  1. I can only talk for myself, but I would not really heed any comments Noel makes, on Coldplay, the environment or anything else. Everyone knows he talks bullshit and I doubt anyone at all takes his comments seriously...public figure or not, he has the right to say what he wants, even if it´s bullshit. People must discern for themselves what they think they agree with or not.
  2. Is Noel supposed to be intelligent?? Talented yes, funny yes, but I somewhat never associated the intelligent adjective with the Gallagher brothers hehe
  3. Well Noel´s comments are often tongue-in-cheek...and really he has been talking bullshit for quite sometime now ;)
  4. Noel is hilarious..always has been! I enjoy his commentaries, even though at the end of the day I am not sure he means them... Anyone thinking a little about this does soon realize that whatever affects the planet and the other inhabitants soon will affect us too as well, not to mention our children´s future. He has a very short attention span and does not think much about anything...that´s his problem I reckon ;)

The In My Place video is SOOOOOO adorable! Unspeakably beautiful! AWWWWW I did not know two guys could love each other like that! LOL Stunning
  6. I like the Buy two, Pay for one concept :D I think Chinese Sleep Chant is a hidden track because it is not a fully developed song. It sounds more like Coldplay experimenting with new sounds and Chris going off with some weird repetitive lyrics. I personally love it. It is very hypnotic!
  7. I am not very familiar with U2 to be honest, besides their obviously huge hits, but I listened to the new album and I can see how Coldplay´s sound can be compared to U2´s, in terms of how the guitar sounds for example and generally the bass/drum sound is very similar, but the similarities end there in my opinion. Melodically these 2 bands are HUGELY different! I frankly do not resonate with U2 melodies , but I am deeply moved, entertained and energized by all Coldplay songs, so melodically they are pears and apples :) I would not call Coldplay a warm blanket though...Chris might not scream like Bono, but this does not make the songs less potent. Oftentimes powerful feelings can be best conveyed with subtelty. I feel generally Coldplay music and especially Viva are powerful hymns to life! I frankly do not remotely feel the same energy in U2´s material
  8. Yes if you click on the link, there is more stuff,, also about songwriting etc...I did not want to paste everything here. :)
  9. I am not sure this has been posted before..if it has, I apologize. If it has not, here is a nice new article with small interview snippets of Coldplay in Australia... Last year, that perception began to change. By employing veteran musician and producer Brian Eno for their fourth album, Viva La Vida, Coldplay shifted their sound and delivered one of their best records, one that at least compensated for their bloated third album, X&Y. "If you listen to too many responses to things, you would just not do anything," Martin says of those who knock the band, backstage at one of their Melbourne gigs this week. "Whatever you do, somebody's not going to like it." And the self-deprecating Martin is not being drawn into comparisons with U2 or a verbal spat with Bono, who this week caused a stir when he jokingly called the Coldplay frontman a "wanker". "What do you want me to say? I always thought he felt that way," Martin says. "The difficulty of the whole U2 thing is we're on our fourth record. So we're competing with people's fifth records. We're coming up to Revolver or Joshua Tree. We're at a very different stage." Coldplay have just upgraded their set at the Sound Relief fundraiser for the Victorian bushfire and Queensland flood appeals (at the SCG next Saturday, March 14) from acoustic to electric. The band are glad to lend their services to the causes, Martin says. "The bushfires show is a great thing for us to do. We're going to come out with all guns blazing. It will be the full Coldplay experience. The full arsenal. It was only a logistics issue we had to work out as to whether we played acoustics. It's all sorted. We're absolutely ready to go for the show." For full interview, go to... http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/entertainment/music/coldplay-feels-the-chill/2009/03/05/1235842545558.html
  10. Odd exchange! Again someone attacking either Coldplay or whoever helps them making music...I think there are waaaaay too many jealous people around!
  11. Very nice article! Chris, as always, is showing he is way above any negative comments about him or the band...They are at the top of the world and they do not need to shout it ;)
  12. I can´t believe the boys would willingly say yes to something like this...I think a LOT of the arrangement aspect of their live performances is left to Live Nation and they are not privy to every detail of it, however I think they should be. For example at the Coldplay gig here in Denmark you can only buy seated tickets in combination with a 5-courses menu, for a total grand price of almost 200 GBP / 300 USD! You can also buy standing tickets for the so-called inner circle for an extra charge, but this would only grant you the chance to run for the first row as there are throusands of tickets being sold as inner circle, so it is really nothing special: just another excuse to cash in more money....Just giving a few examples of how Live nation is not new to pulling all kind of stunts to make a profit.
  13. I find cretin more insulting that the W word to be honest...
  14. Maybe you should write that in the U2 fan page forum ...:P I do not presume to know what people will think of our current music 40 years from now and I am pretty sure no one could have predicted U2´s success either...I guess we shall wait and see
  15. Haha you are a brave soul..:) I second your predictions though, so now WE shall see what happens ;)
  16. I don´t find it funny either. I guess we have a different sense of humor...I can´t imagine Chris calling Bono a cretin. I certainly can not judge Bono or what he meant by that comment, but I just don´t like it...and I don´t like him much either.
  17. You´d be surprised....no matter how much success they have had, no one with the size of Bono´s ego wants to be a fading star...
  18. Calling Chris Martin a cretin and a w*****? Wow what a class Bono is showing. Maybe someone now will see his true colours....and what´s that about making concerts more intimate? i.e. that is exactly what Coldplay have been doing on this tour..so he is jealous and a copycat? And that remark about expensive tickets for sensitive rich people did not sit well with me either...
  19. Here is VERY interesting blog entry on the Satriani/Coldplay dispute. Listen to the sound samples! The lawyers should definitely see this: http://theopenend.com/2009/01/31/coldplay-vs-joe-satriani-who-owns-the-descending-melody/
  20. Jedi Leo replied to Pris's topic in Coldplay
They spend more time in North American than in Europe...whatever
  21. Jedi Leo replied to Pris's topic in Coldplay
    Nort American tour...baaah
  22. Jedi Leo replied to Pris's topic in Coldplay
I´d love new release info. We are getting spoiled by all these exclusive songs, with EP, b-sides and whatnot ;)
  23. Jedi Leo replied to Pris's topic in Coldplay
Please do not let it be an US tour...that would be so boring a news. Hardly a quite big news
  24. I can´t imagine any judge in their right mind deciding that VLV is Joe´s song, unless he/she is deaf of course. A few similar notes HARDLY means that it is the same song. Joe just wants some attention, poor...boo boo. Give it a few months and this thing will be all forgotten and VLV credits will NOT be altered.
  25. Does anybody find it incredible how even a little funny song like Goldrush can have such moving melodies when they all sing together? They just can´t write something that is not outstanding. I love the new b-side!
