13-Nov-08: Kansas City - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 09-Jul]
My friends and i were section 229, row 7 seats 1-6 until we got upgraded by the nice fella. we even sat down and at about 7:40 bumped into the guy that was with the band who then moved us to second row. it was so surreal. we were moved to floor, row d, seats 15-20. row a was off to the left, row b was off to the right and row c was actually the front row. well first row was only about 4-5 feet from the stage, and the stage was probably 5 feet high, so they were looking straight up the entire time. we were probably 7-8 feet from the stage so i think second row was actually ideal over first. but compared to where i was, the floor was unbelievable.

DVD burning freeware?
dvd shrink rips the movie onto your computer, and i use a torrented nero to burn it to a disc. shrink is freeware, then i suppose you just need a burning tool that can burn dvd discs.

glass of water is definitely on the setlist, but i didn't notice if they had an extra guitarist or not, it was pretty early on and i was still in a bit of shock. i mean i'm obviously a big enough fan to hang around here, and there was one row of seats between me and the stage, it was unbelievable. i'll try to upload pictures later...i have to work in 5 hours.

holy hell that show was fantastic...i was in section 229, the nose bleeds on the top row, as i was going to quicktrip with some friends a guy stopped and asked me "what was coldplay's first album" easy enough, i answered parachutes and he moved me and my 5 friends to the second row on the floor. we went from being unable to see the stage to having chris martin sweat on us. unbelievable night

Coldplay accused of copying 'Viva La Vida' melody
As far as I can tell, Coldplay wrote a song that happened to kind of sound like a song someone else had made before, which isn't illegal. These guys used clips owned exclusively by itunes and Coldplay, which is illegal. I love irony.

The Offical Top Gear Thread
If it makes you feel better, Simon Cowell single handedly ruined American television. At any given point in a day there are 4-5 talent-oriented competitions on television with a 3 judge panel consisting of an unimportant snarky British guy, a washed up musician/actor/actress and some sort of specialist in the category at hand. Singing competitions, dancing competitions (3 or 4 of those actually), talent shows, circus competitions, weight loss competitions (handful of those as well), stand up comedy competitions, improv acting, etc, etc, etc. Also at this point we don't even have Top Gear.

Speak of the devil...I just read an article that said NBC picked up the American version and Adam Corrolla is going to host.

The Offical Top Gear Thread
God I miss top gear...I used to live in Germany and I had Sky Satellite, I used to watch that all the time. Discovery channel in the US picked up Top Gear for a while, and then they dropped it when they started developing an American version. That version fell through and the BBC version was never brought back. I have BBC America, but I've never seen it on there.

Virgin warns illegal downloaders: stop or face prosecution
Sounds like Virgin is the Comcast of England. In the US Comcast illegally cut bandwidth to users dl'ing torrents. They have no regard for customer service, and rely on middle age/elderly computer illiterate people to subscribe to their services.
