Certainly it was carried out in the music. Nearly every track on VLV has a strong vibrant beat and that is what characterizes latin american music as well. If you contrast VLV with the previous album and just pay attention to the beat, you will see just how influenced it was from latin vibes :)

I for one am happy this is not only about great music but putting up great shows. When I went to VLV, just about everyone was saying how great the whole show was, butterfly confetti, colourful clothes and everything matching up to the theme of the album. I personally praise creativity in all its forms, musical and visual, so kudos to Coldplay for wanting everything they make (artwork and costumes included) to represent their music

I love the single artwork and I love the bright happy colors all over. I for one am happy they don't wear black. That's for boring bands...I hope this means more psychedelic tracks in the new album, a la Chinese Sleep chant!

Does anyone think the new single is gonna be an upbeat dance song? Some of the lyrics phrasing make me think so...I don´t mind in the least, but it would be interesting to know what you think the music will sound like

I had to head to the forum even before I got my cup of tea! I so hope today is the day! Do you think the single will be released today? It would be sooo awesome! I am so looking forward to everything that comes with a new album: the promotion, the videos, the live appearances, argh!!! So exciting! Now that they taunted us so much, they sure can´t make us wait any longer for the new music...

I´ve listened to Me And Tennesse a hundred times and I must say it´s just beautiful and I am not even a country fan! I like "Coming Home" as well but melodically speaking there is no competition here: Me and Tennesse wins hands down. Then again Oscar voters have never been really good with music selections hehe

Was watching the Apple event when I heard Steve Jobs announcing a band "we at Apple really love...they have recorded four albums" and I went like..Coldplay yay! hehe Awesome moment! Sketchy performance yes but Chris charming as ever

If you want perfect or near-perfect singing, pop in the VLV cd and wear your best pair of headphones :) Live shows, in my opinion, are not meant to be perfect liveless execution of the music, but rather a sharing and celebration of the music. We all danced at VLV concert and it was an unforgettable experience. I much prefer that to a concert where everyone sits perfectly still and the singer is flawless...yawn..
