Blur vs. Oasis
More pop and less experimental/alternative? I think their music appeals to a larger market.

SO going to that.

Blur vs. Oasis
Wow, I would have picked more Oasis fans. But it is true that Blur have had more of an influence on Coldplay's music. Still, Oasis #1 for me. Blur never had anything as good as Oasis' first 2.

I went to a free myspace music launch last night at the ACCA in melb... it was ok, they had paulo nutini, purple sneakers DJ, Leader Cheetah and The Middle East. Leader Cheetah impressed me the most. Crowd loves Middle East, for me they had a couple of new tunes, and potential, but I feel as though by the time they release a *decent* album internationally, the 'folk craze' will be over. Myspace was terrible at running the gig, but it was free.. so..... I'll call it an interesting evening.

Big Day Out 2010
Only the main stages (Blue/orange).... the green (in my opinion always the best) has real barrier at all... As for D-barrier, It usually gets packed around 6pm.. they will only let people in if others are coming out... it was full for arcitc monkeys last year and then everyone cleared out when Niel Young came on! (Prodigy and Dropkick murphys >) I was on the edge of the D-Barrier last year, so I got to see people being pulled out... its quite far back, but you have to expect to be pretty jammed in if you go in there. I am planning to this year providing a good act is on before muse.

YOUR Albums of the decade 2000-2010
NO. Decade begins at new Millenium, right? So it starts first day of 2000. Decade goes for 10 years, right? So it ends last day of 2009.

Which pisses me off (if they don't do sideshows). There's no way I am going to future or good vibes to put up with shitty dj acts all day just to see good bands headlining.

I think Radiohead were a decent chance, Arctic Monkeys definitely... As for other bands, nobody has announced Passion Pit, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, and all the others rumored to be on the 2nd BDO announcement. Just so disappointed as I loved last years SO much. And I gave the guys proof at fasterlouder, but nobody has put it up yet! It's massive news!

according to page 9 of today's the age newspaper in victoria, there will be no v festival in 2010. the article reads: the v festival, which, for the past three years has attracted strong line-ups of international acts, has been shelved by promoters michael coppel presents and virgin mobile. the partners faced stiff competition from events such as the big day out, good vibrations, laneway, golden plains and future music. pretty gutted. Pretty big news. so pissed off with them, as if they have thrown away one of the best organised festivals of the calendar.
