  1. It's odd for a band to come here in winter, generally they only come if they are playing at Byron Bay, whatever that festival's called... I forgot..
  2. Ha, now the boys come a flockin'!! Thanks!
  3. And here's the video of Vampire Weekend on Sunrise: http://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/sunrise/video/concerts/index.html?autoplay_id=16735324#embedded-video-top
  4. Hello! :wink3:
  5. I just think Cousins would have been a better choice. I do like Horchata better, though. I think Cousins is a poor choice for the first single. From what I have heard of white sky, it is amazing. I have heard the other new songs on youtube too.. they seem to have more of an african influence this LP. Oh, and as for the Cousins single... anyone realise it sounds different to previous versions? It seems to me like they put too many layers on the song in the studio version and live it sounds a million times better. Also, the opening guitar effects and ezra's "ooh-ah-ey-ey" kind of ruin the intro... And it seems too fast. I dunno. Maybe they'll change the album version.
  6. How late? Next December? Because they are in the UK at Wembley in September or something like that..
  7. I agree that Hot Fuss should have been included. I still don't entirely agree with NME only putting "NME" bands on the list. They paractically have multiple orgasms every time a Cribs record comes on, so come on, tell me why they weren't on the list? If they were shit, then NME have done the right thing and put decent albums on there, not just their own biased love-children.
  8. Yeah, and I saw the article about LP4... Let's hope those two songs are decent enough. I wonder if anyone on the Arctic Monkeys forum knows about them any more...
  9. I was going to make a better pic for this one.. anyway zeya never mentioned on the title it was her birthday, so I assumed... anyway, Par-tay!!!
  10. wow. fail. delete away!
  11. Happy Birthday *Perrine* (she was pepe57) Hey Perrine! All the best on your birthday today!!!
  12. HA! I just woke up, turned the tv on and they said, "vampire weekend playing live, after the break"... so I thought, this is awesome timing!! I never knew! Horchata sounded good, didn't use the cymbals which I like so much in the song. Koshy and Mel are the worst hosts ever... he had really no idea what he was talking about. Ezra's voice sounded spot on, I was surprised they didn't play cousins, might have got them some itunes sales... bad move? As for left field, yeah they still are. Lots of people I know have NEVER heard of them.
  13. The Horrors - Primary Colours was 2009 right? Yes.
  14. I think vampire weekend deserve their spot, I mean it's a pretty orginal sound. God I hope they aren't becoming overrated. PLEASE!!! Oh, and fleet foxes, album of 2008 should have got a look in, methinks.
  15. I'm Surprised!! :P
  16. Welcome back.
  17. I tried to restore some logic. People, understand what this thread is about! :P
  18. Ok, time for my two cents worth. Firstly, It is probably more suprising to notice the bands that are NOT on the list rather than celebrating the ones that are on it. I agree to some degree that NME have contradicted themselves, for example the albums that they have given 9 or 10 ratings over the decade have barely featured. I fail to understand why albums like Elbow's Seldom Seen Kid, Doves' Lost Souls, Franz Ferdinand's self titled aren't on the list. I think rather than being dickheads, NME have complied a list based on how they percieved the albums to a) change music over the decade and b) prove that they are timeless, aka. are still decent albums years after release. I think in that respect this explains why a number of decent albums have been left out. As for the NME bias: I think that is a crap argument. Yes, the strokes and arctic monkeys feature near the top of the list, but come on, they are both amazing albums in their own right and I have no doubt will feature in the top ten of most musical institutions' compilations. If there really was some bias towards NME bands I am sure we would have seen the cribs albums (that didn't even feature) and the klaxons' album in top 10 at least. I think their list tends to cover a coveted amount of musical genres, and not just "NME-style" sounds. Maybe the reason why Coldplay isn't on the list is because they have completely sold out to the world and the commercial radios of the planet. The albums that have been included on the list are all great albums in their own right that conform to an eclectic and varying mix of tastes... you have your indie bands, Hip/Hop-Rap, alternative, rock, punk rock etc... I dunno, I would love to know how they voted, and whether the NME editor had the final say. I personally don't agree with the list, and nobody will, and this is the first of a million 'Greatest Albums of the decade' that will start to filter through over the next months. My biggest gripe is why the fuck Oasis' "Don't Believe The Truth" didn't make it. Even in 90-100!!
  19. Brilliant, your approval was needed! :D
  20. Wow, that's the song with the line "do you have a dollar..." right? She has a good voice. Not my kind of music tbh
  21. Oh and ezra mentioned on Australian radio that they'd be back in oz the first half of 2010.
