Great points here. I think in the MX era, they wanted to do the festival's but needed to play new songs even though the album wasn't quite done yet. So as mentioned above, by the time the album release rolled around, the excitement died down. Where as the Ghost Stories release is just a few weeks away, and the excitement is just beginning! This is incredible! The 40 second trailer had me excited, but this one just gives me goosebumps. I can't wait for this! I'm so glad that everyone is pumped for Ghost Stories. That's what I love about Coldplay. Their lyrics can be interpreted in many ways. Some of the songs on Ghost Stories may have simple lyrics, but they have a deeper meaning. It makes me appreciate the songs that much more. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk

I just posted this in the Another's Arms thread, but I want to share here as well: Okay so I just re listened to Another's Arms after the news of Chris and Gwyneth's split and I really listened to the lyrics and what I got out of it was this: When Chris says, "when the pages rip right through me" I think that's a good reference to the rumor in the magazine of Gwyneth cheating. Then when he says "when the world means nothing to me" I think he's referencing the fact that he is in one of the biggest bands in the world and has all these great fans, all this success and fame, but it doesn't mean anything to him without her. I agree with everyone that the lyrics clearly seem very personal this time around. Listening to Magic now, it seems very sad, and Midnight is even darker. These songs have taken on an entire new meaning for me (as I am sure it has for others) just in the past few hours. Ghost Stories just has a whole new feel to it now. I really feel like the album is based of the past year of Chris' life. As someone said, they have had problems for a few years now and have been trying to work things out, and realized that it is not working. So I believe that Ghost Stories is about a dead relationship. It's about the past. And as simple as some of these lyrics are, I honestly can say that after this news, they somehow feel so much more meaningful. Not that they weren't before, but I can really feel it when listening to the new songs. I don't know if anyone else gets what I am saying, but it is suppose to be a good thing. :lol:
