Lyrics
This one is great: Lay Down Your Weary Tune (version of The Byrds) written by Bob Dylan Lay down your weary tune, lay down Lay down the song you strum And rest yourself beneath the strength of strings No voice can hope to hum Struck by the sounds before the sun I knew the night had gone The morning breeze like a bugle blew Against the drums of dawn Lay down your weary tune, lay down Lay down the song you strum And rest yourself beneath the strength of strings No voice can hope to hum The ocean wild like an organ played The seaweed wove it's strands The crashin' waves like cymbals clashed Against the rocks and sands Lay down your weary tune, lay down Lay down the song you strum And rest yourself beneath the strength of strings No voice can hope to hum The last of leaves fell from the trees And clung to a new love's breast The branches bare like a banjo played To the winds that listened best Lay down your weary tune, lay down Lay down the song you strum And rest yourself beneath the strength of strings No voice can hope to hum

'official i hate green day' thread
Green Day music is so disgusting! I hate that "singers" voice. AND: As a Coldplay fan I´m surrounded by Green Day fans and none of them likes Coldplay, so I don´t have anyone around me to talk to.

The Beatles
In my opinion, everyone loves the Beatles and those who say they don´t love them (at least a bit) just don´t know they do love them. :)

Good music is gone.......
...the past has given us so much good music. (that´s my solace)

Good music is gone.......
Apart from the classic rock legends and Coldplay, there is not much good music anymore. But you can still listen to Coldplay and the music of the past. By the way, Bob Dylan and Sting agree with us. According to them, the music business hasn´t offered us good stuff for over 20 years.

Favourite decade in music?
I voted for the 70s. A lot of timeless music was released then.

German music....
I don´t listen to German music but there´s one great song that comes into my mind: Die Toten Hosen - Unsterblich. (I´m not a Hosen-fan) At the moment, there is so much rubbish in the German single charts like singing children & mush music. I don´t want to turn on a normal radio station anymore! :dizzy2: :shifty:

Life On Mars + Ashes To Ashes
I watched Life on Mars and I really enjoyed it. Especially the music was hot (Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep or Louis Armstrong´s "Wonderful World" ). When I read it played in 1973, I knew I had to watch it because I love the music of the 70s. But after the first twenty minutes I was also interestet in the story.:)
