Yes thats the point. Even if we are secularised (for the most part) religion is still embedded in our culture, history, art, etc.

I conclude that Hymn was not played either because of the CA whiners. In this case it was a bad decision because not playing means admitting guilt for something they never did. Or it was not played because seriously Coldplay thought it´d be "bad taste" to play a current chart single (even though Madonna did before them and Beyonce will be doing now...hmmmm)

Indeed. Its clear by now to me that Parachutes IS the odd album in Coldplay catalogue, while Oldplayers might think its what defines Coldplay haha They were certainly more alternative in the earlier albums than they are now, but I don't exclude that they might make a comeback to that in the future...Once you come full circle, you are likely to go back too :)

So now that we KNOW Beyonce will debut a new song....someone again explain to me how Chris is gonna talk himself out of the lame excuse he gave for not playing Hymn? It either makes him look like a giant fool or make Beyonce look really bad and commercial

X&Y is definitely the official start of the pop Coldplay hehe And yes I´d prefer they had the 12 minutes all by themselves. I don't think the request thing was false. Perhaps it turned out to be unfeasible from a practical point of view...but I still think they might play some more old songs during this tour

I had the idea because I always wanted to listen to the albums with people who were as passionate about them as I was and none of my friends are that. They would roll eyes at my geeky comments! haha So I imagined how great it´d be to share it with other Coldplayers and here we are. It really is a lovely experience imo! :D

It´d be about 3 pm in Cali now....*reminisces about the west coast missing the palms* hehe Its midnight here. Time for more tea and more chocolate :)

Yes I like a few songs by them as well, but I must admit seeing their behaviour during this Super Bowl really left me with a bad taste in my mouth in terms of who they are as people/artists. Not my cup of tea, though the music can be good and they are great performers

If its the usual Chris guitar, he´s using a Martin. But I think I also saw him use the Gibson J-200 (I have that too!) which is typical in songs like these.

And now the "Jonny Cash" song...I always found it lovely :) For you I WAAAAAIT til Kingdom Comes....I cud always so well relate to the lyrics haha
