Haha that gave me a good laugh. I feel bad cause I have been so busy and haven't played much in my spare time. I definitely want to get back into it very soon though. I actually have to re learn Violet Hill as embarrassing as that is [emoji15] haha. But I do plan on doing that as well as Speed Of Sound and hopefully For You.

I started thinking more realistically about dates, and it makes more sense to have a single release closer to the festival so the excitement and newness doesn't die down. I feel this past Monday would have been too far from the festivals to release. That being said, I think (and this is purely speculation) that September 1st is another date to look at. Not only is it the first of the month, but it is also on a Tuesday, when singles are more likely to be released. It would be a great way to kick off a new month with two different performances as well. Like I said this is just speculation, so don't take this as fact. If this did happen, they could start teasing us next weekend. That's just my thoughts but I'm not expecting anything til the I Heart Radio gig. Its just fun speculating with you all while we wait for actual news ☺

Yeah, I think we will know for sure if and when he posts the next lyric/video. Just gotta be patient [emoji16]. Although watch, we are all looking and waiting for a pattern and they will just drop the single out of nowhere. *wishful thinking*

Either Anchorman is actually trying to drop hints or he is just bored with lack of activity like us, so he is posting whatever songs he wants, to see what the fandom's reaction will be lol. "hmmmm, I wonder what theories they will come up with if I post this. Lets find out." Haha. Although the more I think about it, he could have posted any songs and he picked the first singles of the last 2 albums (excluding Ghost Stories). Either way, the speculating is fun. I hope Jonny and the cake is right.

Thats what I was thinking. Not too sure about this theory. It does seem very plausible at the moment, but I don't want to get my hopes up. Although if they post Speed Of Sound next, that will make it a lot more believable.

That would have been even better! And great points. They always change they way they do things. I feel like with this being a final chapter of some sort with them putting everything they have into it, why not just drop it randomly without warning. I like building hype, but I would be super excited if I woke up and looked at my phone to see a new single has dropped, or even the album for that matter. That would be a crazy moment and definitely a very rememberable one as well.

That would be quite the gift. I remember the music video for ETIAW came out on my birthday and that was awesome. Can't imagine a song being dropped by surprise on my birthday!

That's exactly what I said. If this were the case, why skip Glastonbury this past year? They wouldn't just play a festival for the hell of it, especially one like this. They definitely have something. I think we could see a similar thing with the iTunes festival from last year, where they announced they were playing it and we all were expecting new songs and that's where they debuted a lot of them. Then we got the album two months later.

No I meant that they will play the new single, but won't officially release it til after the festival. I am willing to bet my life that they will play something new at the festival. Only question is, will we here something before then? I think we will.

I personally think that if we don't see anything tomorrow or in the coming weeks, we will see something immediately following the festival. Chris could say something like "We are playing a brand new song that will be up for download after our performance tonight" or something along those lines. I don't know how they are gonna go about it this time. They could announce it a head of time like with Atlas, they could tease it like with ETIAW or Midnight, or they could do something completely new and just post the entire song and have it up for download without any warning. Your guess is a good as mine. (I know that puns been used a million times, but felt obligated to say it lol).

Exactly. Even if they don't drop anything or play any new songs at the festival, we will at least get to see Coldplay in the stage again! Been some time since we last saw them.

I still don't think that this discourages a new single dropping in the next few weeks. He could be working on the album and their first single could already be mixed and mastered, and ready to go. Or he could be focusing on the single itself for now. He can resume work on the album after the single is finished. That's just my opinion anyway. If they do drop a single, I think it's gonna be closer to the live dates next month. Maybe August 31? That's sounds like a good date to me, and if not that I'm saying September 7. But they could surprise us all and drop it on Monday. Who knows, but I am getting really antsy waiting for something. Anything! I'm hoping the anon is right and it's coming soon though.

Honestly I don't think this is the case. I can't see them playing something from Ghost Stories again having just played that at the festival last year. I would think they have something new because newer songs are usually played at festivals like that or new material is being promoted. Now I'm not saying that this will be related to the new album, but I definitely think we will see at least one new song. We will just have to wait and find out! [emoji2]
