Hymn for the Weekend - video
Non-Christians can like churches too, and they have great acoustics hehe "God is love" is a spiritual message, but I would not classify it as specific religious as God could be any God or however you interpret a "higher power/consciousness". I think the various religious references when specifics are just because they are part of culture every way you go! My opinion from what I know about Coldplay and have seen in interviews is that they are definitely spiritual people (at least Chris) who believe in God/higher power but not defined or limited to any religion. There are tons of artists who have spiritual messages in their songs, simply because the vast majority of people on this planet do believe in a higher power of some form :) But that doesn't make that artist or band a "religion promoting" band. There are dedicated religious artists. Off the top of my head Sixpence None The Richer are a Christian band (or were, not so active anymore) who have been very open about their Christian faith both in interviews and in their lyrics.

Hymn for the Weekend - video
It should not be considered anything because its simply not there :) I´d have never have noticed the cross or the Mother Mary sign unless someone pointed it out to me...thats how "blatant" it was :) We all have our beliefs (or no beliefs) and its perfectly fine to interpret material the way we want to, but I´d say it would be very incorrect to say that Coldplay are promoting a specific religion or religious message. I don't see any ground for this statement. If anything the new material promotes a lot of books and specific book titles! LOL So a literature bias yes there is ground to say that! haha

Hymn for the Weekend - video
But how is it in any way blatant and direct? Im not seeing it. The only thing I see is that they chose a colourful hill /construction in California which happened to have one sentence about Jesus written on it and the Hymn video has a boat with a reference to Mother Mary (to me completely by chance...) and also feature a Hindu-like Goddess. There is nothing religious in their new material that I can see, only references to love, hope and universal feelings like those.

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I can only presume they have a huge amount of latin american fans, who perhaps expressed a strong wish for a spanish account! :) And as for finding it awesome I guess its subjective. If they opened a danish twitter account tomorrow I would not really care as I understand their english twitter account just fine :)

Coldplaying Listening Party
4:31 according to iTunes version....which is the download version I assume most people have? Anyway now I wrote 4:32 on the first post just to be a bit large. We´ll stick to that. We can live with a few seconds silence LOL

Coldplaying Listening Party
Ok guys I don't mind either way but we need to agree on this very soon haha So everyone can see what to do on the first post instructions. As no one likes waiting (I assume) we can then say the CD people skip at....what time? I need exact minutes and seconds :)
-
Coldplaying Listening Party
Do you have a CD version you can import? Im doing that now myself...If not and you"tried your best but you don't succeed" you can always count the seconds to 5:02 haha :)

Coldplaying Listening Party

[2016-02-07] Coldplay headlining Super Bowl 2016 - Confirmed
I like this setlist. I´d add Up&Up in the end with a massive sing along !
-
Coldplaying Listening Party
Ah I see. Irritating with these differences :/ But yeah lets all try to adjust to the CD version. Im importing the album now :)
-
Coldplaying Listening Party
Damn iTunes and download crap haha I would stick to the CD version as canon for our synchronisation, then people who don't have the break can pause for a few seconds.
-
Coldplaying Listening Party
Hmm I thought I´d imported X & Y ages ago to my Mac from the CD. Apparently not. I just checked and its my mega old iTunes version...*grrrrr* Im gonna import it NOW :D
-
Coldplaying Listening Party
Hmm my Twisted Logic clocks at 4:32 minutes, no silence that I can hear between that and Kingdom. I might check later on my CD version then...
-
Coldplaying Listening Party
Yes I might do the same cuz Im about to start a movie or two! hehe And if you happen to miss the first part, you can always synchronise back in after the break :D

Coldplaying Listening Party
I replied earlier to why I think the livestream, though providing certainly some advantages, might not be a good idea. But in the future we can discuss this if there is wish for it :)
