Hiccups ...
Too bad, the only men available atm are married.

Hiccups ...
That sounds a bit painful, but I'll try that next time. :uhoh: Maybe you should ask a doctor if there could be a medical reason for this? :uhoh:

Hiccups ...
... what do YOU do to get rid of them? :blank: My current situation made me remember that "hiccup girl", whose hiccups would never stop ... I googled it and found this. I don't want to end up like that. :blank:

Wouter Weylands dead :(
Wow, this is really sad. I wonder if he wore a helmet or if the street was too dangerous for the Giro? :/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cycling/13333589.stm

Torture
Hmm, I do see your point, Valerie. But if we give policemen or government officials the right to decide whether someone deserves his human rights or not, then how are we supposed to know that they're not gonna take them from us at some point too?

We're Boned (AKA the 2011 Canadian elections)
Of course Canada's problems are important and I don't think anyone wants to tell you to stop being concerned. It's something to be concerned about, but saying that it's a reason to leave the country just seems a bit ... I don't know how to say it ... weird to me, because even with the new government, the quality of life will still be better than in many other countries. Maybe that's what death's_friend wanted to say. :uhoh:

I think asking the Oracle if they know about this wouldn't hurt. :wreck:

Torture
I personally just find it hard to believe that a country with so many human resources, with all its knowledge, has to use torture. Interrogation has already become a science in itself, torture is not neccessary. I understand where the doubts are coming from and I don't want to take the moral highground, but torture is a step back into medieval times. Another thing that bugs me is that torture has apparently been used to learn the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden. Now was that really neccessary? Was it a life-threatening situation?

There's one in German that always confused me, don't know if it exists in the same form in English: having hair on your teeth = someone who talks a lot. :wtf:

Osama Bin Laden Is Dead
- Torture
Yes, I agree with Alice. I'm disgusted at the thought that a nation that claims to be one of the most progressive and just nations in the world, still uses these methods (but I think I've said that somewhere else already). How can any nation that approves torture as a means of interrogation claim to be progressive? There are always other ways. One thing one has to keep in mind is the extreme and blind obedience to their leaders that terrorists have. They are willing to die to serve their cause, so they are most likely willing to go through torture for it too. There's no guarantee that any obtained information is correct. People say a lot of things in extreme situations. Torture is in no way a means to gain trustworthy information- Osama Bin Laden Is Dead
Celebrating any death seems odd to me. I also cringe at pictures of families watching the execution of the murderer of a loved one. That has a lot to do with my opinion about death penalty though. It just doesn't seem like justice to me to see the one who caused you this pain suffer the same fate. In my eyes, that's not justice, it's vengeance, which is in contradiction to the Christian values many Americans believe in. I can understand the immediate reaction of those who went on the streets to a certain degree. But screaming "USA! USA!" just seemed like provocation and a very immature "IN YO FACE"-statement towards opponents of the United States. Just because there were people celebrating 9/11, doesn't mean US citizens have to do the same now, now that bin Laden is dead. Even if the death fills them with relief and happiness (which is more than understandable), it would be immensely important to show it in a respectful manner.- loneliness is love and
The sentence makes a lot of sense. Jonas is taken and you should respect that. It's not an insult and it's not showing disrespect towards you. If there's any disrespect involved, then it comes from your side, because you are the one photoshopping yourself into pictures with Jonas.- Violet ♥
I think Rudz has been bullied for too long and now he strikes back with all his force. :wreck:- Violet ♥
What the heck happened to Rudy? :wreck:- Osama Bin Laden Is Dead
Just read about this guy on Twitter who, unknowing that it was an operation to kill bin Laden, tweeted from the event. https://twitter.com/#!/ReallyVirtual/status/64780730286358528- i just think
