  1. Some good points, and I hope you're right, but 5 probably doesn't work. 'Lost?' is almost definitely just an acoustic (piano) version of 'Lost!'
  2. Seems you have gender insecurity issues :o Look, man, your posts have honest to God made me want to punch you in the face. Really hard. I don't care what you want to classify Coldplay as - it doesn't matter. If it sounds good, I'll listen to it and love it, if it doesn't, I won't. And this sounds good; very good. It might not be the same, but you can't give me this BS saying they're wimps. Violet Hill's one of their heaviest tracks yet. And Muse has stronger lyrics than these songs? Bahahahaha. Muse may be great and all, but their lyrics are quite generic. You want songs that talk about real issues? What's more real than history, honestly? These are just as deep as before, but with an added level of poetry and story-telling. If anything, these are more original lyrics than Coldplay's earlier work. Your comments about the synths only apply to A Spell, and that's not an album track. It's just something they were playing around with and I'm guessing they didn't consider it strong enough for the full album. VLV isn't synths; it's violins and bells. "For some reason I can't explain, I know St. Peter won't call my name." Please just stop running around these boards and saying how much you don't like the new music. What good is it doing? It's clearly not convincing people to stop listening to it, and it's not like you've even heard the full album yet. Lost? is from VLVOD and it sounds like the classics. PS: Coldplay's always been played on pop stations.... And from what I've heard VH is getting a decent bit of rock station play.
  3. You know, for some reason, this song reminds me of Christmas music. Must be the bells. :D But, yes, this is truly amazing. Absolutely love the "Hear Jerusalem bells a-ringing, Roman calvary choirs a-singing!" The whole song is full of amazing lyrics, just like Violet Hill. VLVOD is going to be an incredible album, so much more diverse than anything before it, even if it's not classic like AROBTTH (though, there's a possibility it will be, I think). I've been jumping around my room dancing to this song (probably on 10 plays already), and I very very rarely do that. Most I usually ever do is spinning-chair-dances! Oh, and the harmony near the end of the song, so good! Though, I have to say, the happiness of this song makes me not want to listen to Violet Hill, which is a bit of a shame. Love that song too! Roll on June 17th, roll on! PS: I think I'm going to end up ordering the album on iTunes and getting a retail CD, I want the 2 acoustic from iTunes and I HAVE to have an actual CD...
  4. Link replied to nmsv's topic in Violet Hill
I'm really starting to think that one line is "My legs are posed, unfolds". That's what it sounds like on my headphones, at least, and it fits with the two lines before, I think. But on my surround sound, it sounds like "My love's a poem, it unfolds". I think there definitely needs to be an "it" there if it's the poem one, "My love's a poem, unfolds" really doesn't work, imo. Though the first idea I wrote also has the same problem, and there's no way he says "they unfold"... Have to say, the lyrics are definitely what's kept me listening to the song so much over the past few days. Not that the actual song's not great, but the lyrics are incredible.
  5. The lyrics on the top left "I used to rule the world" definitely has me interested. I think this definitely enforces that VLVODAAHF will have the most complex CP lyrics by far!
  6. Photoshopped the three mask-looking pictures together so it's easier for anyone interested in trying to read more of the writing. They're off for some reason, though.
  7. Agreed. The album obviously needs some slow, beautiful songs, but this really sounded just... boring. Don't get me wrong, Chris's vocals were great, but that's about all there was to the clip(may be different in the full song). I like VH because it's the next step; Parachutes, AROBTTH and X&Y were all quite different styles, and if VLV is like this song, it'll be more of X&Y V2 than step 4. I'll wait til the full thing is out to pass judgement, but as of now I think VLV needs to be more VH than this. And I can't believe people are calling VH boring? It's got so much - a big range in Chris's singing, amazing drumming by Will, Jonny's smooth guitar solo, some of the best lyrics they've ever written, and the lovely piano ending - how is it boring? It's very different from their previous music while still keeping that Coldplay sound. Surely that's better than this song, which as many have pointed out, sounds like U2? Yeah, U2's great and all, but Coldplay isn't U2.
  8. Instead of the regular plastic case it's more like a wallet - it's made out of.. er.. I guess it's just thick paper - one side folds to the left, then under that, the other side folds to the right. A lot of albums are being made this way now as there's no risk of the case getting cracked. And what? It won't ship to the US? I wouldn't have minded the really expensive shipping... :(
  9. I don't usually get excited about music or put songs on repeat, but last night I was jumping up and down with excitement and I've finally got the song now - I think it's AMAZING. Love love love the lyrics, Jonny's guitar solo, the great beat, just the whole sound of it. Did anyone else get the Spanish-y feel from it like they were talking about for the album? I thought it was most noticable in the guitar solo and there was something of it in the drum beats, too. On 5th play right now. I think people around me may start to get annoyed soon.
  10. I second that!
  11. I'm really hoping it's like that, it might actually be possible for me to drive up from Virginia to go to it, but I wouldn't do it if I didn't definitely have a ticket. I may end up just waiting for the full tour and pay for it, because like someone else said above me, this'll probably just be a runthrough of the album, and I'd rather hear a variety since I've never seen them live before.
  12. Wow, I just like, completely freaked out when I read that. Especially the way it shifts from being really loud to just Chris and the piano. It sounds AMAZING.
  13. Aww.. Could you happen to make one or two in 1440x900? I can't use any of those because they're not widescreen :(
  14. Yeah.. I just went to a concert for a different artist, John Mayer, and really I felt like.. 'Man, I want to go again' for a very long time.. It's annoying because it was so cool, but it only lasts a few hours. Be glad you got to go at least see Coldplay once, I'm dying to now, and they've just gone off tour.. Hopefully they'll come to America once they start again, I know I'll have to travel somewhere since Virginia isn't a place they'd come, but I don't mind. The concerts are always better in the bigger cities anyway. Cooler lights :P
