Anyone only like certain parts of 42?
As far as I can recall, there is only one song, 42, which is a mixture of 2/3 different parts. The others are either only one song or two songs sold as one track, but both independent of each other....

Viva La 200,000 seller
Anyone knows if the above figures include digital downloads? Anyhow 125.000 is quite impressive.

Viva La 200,000 seller
Well to be fair , I should have probably not compared the two musically as Be Here Now was to Oasis what X & Y was to Coldplay in my opinion and Viva La Vida is a brand new chapter. I meant that it was a better effort because you can hear Coldplay have worked hard to innovate their sound and try something new. And yes I also love the tracks on Be Here Now, no doubt but I do think Viva La Vida shows a depth and multi-facet layers that Be Here Now never did...

Viva La 200,000 seller
No doubt about that! I hope this album sells a lot! It sure is a much better effort than Be Here Now (and I speak as an Oasis fan) , so it would be neat if it outsold it (incl. digital sales). Fingers crossed!

Viva La 200,000 seller
As far as I know, the only way to know how much the album has sold on iTunes, and other digital shops, is for them to release the sale figure at some point in the future so we have to wait and see...

Viva La 200,000 seller
Found another article about sale figures...apologize if it has already been posted somewhere. Coldplay Looks Good For 400,000 Sales In The UK by Paul Cashmere - June 13 2008 Coldplay's 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends' album may sell as high as 400,000 in the UK this week, based on first day figures. The band's last label, 2005's 'X&Y' sold to that level in week one in the UK and went on to sell more than 10 million worldwide, including 3.2 million in the USA. 'Viva La Vida' was released midweek, so the next UK chart will only account for 3 days of sales, but that is expected to still place it in an easy number one position. This week's fastest seller in the UK to date has been Duffy's 'Rockferry'. 'Viva La Vida' will easily beat Duffy's 183,000 first week sales. However it is a long way off the record set by Oasis when 'Be Here Now' did 695,000 in one week in the UK. http://www.undercover.com.au/News-Story.aspx?id=5224

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
Today is the day here in Denmark! YAHOOOOOOO! I could not help getting up early (here it´s 7:50 am!) I was just so excited! I have a day off today hehe So I might also lunch out in town before I pick up the precious disk! This is so exciting! By the way I got my mum, she is 60, to listen to the My Space leak and she loved the album so much she is going to buy it too! I think that´s pretty great.

Viva La 200,000 seller
Does this figure include digital downloads? If it does not, it is very inaccurate as I am sure many have also downloaded it digitally. Also, are they just guessing the final number or have they actually counted how many records were sold on day one?

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
Ah I see! Here we don´t have mid prices like Walmart so the difference between digital and physical cd price is quite substantial. But then of course there is always play.com or cdwow...

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
In Italy it´s going to cost 16-20 euros (12-15 pounds). I guess it is expensive if you compare it with the price war in UK surrounding this album! However I will also pay 15 pounds for my copy tomorrow...I simply can´t wait anymore ! haha

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
LOL Well maybe it was a bit too early :P

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
I am an avid iTunes user so for most albums that would do for me, especially considering the HUGE difference in price between digital and cd, at least here. But for some special releases, like Coldplay, I also do consider the CD a special treat , especially if it is a digipack which I like infinitely more than the boring jewel case...

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
Yes that is true! I do hope I am not the only one either...and I do hope this album sells well. It surely does deserve to!

Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
So I have decided where I am going to buy it...100%. It´s going to be at my local music store tomorrow after lunch :) They have confirmed they have the gatefold edition (matter of fact they said they ONLY have that edition for now...) so I am really happy about that and I feel like a kid at Christmas Eve! Woah! Gotta give it to the boys...it has been a LONG time since I´ve felt so excited about a new release. :)
-
Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
Can TOTALLY sympathize with that!! I would probably do the same...
-
Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
Hey that is pretty cheap! Also compared to Play or CDwow. I´ll keep that link in mind in case my local store does not have the gatefold edition....
-
Where will you be buying Viva La Vida?
Wow that sounds great! Lucky you! :) I wish I had pre-ordered from Play.com then...but had no idea they would ship it before release date. Oh well I´ll try and pick it up at my local store, provided they have the gatefold digipack edition which is the only one I want to buy.

Andy Gill (Independent): 'Why I hate Coldplay'
*LOL* Yes apparently even some of his collegues can´t stand him...I respect other people´s opinions as long as they respect mine and this is where dear Andy has gone wrong. Not respecting people who actually like Coldplay, he has given himself away for what he truly is: a bitter hypocrite man.

Out of curiosity , what is the difference in price between download and physical cd overe there in the US? Here the album on iTunes costs about $ 16 and as physical cd $ 30.
