I do believe you that this thing has been blown way out of proportion. The thing I simply don't understand is, why he contacted Coldplay's management and not Shynola as it is obvious, that they are the creative heads behind this video. Plus his first point from his last statement doesn't sound very likely to me. If someone asks wether the similarities are coincidental or not, it is not very probable that he will be satisfied with a simple "yes, they are".
