  1. I am slow when it comes to sexual references. Was the oral sex reference everyone talking about the school lunch comment about the girl's school across the street?
  2. Can you not see them on the page? I'll copy&paste them if you are having trouble seeing 'em
  3. dude, that tab is no good
  4. Kapone, if you could tab murder, that would be excellent!!
  5. I just found this guy's cover on youtube. It's a pretty good cover! Additionally, he gives the chords/tabs on the page - http://youtube.com/watch?v=zTfwKqVP9W0
  6. First and foremost, the site is not serious. Just read the post about 9/11 and Chris being asked to fly. This very much in lieu of the "flying spaghetti monster" joke (google "pastafarianism"). The site, however, is hilarious and brilliant though!
  7. I do not swear often, but FUCK coldplay. To think I actually thought the dudes were cool
  8. ashlee simpson ripped off coldplay? Are you simply giving an imaginary example or did this really happen? I searched youtube and found nothing.
  9. that's a cool shot of the stage at 4 am. On one hand, I am really mad for all of those who attended that some spoiled rich kids were at the VERY front instead of true fans, but on the other, NBC did give coldplaying.com VIP tickets which is a nice unexpected gesture.
  10. so they've never played I Ran Away or Murder live?
  11. I am dirt poor, so once again I could not afford to buy tickets for this show. If anyone ends up having a spare or something, please let me know and I will pay you whatever I have (probably won't be $100, but possibly $50).
  12. Why not Death, Yes, and Cemeteries? I am hoping that they are not playing these songs as perhaps these songs are more difficult to nail live without the full production including extra musicians. Nevertheless, the absence of these songs is quite conspicuous among the early performances. I hope these don't turn into songs like Spies, Sparks, See You Soon, etc. which are great live, but the band completely neglects (how can you neglect your own greatness?). Side question. I have never heard of the band playing I Ran Away or Murder live. Anyone know of them playing these two songs live? Each time I hear these songs, I think, "whoah, this would sound terrific live!"
  13. 42 is overrated Yes + 42 - Cemeteries of London - 20 Lost - 9 42 - 16 Lovers in Japan - 10 Yes - 18 Viva la Vida - 13 Violet Hill - 8 Strawberry Swing - 17 (-) Death and All His Friends - 15
  14. I just received an email from someone within management claiming that this show is canceled, but there will be a likely reschedule.
  15. on the bright side, at least no critic has sunk to the low of referencing the Chinese Sleep Chant in the idiosyncratic critique that coldplay music is so boring that it induces one to sleep
  16. Have any of these critics heard "yes?" Honestly, I do not understand how a critic can criticize that song. That's such a critic's song. To be perfectly truthful, I believe there is something cool about being anti-coldplay for critics. Sort of how Green Day's three fifth note pop songs were cool because they bashed bush. These two articles are pure, unsubstantiated diatribe.
  17. 20 full 'listen-through's!!! Yeah, I have an SAT on Saturday so I have been playing the music non-stop while studying for the last two days.
  18. If the critic is looking for Chris to show some true vocal range, he ought to listen to Yes and God Put a Smile Upon Your Face. I am actually surprised he did not cite Yes as an example of "Chris' voice saving the lyrics." When he sings that line about being turned on, he could speak nonsense and his voice would still suggest a sexual theme. I do agree with the critic that lyrics are not necessarily Chris' strong point. Yet, I would describe Chris' lyric writing as more hit-and-miss. There are quite a few gems: See You Soon, A Rush of Blood to the Head, and Gravity to name a few. And yes, I did read his comment about what perhaps is the overuse of outer space metaphors and imagery. Nevertheless, I have always taken it more as a personal touch as opposed to an attempt at imagery. I see it as the singer's geekiness/personal interests coming out - "In a telescope lens" (See You Soon). The only time I can think Chris used space for pure imagery was with Politik, in which the opening line does succeed in inducing a feeling of floating in space (subjective view, but I think most would agree). I think most music critics will widely agree that the opening line there follows the "objective correlative" of the ambient music that starts the song.
  19. To the kid who said Radiohead was cooler than Christmas, Coldplay makes Radiohead look like Arbor Day. Seriously, Coldplay are pop/experimental gods
  20. well at least we know we are together in our confusion. I was worried that everyone was just leaving me in the dark so they could get the good tickets ;) I have been checking this thread like hourly hoping that the stubhub prices are misleading and that I can still get floor seats for $100/piece
  21. could someone please help me out with the earlier questions...? Are the stubhub tickets the only ones available? When will we be able to get them from livenation or ticketmaster?
  22. The tickets on stubhub are going for like $500?!?! Is it even possible to find a place to get floor tickets for $100; ticketmaster isn't even listing the chicago date also, how do you know if your section is good or not? Do they do seating around the entire floor or just one half?
  23. yeah, I just downloaded the song 4 days and I have already listened to it 50+ times on Itunes. However, I found zilch when I searched a round for a tab. All I know is that hal-leonard has a tab book for all the coldplay singles and b-sides that includes the murder tab, but I don't know how accurate that book is. If anyone here can vouch for it, I will buy a copy and scan copies of tabs from the book&put em up...or if someone has a tab for murder, that would be awesome as well  By the way, the see you soon tab on page 3 or 4 of this thread is really good. However, I am not sure if one part of the verse is "exactly" right. I could be wrong, but I am going through it for the first time right now and something sounds slightly off -> not chord wise, but the strings that are strummed of the third chord during the verse
  24. I just want to let you guys know I won't be able to get the scans and substantially respond to posts until Friday or Saturday probably. My week is really busy! But I just wanted to stop in and say thanks to everyone for replying and pointing me in the right direction!
