost always skip the track... Mostly cause I wanna get to the rest of the album when I'm listening :D This is gonna get harddd in a few more rounds.

Agreed, I was just about to say that. That stuff usually gets taken down pretty quick, too...

OBVIOUSLY Jonny boy is gonna whip out the E-bow and play the ENTIRE string arrangement on his guitar :P No for real they have to have strings backing them, the strings make up a majority of the song. I mean, its how the song begins for chrissakes... Will is gonna stand behind some massive symphonic drums and Guy will be directing the orchestra :D:cool:

Yeah two or three votes for Shiver sounds more realistic, its SHIVER. One of the Coldplay songs I fall in love with all over again every time I hear it. There's no way its getting out done by Parachutes and Life Is For Living in a poll on a Coldplay fan site. THE Coldplay fan site for that matter :rolleyes:

Yeah I agree with you guys, I'll probably only listen to the leak if its as close to CD quality as possible. AND I don't think I'll grab the leak if it happens within two or three days of the album coming out. I'd rather just wait a little while longer for the best quality. If the leak happens this week I'll be too tempted by everyone freaking out and passing around the "OMFG YOU GOTTA HEAR THIS" comments :P

Ha I wish I could. I just can't resist snooping around for a leak of the full album. Stop teasing us with samples Coldplay!

Haha no I rated the SAMPLE dude, obviously I'm not judging the whole song. I liked what I heard A LOT because we're finally getting a better taste of the other band members besides Chris and Jonny. And I forgot to mention you hear WAY more of Guy as well. The bass line is killer. But the sample gets an 8/10 cause it sounds different from the norm of Coldplay we're used to. I'm not saying I'm afraid of this new sound, but I'm definitely still getting used to it. If the sample sounded like rubbish then I would give it a rubbish rating. But nor is it a perfectly incredible sample of music that I would listen to over and over by itself. But it was still very cool for how short it was. An 8/10 for the clip of Coldplay's new sound. ;)

Ha well yeah, I'll rate what I've heard I guess. Can't rate the full song yet... 8/10 on the clip because we've finally heard A LOT more of Will and Jonny boy :D

Yup its definitely straight 4/4 Sounds like Will is playing 2/4 as the sample begins but the rest is all 4/4 Just find the downbeat and count to eight

Just heard Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap for the first time today, absolutely beautiful and eerie song. Apparently its been out for awhile so I was wondering if anyone knows the type of vocoder or even the settings she uses on her vocal track. The vocoder synths I've found online are fairly pricey and I've only found a single ProTools plug in. Any thoughts from people who are familiar with the song or who know anything about vocoders?

Wow this sounds so different from what we've heard so far. This is definitely the X&Y sound rubbing off on them still. But it was only 30 second clip so who knows what the rest sounds like. Hopefully some vocals that can be sung to the rafters ;)

Well judging by what else has surfaced so far this year I don't think it would be too out of the question. Anything Coldplay related (or even Eno related for that matter) usually does pretty good. I mean it is hailed as the most IMPORTANT album of the year, so I'd say thats one step closer to album of the year ;)
