  1. I've never seen Chris with a hummingbird, cool to know he has one. My acoutsic of choice is an acoustic Firebird, essentially a hummingbird with reshaped pickguard and made out of wild maple, very cool if I do say so...
  2. If you happen to find it, please do post it (or PM me):D Also if you (or anyone happens to have any of the following, I would be thankful to have them: Jon's GPASUYF tuning Jon's Warning Sign tuning All the tabs I can find for these give the tunings for acoustic parts, and those are really of no use to me:dozey:
  3. http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=Sections&req=viewarticle&artid=233&page=1 If you scroll down a ways, Jon mentions that the Jazzmaster originally belonged to Chris. Not much of a "story" though... Hope this helps (at least slightly):D
  4. I'm trying to work out a tuning for The Scientist (electric part.) Is it the same as the tuning for GPASUYF (dropped A I think, it seems different at different gigs)?
  5. I've read about the Jazzmaster is several articles (some of which I'm sure are archived here) sorry, I can't remember any specifics at the moment...:\ Jonny's Blue Telecaster JD is the one that used to belong to Will.
  6. Ric's are AWESOME guitars indeed...;) (Personally though, I'm not too keen on the Jetglow finish, I much prefer both Fireglow and Mapleglow, but to each his own...) Jon actually has quite a bit of re-tuning done during the course of shows. (not uncommon, but he seems to have his Tele's retuned more than most.) The guys actually seem to "share" guitars a lot too. Jon's Jazzmaster technically belongs to Chris, and the also swap acoustics among one another often.) BTW, Chris doesn't use a hummingbird, do you mean his Gibson J-200?
  7. During the AROBTTH tour. Did Chris and Jon share a single Ric 360? They were both Jetglow and they never played with it on the same track. Weird Question, but it's one of those things I can't get out of my mind until I find an answer...
  8. Regarding the blacked out car: I know in at least some places here in the States, there are severe restrictions on the use of tinting on vehicle windows.
  9. VLVOD Track listing announced! No, not really...:P (Sorry to a an ass, I'm just really board today...)
  10. "That would be Supergrass you mean" My mistake...:embarassed:
  11. The dream theatre kit in that pic is indeed a duel kit. (you can clearly see two drum stools in the pic). Will's Kit is actually, relatively simple, compared to what most drummers in acts the profile of Coldplay use.
  12. Stereophonics' Road to Rouen has nine songs and is considered by some critics to be one of the finest records of the last several years.:smug:
  13. I see... (don't mind me, I'm a Little Slow.)
  14. "I find the title of this thread misleading" How so? It is discusses exactly what the title states... "That's why I love Coldplay so much! They care SOOOO much about their fans and they take the extra steps with us" Which is why I guess I get so worked up over this. Considering the band do care enough to take extra steps, it seems somewhat tacky to complain that they're not doing enough...
  15. My comments were only partly directed at you, though it was never really my intent to single out or offend anyone. If I offended you, I apologize.:embarassed: I was just responding to what I saw as an increasingly negative trend here on these boards, brought on by what I see as an attempt to be as forthcoming with information as possible by the band.
  16. "But you have to understand that we are DIE HARD Coldplay fans. When you feel so passionate about something and you're given little tidbits like the Prospekt entries, it can mean the world to a fan. this is the ONLY place we have to chat with other dyed in the wool Coldplay fans. I would whole hearted disagree about it being "bitching", and chalk it up to mere impatience. " Not Everyone responds the same way. On the spectrum of things, you are one of the more mellow people in regards to the whole update situation. Thus, while you may not be "bitching" in your comments, there are others whose comments can only be described that way. (in my mind at least...) I guess my central point is that if Coldplay wanted to piss off their fans, it would be easier to justy not bother with updates at all. Just a thought, perhaps the reason more bands don't adopt this update strategy, is precisely because they don't want to go to the extra work only to be exposed to extra critisism...
  17. Perhaps you are... I was merely pointing out that if Coldplay really didn't care about sharing information with their fans, they wouldn't have bothered to post any updates at all. I just wanted to add perspective to the issue, since the band in fact has offered more updates on their recording process then most, and many people seem incapable or unwilling to acknowledge this.
  18. Ok, time for the latest in my parade of Coldplay equipment questions... What type of Strings does Jon Use? He seems to prefer lighter strings from what I can tell, but in all the online gear listings, I can't seem to find any info on the strings he uses.
  19. I'm waiting for 3 records in '08, U2, Oasis, and Coldplay, and of the three, Coldplay has been providing updates at every stage of the prcess, whereas the other two bands have released little to nothing on their forthcoming releases. As I said above, some of you guys need to get a little perspective...
  20. To be frank, the band seems IMHO to already be providing more information then a lot of others would. Most bands don't say anything about a new release except for a generic press release a few months before the drop date that is written by the label as opposed to the band. At least Coldplay seems to want to share information on the ongoing process as they work on it. The bad thing is, it's really a no win scenerio for the band, as if they say nothing people will bitch that they're not releasing any info, whereas if they try to keep their fans updated on the work in progress, people bitch that things get changed from time to time and that the updates don't come fast enough... It seems to me the band is trying to keep fans "in the loop" as much as possible, it's a shame some of the fans can't be as gracious...(but that's just my opinion)
  21. Well, Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but one of the knocks on X&Y was that it was too long and/or "draggy", so maybe the concise length of the new album is in part a reaction to that.
  22. The official announcement of Tracklisting/Artwork for X&Y was on 4/4/05, so by that metric, we can't get too upset at not having official word for at least one or two more weeks...
  23. Yeah, I guess he doesn't use it so much anymore, but I was talking about those songs from the AROBTTH era you mentioned. Back when he was using the Ric 360, he seemed to always have some type of distortion on it.
  24. You don't need a ticket to go, you just have to show up early enough to get a spot.
  25. I know Jonny uses a RAT and a Tonebender Colorsound, but what does Chris use. He gets a nice mellow distortion a lot when he's playing rhythm, but as far as I know he doesn't use any pedals; does he have a rackmount unit?
