Not sure I needed my own thread... But I just wanted to say hey to everyone. I've already been posting here for a couple days now, and wow this is a lovely place. You people are so kind. So glad I can be apart of the community. Name is Brent btw, I am from Southern California. :)

Rolling Stone: 3.5/5 Stars
I love My Morning Jacket, but Evil Urges IMO wasn't a 4/5 record. Even if it was, Viva La Vida was a much better album. To be honest, I kind of expected better reactions for this album. I know lots of critics complained X & Y was "too much of the same" - and when Coldplay changed it up, well..I just thought they would be all over it. Oh well. It's the fans opinions that really matter. And from what I gather, most of us LOVE Viva La Vida. :D

The Jesus of Uncool: Chris Martin: The Rolling Stone Interview
This was awfully kind of Martin, and to be honest..I kind of teared up when I just read that. I know America has done some stupid things, and we aren't in the best place right now, but not everyone (a vast majority actually) are bad people. We are just people working to survive, just like any other place. It's just..touching, to have someone like Martin stick up for us.

AHHHH!!!! I'm TALKING TO COLDPLAY LIVE ON RADIO 1 TODAY!!!!!
That is a LOVELY question. :) Personally, I would of asked if I could bake bread with them. Or more importantly, what kind of bread did they bake during the making of Viva La Vida.

Rolling Stone: 3.5/5 Stars
I think this should be a 4.5/5 I'm disappointed in this score. Then again, I never really had faith in RS for music reviews.

My argument for us, the fans
Nice read indeed! Coldplay does get a lot of unnecessary hate. There is "opinions" and then there's just being malicious. I've always thought, "fine, you don't like the band..don't listen". And like I said, there is nothing wrong with critiquing the band, even if you don't like them, but people go above and beyond to be vicious and rude.

The "X&Y track vs. VLVODAAHF tracks" thread
I have to thank Ultravioletlight25 for showing me the way. I was so stubborn in my opinion, but by standing her ground, I decided to give X & Y another chance. And wow, I can't believe it took so long, but I am actually loving this album. Thank you! :D

The "X&Y track vs. VLVODAAHF tracks" thread
You know..I am seriously going to have to eat my words. I mean this full heartedly. I haven't listened to X&Y in some time. I just got done listening to it, and it's MUCH better then I gave it credit for. I've heard X&Y god knows how many times, but I have to say, time really aged it well with me (the long break of not listening to it). I still think Viva La Vida is a much better album, but...I think I might actually love X&Y. Talk about a revelation!

The "X&Y track vs. VLVODAAHF tracks" thread
Bah, record sales don't mean anything. Again, Linkin Parks new albums sold tons, doesn't make it great. Also, i never said Coldplay went into it thinking they were going to make a terrible album. But bands make music all the time, where they thought it was great at first, but years later realized it was no where near their best record. Sigh, a Masterpiece? Hell no. :p As far as the bands opinion goes, I did bring it up. But my point is, regardless of what they thought (even if they said it sucked, or said it was great) - it all comes down to what YOU think. If you enjoy the album, don't let anyone else tell you other wise (including me). :)

AHHHH!!!! I'm TALKING TO COLDPLAY LIVE ON RADIO 1 TODAY!!!!!
Just chill out! I don't mean that it in a bad way, but keep calm. Also, I agree..don't try to be a fan girl when talking to Martin. You can show your excitement and appreciation for his music, without coming across as being annoying and over hyper. Go get em! :D After the interview, you can scream, dance, pass out!!! :D

The "X&Y track vs. VLVODAAHF tracks" thread
Then Martin sure likes to talk in circles. Regardless of how the band feels, the album was a def a stinker. I'm sure Fall Out Boy thinks their albums are "masterpieces" - don't make them.

The "X&Y track vs. VLVODAAHF tracks" thread
We def disagree then. There is no way I could ever call X & Y their best album. Even Martin has said in interviews that X & Y can be a bit of a stinker in places. Like I said, it had some great songs, but overall, it was the band hitting a wall (creatively speaking)

The "X&Y track vs. VLVODAAHF tracks" thread
X&Y just wasn't very good. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it's def their worst album.

The thread for all Pre--Sale discussions
Prob too late to say this. But wow, the LA pre-sales were terrible. *shakes head*

Help Oxfam America & See Coldplay! (Volunteer Discussion Thread)
I really wanted to help out for the LA show, but I have the feeling that a bunch of peopled signed up for that date.

Is Stubhub reliable??
I would say they are both equal. Altho I think Stub Hub IS a tiny bit more reliable, in the sense that they only focus on tickets. So A) you are going to have more selections and B) they will pay more attention

I wonder when those are going on sale? Or is that just a mistake? I didn't know the forum had a PIT section.

Right now, I just got a Log 31 Row F for the Tuesday show!! I was hopeing for better, but at least this is towards the front of Log. Does anyone have pictures they can post, of the view of the forum? Like a better look at what the venue looks like inside? Just trying to judge how good or bad my view is going to be.

Hrmm, I have never had this much bad luck before. 2 pre-sales, general sale..and not even a single GOOD ticket. Sure i have gotten "okay" tickets, but nothing great. It just seems fishy to me. I'm wondering if the radiostations or someone has all the floor seats. Like they set them aside for promotional use. I don't plan on going to either of the LA shows now. But I'm sure they will come back to the US.
